@@bnoobwillsetyoufree Honestly I think less than 2 hours I think. I ended up getting one more the next day so my whole party could equip one. 3/6 characters of mine are now level 99. Taking on all the optional bosses and a few hunts left and I gotta say this game is worth the money with how much content it has. Its crazy how huge this game is. Im 150+ hours in.

So each time you successfully stole a ribbon, you had to restart trial mode from the beginning and work your way up to stage 49 again because your autosaved game is gone, right? How can you get 3 ribbons in just two hours?

Got my first Ribbon with this! Thanks for the guide! Whew, this platinum is gonna be a lot less annoying now.

I got my first Ribbon on the first attempt, 2nd attempt was a bit difficult cause I’d failed like 10-13 times & had to reload trail mode 49. I finally got them both for my Uhlan/Time BattleMage for Basch & for my FoeBreaker/Red BattleMage for Ashe. All of your tutorials have been really helpful to me Fuzzfinger, thank you.

You can get Wyrmhero Blade in Stage 50 which is amazing for Mages and one of the strongest weapons for bosses with White Robes. Anyone can equip it, grants auto Bravery and Faith. The best weapon for Zodiark and Hell Wyrm. Also equip Cat-Ear Hoods for Stage 1-48, you get a few million Gil in the process.

Spent around 1 hour to reach stage 49, aproximetlly I spent between 15 and 30 min to steal Ribbon for each character. Thank you very much for guide 🙂

Just did this on the xbox one version of the game totally works took me about 60 minutes to get to stage 49 and then took me 4 tries to steal the ribbon nice !!! Thank u

it used to be that u couldn't have a Ribbon on ur Tank as it blocked Lure effect but TZA has fixed that issue so now it's the true god accessory again

1 will do me for a while. I know I can get to stage 60 as I am, so anything in the pharos and beyond is easy meat.

I've seen guides on this elsewhere however I will say you're is the best so far, you explain everything and the video is not rushed. Thank you. :)

This video is missing one crucial bit of information: do you have to start over at trial mode stage 1 for each new ribbon you want to obtain?

Still works, got one on Sept. 5th 2021. Just takes forever, you get one normally from chests so I will only farm 2 from Hashmal.

How do you exactly farm for the ribbon do you have to start all the way over from trail number one?

I feel like getting the Seitengrat was waaaaay less annoying.

What do I do when I have stolen my first ribbon? Trial mode always confuses me as to what loads and saves to choose from. Do I load the auto again or does that mean I lose the ribbon I just stole. Or do I start trials over again from my last save point in main game? Please help!

Hey Fuzz do you know if we can still use this trick against Hashmal? I just started Trial mode tonight and I’m just wondering if it’s still good to go or not hun.

Tried doing this on the switch version. The quick save acts like a regular save saying if you exit to main menu and load the quick save it will forfeit trial mode and progress. Big upset.

So to save the ribbon in main game u have to finish lv 49 trial, so u get to lv 50. In order to get other 2 ribbons u have to restart trial twice right?

I made the mistake of accidentally saving after killing deathgaze so now I have to farm 2 emperor scales off some of the hardest monsters in the game, thank god I can farm these ribbons though, might make it a little bit easier. Thank you once again dude, I think I end up getting more help from your videos every day xD.

Is it possible they took the ribbon out of the pool there? I played it when it first came out got the ribbon there after 20-30 tries worst case, now ive been trying for 4 hours over three days did not get a single ribbon. got the cuffs and all of course

I'm confused on how to export items back to the main game the right way without losing main game or trial progress I have zodiac age on ps4

I have been at this for an hour and have not gotten a stupid ribbon :(

Does this method work in the OG version? I actually don't even know if Trial mode is an exclusive mode to Zodiac Age

Need the ribbon to take on Zodiark. Been going at this technique for about 2 hours, came back to the video and watched it a half dozen times and read through a bunch of comments. Done everything right but no ribbon at all. First half hour was a little tedious, the hour mark it was annoying, and now I just wanna beat my head against a wall. I believe this trick works, it's just that I don't have the luck today. Anyway I love the video and find it very helpful, just need better luck!

Does anyone know if this works on PC (Game Pass) as well? After spending over an hour trying to max RNG for the Seitengrat only to find out that is a PS4 only thing I am a little skeptical.

After you defeated Hashmal, your stage 49 autosaved game is now 50. So each time you successfully steal a ribbon, you have to start from the beginning of Trial mode and work your way to stage 49 in trial mode again?

Just got my second one today (Oct. 10, 2021). The first one was pretty easy but it took about an hour and a half for the second one. Also, while farming for my second, I had my first ribbon equipped to another party member, so having one equipped doesn't effect your chances of getting another one.

