    3:23 Stallone FINALLY gets the "holding his dog in his arms at the top of the steps" shot that he originally wanted to have in the first Rocky. I'm not even joking, either.

    Apollo was the best boxer in the rocky universe.His downfall was being stubborn and not listening to those around him,had he taken Dukes advice he would have beaten rocky in the 2nd fight by points,and had he taken Rockys advice he would trained seriously and not tire himself with the dance before fighting Drago he wouldn't have died,albeit he would still have lost.

    I thing Rocky become the perfect motivation coach and trainer. The speech he hold to his son, man that was great.. .. "you are better"... Kid is quitting his job, leaving to Canada, going his own steps, that's all Rocky wanted from him... And he made it! What a good movie... Forget all the sequels between, this is the perfe t ending... It a circle closing..... So many connections to the first movie, even the soundtrack during the fight.... Best comeback ever

It was mentioned in Rocky II that Apollo does have children, then why didn’t the producers start with that, instead of creating a new character who is an outcast and was adopted by Mary Anne. And til’ the end, none of the kids that were mentioned in Rocky II appeared in the Creed franchise

    🍷 In all honesty, this incarnation of Bill Conti's iconic theme is THE best version ever! Not only due to the faster tempo or the wonderfully added horns but perhaps because we all knew it would be Balboa's last training montage as a boxer ever, it's like visiting an old friend who still has something left to give but we know we will never see them again!! 👍🏻

  • @theaveragegamer8413

    What i like so much about this training scene is you see a tired Rocky, despite all the will he has who can't lift as much as he used to be, but eventually with enough training and patience start to catching up on his youngness and gradually succeeding. The acting is great and well done right here, you don't see a "Superman" magically lifting weight easily but you see a man with a HUGE age barrier in that training and you can clearly see it, especially at 1:12 where he STRUGGLES or at 1:20 failing the weightlifting and Duke saying "don't worry you'll get it" , or 1:26 & 1:40. This is powerful.

    Duke: You know all there is to know about fighting, so there's no sense us going down that same old road again. To beat this guy, you need speed - you don't have it. And your knees can't take the pounding, so hard running is out. And you got arthritis in your neck, and you've got calcium deposits on most of your joints, so sparring is out. Paulie: I had that problem. Duke: So, what we'll be calling on is good ol’ fashion blunt-force trauma. Horsepower. Heavy-duty, cast-iron, piledriving punches that will have to hurt so much they'll rattle his ancestors. Every time you hit him with a shot, it's gotta feel like he tried kissing the express train. Out of all the training montages, this has to be my favorite. It shows that a man, no matter how many struggles he has, he has heart and determination and that can overcome any obstacle that is in the way to the goal he wants to achieve. The Rocky franchise, no matter how silly it can get sometimes, is still some of the best movies in the history of cinema.

    The thing I always loved about this is that it is theoretically feasible that Rocky's "hurting bombs" would be a thing in real life - older men tend to have much higher bone density than younger men. Because of this, it's entirely plausible that Rocky's hands would have more mass to them and make them much more effective at doing damage than Mason's hands. ...Essentially, Rocky is weaponizing his old age against Mason. It's beautiful.

  • @bradycryer3276
    @bradycryer32764 жыл бұрын

    It's interesting how the goals of Rocky's training here differ from all his previous training sessions. While in the past he could afford to assume that he would have rough parity with his opponents in regards to speed, this time his opponent, Mason Dixon, would be guaranteed to be faster than him by virtue of being in the prime of his life while Rocky would be in his 60s, and had been retired for more than a decade on top of that. No matter how many punches Rocky threw at him, Mason WOULD throw more at Rocky. So he disregards speed. If Rocky would never be able to beat Mason on points, then the Italian Stallion would have to make sure every one of his punches that connected would HURT to a far greater degree than Mason's punches. It's just like Tony said. "So what we'll be calling on is good old-fashioned blunt force trauma. Horsepower. Heavy-duty, cast-iron, piledriving punches, that'll have to hurt so much, they'll rattle his ancestors. Every time you hit him with a shot, it's gotta feel like he tried kissing the express train. Let's start building some hurting bombs."

    Out of all the Rocky Balboa training montages, this is my favorite one. I don't know why, I love them all but this is the one that really pumps me up to train hard.

    The Italian Stallion's training sessions are inspirational, not only is he working on his body for his health but to apply that body toward a goal that he sticks to with all his heart and soul, that is building character.

    3:19 I always like to imagine the people driving by are one of the kids from the 2nd movie all grown up and they pull to the side to see rocky running up the steps and say themselves "he still got it 😁"

    It's not matter how old you are , as long as u can still deliver a punch to the face then you have to keep training and fighting , not against your opponent but against your own age and time . Thank you rocky I will try to remember that 50 years later if I would be alive until that

    What an awesome training segment. Almost shed a tear the first time I saw this in theatres after all those years once again seeing Rocky train to the theme song pushing past his limits and never giving up. So friggen motivational!

    I was going through a extremely tough time a year ago, but this scene would always give me the strength I needed. I can't even tell you how much Rocky means to me, and how this movie got me through a dark time, I'll always love this.
