Slightly disagree the first time I heard this song was before I played msq. Anyone who appreciates music as a whole should get the symbology. Although this song has a huge meaning to the game it can easily be applied to anyone's life. If you understand loss then you understand this song.

The significance of your voice in these lyrics cannot be understated. Someone can read the lyrics and sing the words, but it's obvious to me and anyone else who loves this game and the world within that you understand the weight of each word and feel what it means to all of us. Final Fantasy XIV would not be the same game, were it not for your incredible talent. I hope you continue to work with Soken and the FFXIV team, because these songs were meant to be sung by you. On a far more personal note, I recently lost my best friend and closest confidante, and this song unironically helped me form a better relationship with the inevitability of death. I sure wouldn't have been as ok as I am before hearing this. May you ever walk in the Light of the Crystal.

Reading this actually made me teary eyed. When I was recording this I was reflecting on the inevitability of death, the completions of cycles, and what lies beyond. I'm sorry for your loss. I lost someone very close to me too around the time the expansion released so I understand your feeling.

This is going to sound really stupid but I used to work in a hospital, over the years I saw so many patients pass away I stopped feeling anything when it happened, it's a horrible feeling believe me.. towards the end of my time there my grandmother passed away, the last of my grandparents, I loved them all dearly but I found myself unable to be sad, or cry because of how desensitised i had become to death. I really hated myself for that and I've carried that for nearly a decade. I don't know what it was, but hearing you sing this song so beautifully made me think about my grandparents and especially my grandmother and that was it, flood gates opened. I've never cried like that in my life but i feel so much better for it, so thank you, from the bottom of my heart. we're so incredibly lucky to have you sing for us ❤

If you ever doubt yourself or the path that you took, I bid you remember this: your work and voice have touched the lives and hearts of countless others, that your legacy will forever live on the memories of so many people. I have a son with CP, now nearly 18months old. He's clumsy and quite active but between this song and Tomorrow and Tomorrow; he stares intently and stops moving completely. He seems to really love music like his mother and I but these two songs capture his attention in ways nothing else has so far. We love your music! 🥰

My mother passed years ago. She was an opera and broadway singer, and your voice is uncannily close to hers in pitch and tone. When I heard this in-game, I had to step back to keep the waterworks from being too bad. Thank you so much for the memory.

When this started playing while saying goodbye to Hydaelyn, it's just impossible to not cry. I don't know how many hours I'd been going for when I hit that point, but the meeting with Moenbryda's parents had just happened previously, so you've already been crying at that point. It just keeps going.

You're not the only one. Endwalker release a couple of days of receiving my mother's passing as well, but playing Endwalker while grieving was probably one of the best things I did for myself (was going to do it regardless xD). A distraction of course, but the themes, morals and lessons presented in Endwalker helped me so much. NGL, seeing Alphinaud and Alisaie loved by their mother made me cried for mine's but man, it was such a beautiful experience and correlation to what was happening to me at the time. Endwalker was such a beautiful and hurtful time for me, as in my mind, was the mark of the "endwalking" for my mother and what she meant to me and my siblings and what she meant to us and the love she spread to everyone she met. And no less, FLOW represented that so much for me. Oh how I would love to go back into the past to see my mother once again to tell her how much I could have become and all the things I achieved or hope to become and achieve lol T_T Not a day that goes by that I don't just want to cry like a kid on the floor in a tantrum state because I no longer have my mother, but as XIV well represented, and again, FLOW, you have to move forward, both with sorrows and achievements both in the past and to the unknown future and take on what you have both learn and bequeath upon by those who came before us, and know that you will wake, on winds that will rise again, for this journey's end, is but one step towards to tomorrow.

The entire soundtrack for this expansion broke me. My mother passed in December two days before early release and all the mother motifs associated with Venat and Hydaelyn especially with this song just hit hard: it felt like she was singing through you to me. This and Close In The Distance were like gut-punches with how close to home they hit. Thank you for contributing to your voice to this wonderful game and for putting voice to my feelings that I myself couldn't find.

So, I won't lie. Going through the comment section, everyone has said what I want to say to the nth degree. I'm sure you can tell how deeply this song resonates in general. My own personal experiences have led this to be one of the only times a song from a video game has had such an impact on me. It could be timing, it could be the general feel of this whole expansion, it's topics, the music making it transcend in a way I've come to expect and also continually be surprised by at the same time, or it could just be the magical nature of it all, but for me, this song was already one of the most touching things I have ever heard. I love it. It resonated with me personally while I played through Endwalker, and re-watched streamer after streamer walk to the End as well. It genuinely still makes me cry even now. But then my step-father died really unexpectedly. This one song has genuinely been one of the only things I can listen to now and think of him, reminisce on the past, and reflect without the ever-present 'what ifs' that usually really hurt too much to think on. I hope, one day, that maybe you try XIV for yourself, and are able to experience some of what we mean, but even if you never do, know that you've achieved everything an artist dreams of. Touching the hearts of everyone you sing for, making the emotion you feel ring so strongly throughout, so that, even when everyone comes to this from all manner of angles, they all feel it the exact same way. We're really happy you decided to do as much as you have been for our dev team, and that you work so hard to make sure you're singing the best you can! When she hits the part " I'll catch your tears " I can't even see because of the flowing rivers coming from my eyes, such a beautiful song and perfectly captures the moment you hear it for the first time. Its light and happy, hopeful for the future and yet sad and goodbye. Thank you, Amanda, for making this moment unforgettable.

