It seems like they will extend the free trial with an expansion when the next expansion comes. So ShB might be free trial when 8.0 is about to come out or when its been out a while.

Ah also you are getting into some of my favorite bits of writing in 14. By about 1/3rd through Stormblood they started giving Ishikawa more responsibility, and she did some of my favorite ARR, and Heavensward content. She was responsible for Rogue quests, up to Alchemist level 50 quest, all of Dark Knight quests, Crystal Tower, Binding Coil, Coerthas msq, 3.2 and 3.4 msq, for all of the Steppes and Doma. Then she became the lead for MSQ for all of Shadowbringers, and Endwalker. So naturally I was really excited for those expacs. Considering all the stuff she did before I loved the hell out of.

I will say, take your time with Final Fantasy XIV. There is no need to rush, and you'll finish out Endwalker even at a casual pace, well before Dawntrail releases. I enjoyed your reaction, and I am happy to hear you're enjoying it so far. The floor tastes wonderful, by the way. -A Dragoon Main

Mad respect for Dragoon mains. It's such a fun class, I went through all of HW with Dragoon and loved it. I just tried out O4S and O12S this past weekend, and hearing that nothing in the MSQ gets nearly that technical or difficult means I'll have an easy time coasting through the game. I'm loving the story, and right now on the cusp of Shadowbringers I'm so ready for the next expansion. I have to go back and do ARR, HW, and Stormblood Hildebrand first though because there's apparently world state changes.

We honestly don't know much about the futuristic city either, as what was shown in the trailer for it was empty of objects and NPCs, as they where too spoilery according to YoshiP, and it looks nothing like Allagan technology, so there's next to zero chance it's them. Only thing they told us is that it's the second player hub of Dawntrail, similar to previous endgame hubs like Mor Dhona, Idyllshire, Rhalgr's Reach, etc. And it's situated in northern Tural, which is the equivalent of the United States, and the world map still had clouds over what should be Canada.

There’s a short story on the Lodestone about how Estinian got his new armor, you also see him in it if you do the Stb Drg quests, Drg quests are pretty good in general

EStinien has a custom gae bolg-like spear. It has an extra wing on each fo the large wings and the head is a curved blade instead of a long cone.

the mamool-ja is a race that comes to eorzea to prove their mettel, so as to qualify for the competition that their doing in this expansion

I don't get why some people get mad that players still progging earlier MSQ have jobs at level cap. It's difficult to not have at least one job capped, you get so much EXP just by playing the game. That's happened to every single one of my alts without even trying, I usually cap around 1/3 through Heavensward :V

It's especially difficult to avoid that kind of situation when I was on some of the empty or new servers at the time. They had an experience boost on them. Plus all the xp you get from doing MSQ, and if you swap jobs, there is the armory bonus. So it's really kind of unavoidable.

I agree. Heck, this was what I did every time I finished one of the expansions myself. I'd view that post-expansion period as my WoL taking some downtime between incidents to just relax, I mean you've just been through a world-shaking event, who wouldn't want to take a breather after that? Then, when I felt I made enough progress in other stuff, I'd proceed to the next expansions story content. It made for a much more organic, and involving, way to experience the story. Plus newer servers having the road to 90 buff makes it almost impossible not to level cap way before you hit endwalker content. Couple that with the fact that lots of players like to follow the thematic class path of the WoL from the trailers (so starting from warrior, then dragoon, then samurai, then dark knight and paladin) and you have players leveling new classes specifically so they can play through those new expansions as the poster classes of those expansions.

I'm probably going to shake things up a bit when I get to Shadowbringers here soon. I might go in as Reaper, honestly. This makes it so that I can learn Reaper for the grinding and learning I want to do, like Raids and EX content because Reaper and Samurai seem to flip flop for highest Physical DPS in game, and to just have a really cool class I can use during it. My Dark Knight is 50. I went with Warrior with a secondary option of Paladin as my Tanks of choice so far.

Yeah, I was just monk for ARR and i didn't hard level or anything, just moseyed through the MSQ, and I was still like lv80 by HW.

No, its not debated why we are going to Tural. It's obvious for anyone who finished 6.5 and watched at least first fanfest. Probably not the best idea to talk about 6.x-7.x story if you are still in 4.x as you simply have no idea what a great gap of lore is between these expansions. World is not as you know it.

Those lizard people are mamool ja. Mercenaries by trade as seen in FFXIV. But they were also in FFXI as one of the main forces against the aht urghan empire, and would play a role in the beseiged event every now and then

Hi! Welcome! Thanks for the support! I started uploading my VODs towards the end of ARR. Some of the old ones are rough to watch, but starting from the final ARR VOD going forward is pretty consistent. I have up through 4.4 uploaded to the channel with double "Final Fantasy Fridays" every week on Tuesdays and Fridays. I had to move it off just Fridays due to Dawntrail being so close. You can find them over on Kizuna Kip TV. I would've assumed 6.4 and 6.5 would've set that up, that's been the pattern for the patches I've seen for HW and Stormblood. I'll get there eventually, I'm aiming for Dawntrail by release. I'm currently going into patch 4.5.

@@KipReacts Normally yes but with 6.0 wrapping up the entire story they didn't want to spend 5 patches setting up the xpac so they setup something else alongside it. 6.4 onward still gives the hints to what's to come with 6.5 and now .55 will give the in game reason

We know what the story is about from the fanfest reveals but wont talk about it here because spoilers 😊 A shame you have been spoiled for some stuff in the future but even so its a wild ride. Also there will probably be a story skip availiable up to Dawntrail. They have made the last expansion skippable when they release a new one. So when EW came out you could buy a skip for ShB. I don't recommend it. But its possible.

Been in love with the game since early days of ARR (got in like around 2.2? I think?) and have been subbing in and out due to work schedule. However, have been gladly paying the sub as FFXIV does not make me feel left behind even if I just log in a few hours a week or just peek in and out during events. I can go at my own pace and do whatever I want - craft stuff, kill mobs, collect glamour pieces and train to be an all-rounder with all Jobs XD It feels like the other FF titles where the story is one of the major part, but the MMO aspect and gameplay makes me like it more. XD Would love to see what Dawntrail brings, and can't wait to see the glow up of its denizens with the graphics update haaha Also would like to try the artsy Splatoon Mage - quite love its aesthetic and maybe we can have an paint an attack portrait of the Scions' coinkeeper throwing gil for damage.

XIV is one of those games I'm okay justifying the Sub fee, I just don't buy another AAA game during that period if I'm really strapped.

​@@KipReacts Absolutely. I feel that the sub is worth it as we get polished content that doesn't feel like a beta test. While some may argue that it might not be worth it, I think of it as pitching into the pot that goes into the wages of the people behind CBU3, server upkeep and maintenance, and development costs for future patches and expansions.

It's about as spoiler as Wondetous Tales can be. If you don't know Hydaelyn is a fight, you can get spoiled. Google ruined that surprise for me trying to remember the spelling a while ago. But, you're really splitting hairs with that in regard to what is and isn't a spoiler.
