have you seen the power of that bow ,if you can get it easy and so early in the game ,you ll basically be face rolling the game ,what fun is that? But yes ,the chance could be just a bit higher

Great method, have got 3 in 8 chests, 1 thing i noticed is after a reset wait 20 seconds and go out then back in and if the chest is there on your 1st zoning it will be the bow, got all 3 on my 1st zone chest after reset, hope this helps.

Omg I literally watched this video 2 times before attempting this I got the chest on the 4th zone, waited for the boy 4 times and got my angle exactly like yours and I got the bow on my first attempt!!!! This is so cool thanks for the video!!!

Great vid, Fuzz. I had to close application like 7 times and almost gave up because I thought I screwed up, but it appeared on my 8th time, on my 3rd zone. Also, waited for the idiot kid 4 times. Worked great. Cheers!

Can confirm as of Feb 2019, on digital version, this still works. Took about 7 tries with just 10 gil coming everytime and then, bam, 4th kid to dad magic. Respect,. mate

Got it on my first attempt! About 30 seconds, fifth zone, almost the exact angle and boy stopping for the fourth time. Like a charm. Jesus, my heart is pounding. Thank you for the guide!

Alright. I tested several things, and I ended up getting a Seitengrat by doing the following: Exit out of the game like the video says, then once back in the game, immediately walk around until Vaan's foot hits the ground 32 times (as in, you hear the footstep 32 times), then go in and immediately go out. The chest should spawn within 7 zones, like the video suggests. Then once the chest appears, face the camera toward the mother and once the kid makes his fourth pass, a SPLIT SECOND AFTER HE STOPS, BUT BEFORE HE COMPLETES THE TURN TOWARD THE MOTHER, that is when to hit the X button on the controller. I tried this several times, and only when I hit X at precisely this time was I able to get the weapon (if you're too late, it gives you Gil and too early and it gives you a Knot of Rust).

Oh, and for those of you thinking of farming a bunch of them to sell, don't bother. It's worth 0 Gil if you sell it to a shop. I checked that as well, and nobody seems to mention it on any of their videos, but I thought it was worth making a note of.

First try! Seriously, thank you! I did the 30 seconds and waited for the kid to run back 4 times, and the chest showed up on the 4th zone. The only difference is that it worked with Reddas on my team.

Hey everyone, I think I've worked out all the timing. I have tried this for hours and haven't even been able to get the chest to spawn. So I tried this and after 3 chests I got the damn weapon. Vann only party member Diamond armlet Unequip EVERYTHING but the armlet Turn off AND clear all gambits Rabanastre to Nalbina Sky deck auto save Close game (to dashboard) Load game Timer ready, then load auto save Start timer the first possible frame At 3 seconds move to door Click to open door at 20 seconds Once back inside count to 2 in your head THEN exit back out door Follow the rest of the video as guided. I also tried 7 times before closing application. I went from no chest spawns in over 2 hours to 4 chests within 1 hour. Also never change the speed from normal and have it set in the menu to x2. This is how I did it and I'm going to try this exact method again to see if I can replicate this. Good luck to anyone who gives this a shot!!!

after trying for hours I tried this method and i got a chest within minutes of changing everything. Only got 10 gil but at least i know the Chest exists! Will keep trying!

Wow great walkthough! I tried it and got it literally on my first try with only "1 zone" the chest was there and then the bow was inside the 4th time the kid stopped. I did the 30 second method.

Quick add on: i forgot to change my party i have vaan, fran, and ashe in.

The angle and timing don't seem to matter. Resetting the RNG is the trick. I got the bow on my 3rd attempt and used neither the angle or timing method. I'm playing on the Switch by the way.

Thank you fuzz I can't say how awesome this guide was it was to my luck I seriously managed to get this on my first try in the 1st zoning. Unbelievable. This is real everyone thanks again

Tried with 30s timer a couple times and nothing, but then read that on the disc version it works with 20s... And it worked, first try! Awesome!

