For the non Liverpool fans who don't understand the hype, his 60.81% in 467 games win ratio says it all. Real fans watch every game and he removed the gloom and gave us something to look forward to. Trophies are wonderful but they're ephemeral, the journey is the real pleasure in being a football fan, watching your team win matches and in style.

They don't understand the hype because they don't know where the club was 9 years ago. The club was damaged, the fans did not believe in the club, the squad was very average, the training facilities were aging, the stadium needed love. There was clear divide between the players and the fans. Klopp came in, made the very average squad play at a higher level than anyone thought possible and also challenged the fans to do better. The squad marginally improved in his first few seasons, the team became possible the best offensive team in Europe whilst also being the weakest defence - a huge glass cannon. Just about every signing improved the team, combined with youth players. The club now has some of the best players in world football in every position. The squad 9 years ago had Skrtel, Moreno, Mignolet, Joe Allen. Player that would struggle to get onto Burnley's bench. The owners do not have the money of Man City, yet the club competed with them, pretty much every year of Klopp's tenure. That is why the fans hold him in such a high regard. He leaves everyone and everything better than he recieved.

All those sad little commentators bleating on about "too few trophies" miss the entire point(s). Firstly, football is as much about stories as anything. And boy, did Klopp leave so many of those. Moments - and games - that will live on in the memory long after the silver tarnishes.

@@Chzydawgvery well said! Exactly my points are. He has changed the mentality of Liverpool FC as a business unit, not only trophies and the way football being played on the pitch. He united and integrated all elements of how a football club should be managed, from players, coach team, support team, fans, owner, facilities improvement, financial acumen in buying and selling players, media handling, instilling never give up mentality in every aspect of LFC. In short, he turned all elements in LFC, from doubters to believers. No football manager has done that before, except probably Sir Alex Fergusson.

I grew up in a small seaside town and supported Arsenal from an early age (not entirely sure why, Liam Brady probably) so I get to enjoy great football without being too resentful or tribal if it’s played by somebody else. The football Liverpool played under Klopp, from day one, was absolutely incredible and was a joy for any true fan of football to watch. The rivalry with City was of course central to these years but there were so many great games, the 4-0 against Barcelona being perhaps the ultimate moment of Klopp’s time in this country. Thanks Jurgen. It was a very special time and we will never forget 🙏

ITS NOT NORMAL FOR MOST MANAGERS but Klopp is not a normal manager, he has had this same love everywhere he has managed.. Go look at how much he was loved at Dortmund or Mainz.. Klopp put Dortmund on the map & look where they still are today.. This is not normal but its is the norm for Klopp.. The guy is an amazing man..

The club he leaves is in a much better state than the club he joined. The clubs infrastructure, the stadium, the supporters, the staff that are staying, the players…everything has improved so dramatically. Every player on the team sheet has won something significant, has the experience, has the motivation and skill to succeed again, the same could not be said about the team he inherited. Opposition plastics and trolls will call him overrated, but the fact of the matter is he brought success back to Anfield in a time where supporters were giving up hope.

And not only that.. He did thay not once, but twice...With Borusia Dortmund, as well.. Always competing against Pep, and always enheriting run down team and brought both clubs back to former glory... Pep always enherit a champions club with a 5-time bigger budget than Klopp... People overlook that...

@@thezoran6868Thank you! Pep always did it with big clubs with deep pockets (Barça, Bayern, City) would love to see him do it with a small club (Mainz) like Klopp did and got them promoted to Bundesliga without having to spend tons of money.
