As long as you avoid twisting the stick, this game is totally playable on HOTAS, using the rudder buttons on the throttle as yaw control. I had a blast with it.

@@carlvonkorff3744 gaze tracking: Look at the instrument on the dash and press X when it highlights. Not as VRAF as physically flipping the switch, but an easy tradeoff imo.

HOTAS is great with this game. The twist rudder got a quick fix but still needs a bit of work but the rudder rocker on the throttle works just fine. After many hours playing with all three control types I absolutely prefer HOTAS.

This is like a remake of the awesome pilot wings from Nintendo 64 which I loved back then.

I love Ultrawings and D Day is OK but imagine a game like Battlefield 1943 in VR....that would be so cool. To be able to fly about like UW then parachute out and take out bases as infantry

Thanks for the impressions. Super fun game. Was playing with my son (10 years old) for about an hour last night and we both really had a blast. Considering getting the Quest version as well so we can play in some dog fights, a term that my son found hilarious.

It is one of my favorite games. And also it has a lot of content, it took me more than 30 hours to beat. 200+ missions, each is at least several minutes to beat + medal system. Definitely recommend it!

I feel very lucky because I never heard of this game until yesterday so I bought it today and love it.

Get you the Thrustmaster’s HOTAS too. Currently available new for about 50 USD. I think the game is easier with the Sense Controllers (+ more haptics) though so you’re good to go with PSVR2 out of the box. Welcome to VR!

I just realized after 10 hours of play that in the office you can long press the "hold" button to summon the laser to your hand (or helmet)

I bought it on a whim and I’m loving it. The physics simulation is the best part for me and the challenges are.. challenging! But in all the right ways. They did a great job on this game. Haven’t even tried the PSVR2 controllers yet but on Dualsense edge it’s really good. I don’t understand Sony though, they should give the PSVR2 more love. It’s great for the price and ease of use.

Great video. Very informative. I'm brand new to VR. I just purchased a quest 2 and loaded this game. Do we have to pay to get new planes? I'm trying to fly the P51 but I don't see it in the menu options.

Does anyone know how to fix the cockpit, so that I can actually see outside all around me? I had the PSVR version and it worked fine, but with PSVR2 I am hindered by a "roof" that prevents me from seeing anything aside from through he narrow front window. I have tried adjusting the seat many times and f I move around, I can sometimes see outside for a bit, but I should not be having to make such accommodations. Any suggestions?

Yeah, it gave me quite bad motion sickness. I thought I had sturdy VR legs after 3 years of VR and not having to use any comfort settings in any other games. I put on the comfort setting to max and that seemed to help. Hopefully it will get easier over time.

Is the sense of speed better in the headset than what it looks in the video

Hi, love this game. But when i look to the side forexample the front cockpit window goes black, can see through it when i look forward again. Its really anoying.... When i pause everything is fine strangely enoug

@@wanl.docarmo2090 Its a default setting keeping people from getting dizzy, wich is pretty stupid of them to have as a default setting if you ask me.....Go to options and immersion/simulation settings and turn things to full simulation/immersion. If you dont find it i can explain more tomorrow

I can't create a dogfight session with some bots? I fear multiplayer might die in a month (like Galaxy Karts) so what options do I have to do lots of combat against bots?

​@@DowntheRabbitHole0 Hi, I will answer this coz I completed the game. As far as I remember you can't start custom made skirmish with bots. This game is about mission completions. From 250 missions in this game there's like 50 missions that are combat and war themed. They have some variety, it is not strictly dog fight. It is: dogfight, pursue bombers and take them out before they come to the city, defend your friendly aviation from interceptors, shoot land vehicles, fly on slow moving plane and shoot with gun in your other hand, attack naval ships and so on. It is quite fun! Also in non-combat missions there's a casual combat stuff too sometimes - on slow plane you need to shoot baloons on the move with a gun, on fast plane you are chasing and shooting drones while also flying through the circles. I could say there's about 40 missions of this stuff too. It is not combat oriented game, it is true. But it has enough combat gameplay to satisfy. Also I suppose that you'll need to play some non combat missions to get money to unlock another island (and unlock new combat misions), though I think you can play only 10% of others missions to progress. I love this game, and suggest you to try it :) If you worry about content size, it will be 100 missions that combat-based, I bet it is a 10 hours gameplay here for you

Brilliant game, the switching between looking forward and looking out of the sides of the cockpit is a little weird, pretty jarring especially when you're in combat, guessing it's to prevent motion sickness or something, though hope they add the option to remove it

@craigracummings one of my favorite vr games to this day. I don't even like multiplayer games, but flying around in the Vulcan... I couldn't even get myself to enjoy statwars squadrons after playing Eve

I think betting on one game could lead you to a disappointment. I was disappointed with bulletstorm VR recently. Yet this flight sim is nice, and if you love feel of flying - I suggest you to try this out

And I've seen interviews and read articles that say developing for PSVR is a nightmare, mostly because of the interactions with Sony and their requirements. They really don't do themselves any favors at all.

I reckon the powers that be have told them to keep a lid on the VR2 and the games for it, to allow Meta control of the VR industry, why would a social network like Facebook be interested in VR? simple answer Data Collection as we enter a surveillance capitalist society and now we've got Apple jumping on it, and both US owned companies, they don't want a Japanese company being the leaders in this Brave New VR world, it has to be the US sucking the soul out of our eyeballs, no tin hat 😅

It is a doomed circle - PSVR2 sold in small quantities, so it doesn't give good revenue to spend money in hype building here

You people have been smoking something you shouldn't have, what a waste of time and money, motion controls are very clunky, just invested 4 solid hours and now give up. Do not come back at me with " not a gamer" 47 y/o expert, gaming since atari 2600 until present, this is another very poor psvr2 experience, thank goodness for gt7. End of rant

I just don’t understand why we can’t get a legit flight simulator. This looks like absolute garbage. Looks like a game for my 10 year old. I swear PSVR2 is done for. It’s too bad. It had all the potential to be a competitor to higher end PC VR headsets and they just squandered it. Like the vita, this thing is now a paperweight. Haven’t touched mine in months. The games on this thing are awful. Aside from GT7, RE, Pavlov and no man’s sky, there is no reason to buy this thing. Horizon was great too. How about a ln uncharted port? Drakes Fortune would be absolutely stunning on this headset. How about allow us the ability to play steam games? FS2020 is what I would love to play. Any flight simulator. Just give us one. Jesus.
