The good thing about 4.0's MSQ is that the negative feedback prompted the devs to promote the writer for the DRK & Azim Steppes questline (the part that players actually liked about Stormblood) to lead writer for Shadowbringers and Endwalker

The thing is STB isn't just disliked. It's also very much liked. Its just the negative people are that loud. I don't like shadowbringers (it's best expansion based on content tho, StB just after it) Stormblood legitimately has the best zones (as a whole) and the best characters (this one 100%)

I don’t get emotional from games but Shadowbringers and Endwalker brought out sympathy and dread I’ve never felt playing a game before. I loved the DRK job story more than any other job and the story truly got better after HW and doubled in quality in SHB.

Maybe because ARR pre-revamped was extended so damn long,the negativity of part of SB story didn’t affect me at all P.S I start playing this game at the beginning 5.1(one patch away from ARR revamp) and still have no idea how I could endure it until I started to like the story at the end of post-ARR

Fun fact: I immediately broke out with covid when I was done recording Grynewaht and Gosetsu, coughing up a lung and developing flu symptoms. Thought I at the time before I knew it was covid, "that's what you get for voicing the two loudest characters in the video." 😜

What’s funny about Hien’s line about “stealing it from Cyan” is that he didn’t steal it so much as inherit it In Japanese Cyan’s name is Kaien and his son who dies is named Shun Kaien is Hien’s father’s name and Shun was the name he had in childhood Just a fun reference lost because of 90’s localization

Well...if you are only counting the Ala Mhigo campaign for liberation, then yes, that was their first real victory, as helping a few villages ease their day-to-day burdens doesn't count, getting a few extra recruits is cool but not really substantial, and destroying those prototype mechs was a symbolic victory at best.

My favorite part about this is taking at least three parts to finish is it emulates your feeling replaying Stormblood on an alt.

The only problem with buying a story skip is that you miss Azim Steppe.. Which is good enough that you almost want to play the parts before it just to enjoy it..

Next expansion is going to be a big win for Hyurbert, the scions actually become useful and help in dungeons and he gets a sweet 5 o'clock shadow

Lyse will return...in Endwalker...for like 2 MSQs and that first part of Tower of Babil.

All we get is just a bunch of characters horribly singing at the very end of this story arc...... Yeah I'm with that 1 player the warrior of light really should have bought the story skip lol. Which speaking of which I like how even he was wanting to get to the shadow bringer arc because man was this hilarious. We got the crazy psychopath who likes to fight we got the one guy who took all the credit for our main character's victory and we got the legion of doom stuff. Can't ask for anything more than this but fantastic job on this parody is always and props on the use of Fire emblem three Houses music and the Disney joke!

This was a ton of fun to watch, and bonus, Stormblood (and Lyse) are over

Its fun watching these because I am currently playing through XIV for the first time, so coming back to watch them later will make it even more hilarious. I have not finished ARR yet but I'm getting there

Great video, thanks to all those involved in making it! I don't care what others think, Stormblood still remains my favorite expansion. The ending where they sing the anthem and raise the flag is my favorite scene in the entire game. Can't wait for Shadowbringers, I hope you guys go as hard on it as you have for the other FFXIV videos.

If this viewer/fan may make a suggestion for when covering/parodying Shadowbringers (at least ShB Part 1): There are CLEAR parallels between KOTOR/SWTOR and early ShB in "The First", whereby Eulmore = Nar Shaddaa (Vauthry CLEARLY a Hutt), the rest of Kholusia = Nal Hutta, Amh Araeng = Korriban and the "eaters" = (wait for it....) RAKGHOULS!!! Of course, Eulmore could also double for "The Hunger Games", with the fat-aunt-from-Harry-Potter-3-looking patron being akin to Hoffman's sponsor in that story! Amaros look like they're based off of "Eragon", too (or "How-To-Train-Your-Dragon")! If they breathe fire, maybe parody the scene from Harry Potter 2 where Hagrid's beard catches on fire from Norbert's breath? The scene with Tesleen reminded this viewer of that WinonaRyder-entry in the "Alien" franchise with how that "eater" ended up looking. Seriously, take a side-by-side comparison of it vs. the "son" of SigWeaver's "Ripley" character in that movie. "Mah-maah!" /Goldfingered out the Windu! The mound-house in the second-to-last opening-shot of Il Mheg also bares a striking resemblance to "The Shire"! The introductory Nu Mou homeland after going invisible is straight out of the "Jockey-elf land" that "Homer" is dragged to in the "Duncan the race horse" episode of "The Simpsons"! Mayhap there be a musical number with "Moleman" saying "No one can escape the fortress of the moles" beneath New York City, er, Il Mheg? =) SOYLENT-GREEN-IS-PEOP....er...."Meol" IS PEOPLE! (By way of sin-eaters) Vauthry's raising them like cattle! Some of the beings in "The Tempest" area, under the sea, if it is to be believed that the main party is adventuring throughout that zone inside a giant bubble, full of air....unless "Solus"/"Emet-Selch"/"Hades" was adamant about them seeing the facsimile of the destruction of Amaurot before their demise, as he desired, one could've just burst the bubble they made and drowned most-all of the heroes after entering the zone! Also, most-all of the beings down there require water to breathe oxygen in through their gills, and wouldn't normally survive on land, surrounded by air, thus, they wouldn't survive inside a bubble either, creating a plot-hole of why there are sea monsters to slay inside a bubble. ...And finally... The shades of civilians in Amaurot look like the spitting image of "Mr. Burns" in the episode of "The Simpsons" whereby he gets full of medicine and wanders out into the forest while glowing, and people think he's an alien. "He's bringing love, don't let him get away!" (Was that the kind of love between a man and a woman, or the kind a man has for a fine Cuban cigar?) [Sidenote: As much as HW and the early part of the Rak'tika campaign were veiled criticisms of the Roman-Catholic-Church, this far, far, far superior ShB campaign is rife with illustrations that cynicism (such as "Ran'jit" upholding Vauthry of his own volition), hedonism, and nihilism, "moral relativism" and "the ends justifying the means" and seeing others not as their own "end", but merely a means to one's own end, are NOT sustainable business models, which, despite the producers being "classical liberals" and still believing in "small government", when, in fact, "minarchy" does not exist, as a libertarian/AnCap-minded individual, this is quite pleasing to see! This player was SO WORRIED that Eulmore was a criticism of capitalism, but, instead, thankfully, it is a criticism of Marxism/communism/socialism by any stripe otherwise, in which dwugz-and-dopamine-hits in the form of dancers and "meol", are used to confound and control the populace, whilst their grifter-in-chief gets fat off of the saps he conned into painting the fence white, Tom Sawyer-style! Charity is not merely given out, it is structured and the likes of "Kai-shirr" learn to stand on their own two feet!] Maybe have "The Simpsons" lawyer parody come out and order a cease-and-desist for at least one of these on behalf of the paralleled? Perhaps "representing the estate of the late, great AkiraToriyama when Ran'jit is moving like "Tao Pai Pai" from "Dragon Ball"? =)

Tbh, Im very surprised that I legit went through the Azim Steppes without being burned out a couple years ago before Shadowbringers released.. As for this nutshell, I expected Zenos to be battle thirsty for Hyurbert. Also that 2nd order after the Nadaam was the best one ever.