My great grandmother recently passed away from Dementia and this song reminds me so much of her. My mom had me when she was a teenager so my great grandma retired to raise me. Endwalker's themes have helped me heal from losing her. Without your music everything would have been so much more difficult. My thankfulness can't be expressed enough in words. This may sound weird, I hope not. My mom passed away in 2017 and I still miss her everyday. My dad passed away earlier this year and I miss him so much too. Whenever I'm feeling sad and hopeless I listen this song, and its incredibly motherly, caring and loving tone reminds me of them -my mother specially-, and it helps calm me down. I cannot tell how much deep into mi soul you got into me . Not having a mon or a good dad make mi love and pain playing ff14 was soo cruel and beautiful . But your voice it's that make it all happen . i've being playing video game since 1985 and it's the first time i go out and chek too see who was behind that angelic voice , and wanted too say thank you from the bottom of mi heart . Too give me that illusory feeling that only a mother can give .

So, I lost my mom in Feb 2021, and when I hear this song I am taken back to sitting next to her in her last days and her saying "Things will be good again, I promise." Honestly I never thought I'd see the day a song in FFXIV would be as amazing and as meaningful as Answers but Flow sits comfortably side by side with Answers at the top of the FFXIV music mountain.

Got to hear her sing this live today at Distant Worlds in Seattle. It's crazy to think that she sounds so outstanding in the recording but live was so ephemeral and transcended. Her voice is so amazing!

I don't know whats more enchanting, the beautiful voice or the elegance of Amanda.

You know, if my 14 year old self heard this, you would have definitely been as much as an influence as Sarah Brightman when it came to my passion for singing. Your tone and timbre are always so clear, and it's such a delight to hear everytime. Know that your voice means so much to so many. You will inspire hundreds in turn. This song, coupled with the scene, made me cry for the first time since my father passed many years ago. It's a song of weariness and sorrow, but also, love, hope, and even victory. The long road has been walked, the night is deep, but the glimmer on the horizon promises a new dawn.

There's such a piercing, near-tears quality to your voice in the last two(?) verses delivered with such control that I cannot help but be transported back to our farewell to Hydaelyn. And, in much the same way to many of the other comments, that scene and your performance of this song brought me to peace with losing my grandmother last summer. I did not get to truly say goodbye, but hearing this as I said those words to Hydaelyn, everything I wished I could have told my grandma... emotions overflowed, and I felt as though *her* light was carried out to sea. I felt free to step forward into tomorrow. Thank you.

She was there from the beginning of my journey when i started this game so many years ago and this game has changed my whole life. EW changed my whole perspective of my own life and hardships. I really felt like i lost a mother during that meeting with her. No game has ever made this man cry like a baby like this game has. Such beautiful work.

You dont know how much i listened to this by chilling in my fc house and i will never get bored of it. It is so sad that we will never see crystal mommy again. Thank you for this beautiful work

There's a lot of mediums to find meaning in. Some find it in text, some find it in the visage of a loved one or parent, and some find symbolism in the words sung by another. To us, this is the reminder that every one of our character's actions had meaning to someone, and we are then embraced for everything we have done, or tried to do. Thank you for bringing the emotion of how every soul in our beloved game was not in vain, and how all of our sacrifices will carry on in weight and influence for the better of tomorrow.

Hi Amanda, I don't know if you still read the comments but I just want to thank you for the amazing performance you did for this song. this song really meant the world to me, I've been struggling with depression for so long, every single time my mind sunk into the abyss I start listening to this and it gave me the sense of relieve and somewhat comfort, I've lost people that are very important and close to me, I was unable to recover fully from it. but this song really gave me peace and comfort. while I'm typing this I am still struggling with my emotion and I've lost count of how much I've cried to this song ever since Endwalker released, FFXIV is the only place where I have a peace of mind.. me and my character is the only comfort place where I can somewhat enjoy myself and to keep my thought from the struggle and loneliness. thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

You literally have my dream job. Ever since I started playing Final Fantasy as a child I've wanted to play the music and be part of the choral pieces in the games. When I was in high school our director let me put forward the hymn from FFVII Advent Children as a song a few of his senior singers sang in competition. Our school swept the awards that year and got 1st overall. It's beautiful. The jazz influences in Japanese composition also harkens back to the vocal jazz groups I emulated growing up in groups. New York Voices, The Real Group, etc.

This song and the lyrics never fail to get me emotional. Your beautiful voice lends the song such an impact. Thank you!

Hydaelyn's entire life, she spent, burdened with the guilt and pain she felt for sundering the world, knowing it was the *only* way Azem could be reborn to find the hope and determination to carry on, watching as countless lifetimes and incarnations of them passed, knowing the end was coming and time was short, this song really captures the relief she felt knowing that Etheirys was safe with her defeat. Thank you for singing this. This song, this whole segment of the story, it brought real joy and elation. Thank you for bringing true life to Venat and her plight with this.

Even though I finished Endwalker back in December, I still have reasons to cry over it everyday and today it was this. I've been obsessed with this song ever since I heard it on our first duel with Venat and I even bought the Endwalker OST just to hear this song more. Thank you so much Amanda for singing the most memorable and impactful songs in FFXIV. They have not only helped convey the feelings behind the story in the game but also helped me greatly during some times of personal strife. Of course Soken-san did an amazing job with the lyrics and composition as always but its thanks to artists like you who manage to convey those feelings from the notes themselves properly to the audience. I may not be great at articulating my feelings into words but I wished to convey my gratefulness somehow.

I lost my best friend and FFXIV duo in 2019. He sadly lost his fight to depression and no matter what I tried I could not keep him here. I didn't get to play Endwalker with him, but this song somehow sounds like a message from him and I cry no matter how many times I hear it - it brought me a little bit of closure, at least for the adventures we had together in this game.