Worked for me, I have 6 ribbons now. Tyvm!

Got one ps5 5/2024 took about 15 reloads after getting to the stage. Second one took 3 reloads! Will work on the third tomorrow. These are so key for the later trial stages. I got to 72, but will restart to get more so my thief can swap back and forth between the thief cuffs and this

Does this work on Xbox? Have notice loot is different in many ways

This methode works. I've got 3 pcs from here + 2pcs dropped for me Lv99 chocobo and 1 I found in Henne Mines. I can't spawn chest in Pharos. Now I have 6xRibbon :-) Remember - If u want to get more than 1 from here u have to overwrite your save and go again from stage 1 till 49 again.

Keep trying in Pharos. I got the ribbon after about 5 times going in and out of that far-West room past the NW door. (Remember to turn right after the last entrance and hug the wall.) Man i gain and lost 3 ribbon and i don't know what i'm doing wrong; after i get the ribbon i kill hasmat and quit the game at the next stage 50 then i reload from the story from the trial save 50; am i doing it wrong? Thanks great videos man. I can only keep one at a time and its frustrating.

Beware doing this in Giruvegan! I went through the whole process after saving at the orange crystal there and ended up logging back into my game (after getting the ribbon and tons of loot!) only to find out the game put me on a chocobo in the middle of the water with no way to move, dismount or anything. Must be a glitch. Re-did everything after saving at Phon Coast and everything worked out perfectly. Whew. That said, thanks Fuzzfinger for these videos!

Glitching get you glitched. no surprise

I got 2 ribbons very easily with like 10 trys. Now he just isn't dropping them. What am I doing wrong?

Trial mode is a life saver. I was in the middle of the Necrohol of Nabudis (under levelled) and Helvinek spawned and caused me lots of trouble and my party was almost all dead so I loaded an auto-save into trial mode, healed up etc.etc., and re-load back into the story and it saved me.

You can steal treaty-blade from a boss i don't remember exactly which one was but it is between floor 40 and floor 46 for sure.

Took me 2,50h in total to get 3 ribbons & 3 wyrmhero blade (trial 50 steal). Still working as of July 2021.

I have been stealing for about 2 hours and nothing but Hi-Either & Elixer... I do have Larsa on my team though, maybe this is somehow stopping this from working?

Could anyone tell me if it's possible to get more than 3 ribbons, this way? It seems to have taken me just over an hour to get the first 3. But now, I've been doing it about the same amount of time. And, I haven't been able to get even 1 more.

Yes, so long as you start from Trial mode stage one each time you can get as many ribbons as you want :)

I got to 49 got a ribbon and got to 50 and got a wrym heroforst try so I went all the way to the vorpral bunny to farm a Zodiac spear then I'm going back for the ribbons

I didnt set my gambits up until the fight started...kill me now 😭😭 😂😂

Awesome guide. One thing to make painfully clear. If you are using Seitengrat weapons on all 3 party members when you reach level 48, disable gambits for all 3 party members. Otherwise it is very (very) easy to one-shot kill Hashmal (the mob you want to steal the Ribbon from) when on level 49. If that happens, then the game will auto-save and you'll need to restart the Trails from the very beginning - not good!

Sorry, just to clarify. Disable the attack gambit for all party members - that way they will not target and one-shot kill Hashmal. You still might want the other standards heals/buffs gambits working. When you hit Trails model level 49, follow the awesome video guide and steal from Hashmal. Do this at the normal game speed. If you don't get a ribbon from the steal, quickly quit to the menu and reload your Trails level 49 autosave. If you do get a ribbon take another drink (lol). One other minor tip, do make a manual save at level 40 when the game offers it. That way, should you accidently get to Trails level 50, you can always reload and skip 40 levels just to get back to level 49. Sigh :)

Yes, need to start from stage one each time. But make sure you bring it into your main game save file and save it before starting again.

Ultimately it's not 100% consistent but once you figure out a good delay for how long it takes you personally to route through the airship to the chest it becomes easier to replicate the success yourself if you're looking to get like 3 of them back to back. watch?v=OuXwYLOk7hE this guy explains further details and how to use the method for a bunch of different items, if you want to familiarize yourself with the process and make sure you're doing things right I recommend trying to RNG manip Gendarme first because you should be able to 100% guarantee gendarme every time consistently unlike seitengrat method on switch.

Hello Ruth, this feature was not available for the original PS2 version. The Zodiac Age is quite a big overhaul of the original FF12 and the two are very different in many ways.