I can say this method works! after about 3 hours trying. I was about to give up and i got it on my first run up the stairs! whoo hoo! now for the Tournesol and Excalibur!

to all those who have troubled get this weapon, i'm right here to help you there are easy way how to get seitengrat - start new game - make sure vaan is at level 8 before entering rabanastre palace, so balthier and fran at level 9 (you can farm dustia if you have 3 phoenix down) - when balthier and fran join party for first time at garamsite waterway, set fran as leader because she have cure and unequiped weapon, make save file at save crystal - load game your data and go to skyferre / air deck to make auto save file - close application and start the game again - load game your data at garamsite waterway - number sequence you are going to look for is 114, 110 and 112, in order to get this number hit yourself (fran) 2 times, then start cure, keep cure over and over until you get 114, 110 and 112 number sequence - when you get this sequence, quit the game and load game your auto save file at skyferre / air deck - chest is 100% positively spawn once you go upstairs where chest is - pay attention to kid, after kid go to his dad, and he go to his first stop, once he get there, press X - you get seitengrat note : if you want to get another one, just leave make auto save file at skyferre / air deck, close application, start the game again, load game at garamsite waterway and do same thing. this method is 100% works for me, and its a lot easier, let me know if this method works for you ^_^

I can verify that this works with a PS4 Pro. I was trying all day yesterday with the 32 steps and 20 second ways. This method actually worked. Thank your for posting this video!

Can confirm this method on first gen PS4 slim. I was never able to get a full loop where I didn't have to start from Rab again after the first one; However, if i started from save crystal and followed the instructions, every time I got a chest to spawn and positioned the Camera at that angle, I was able to grab a bow. I have 3.

I tried your method and it worked on the FIRST ZONE. You were spot on with your methods and now I am destroying everything in my path. Thanks!!!

Man, this worked like a charm. I tried your other method using the Reks cure casting trick to manipulate the RNG, but I couldn't get the numbers to pop after a good hour or two of trying. Did this method and, BAM, got it on the first try! Many thanks, my dude, and keep up the excellent work!

Worked for me first try on the 4th or 5th zone after trying the 20 seconds and also the 32 step. Waited 30 seconds, 5th zone, bam. Thanks

I have follow the directions step-by-step and still have not got the chest to pop up been at it for four hours getting very frustrated

Let me tell you, I tried other methods and this one worked on the second try. Being able to zone out up to 7 times highly speeds up the process and other people tell you that you can't fast forward, but I just got a seitengrat!! Thank you kind sir, sub and a share for ya

this Seitengrat bow has been my nightmare since PS2 in 2006. I remember you have to hear PS2 CD spin make some sort of noise to make sure the chest spawn LMAO !

I say it works. I have the worst luck when it comes to video games but this worked.... at least to me. 30 seconds the once you find the chest as soon as you go through the door. Count the boy four times and on the fourth time as soon as he stops in front of his dad press x

Thanks a lot Fuzz. Got it on my 3rd attempt. I'm following along the best I can. On another note, Your FF9 walkthrough was great. It helped me learn to do things I never knew was there on my original run. This is why I'm now following your FFxiiZA. Played the ps2 version years ago, still have it by the way. I've even played through it using the Game Shark. ZA tossed me for a loop though. Thankfully you're doing walkthroughs on KZread Fuzz.

followed Mike Moran from the coments version and works even faster with no timer needed, as soon as you load keep holding down and pressing X so that when vaan spawns goes and open the door quickly and quickly out again, spawned the chest 5 times in a row on the first zone and the first 2 i failed to time the boy but then got 3 bows in a row :D thanks to both Fuzz and Mike :D

I'm playing the U.S. version of the game and I found it on my 2nd try using 20 seconds. I tried with 30 seconds but was not having any luck.

I was getting frustrated because the chest wasn't spawning. Took about 10 game shut downs, 7 zone ins each time. But that 11th time man, 20 second timer, vaan only, first zone in, 4th time kid stops at dad, got it! Thanks so much!

Just to let people now i got this bow with the 20 second wait and i followed the boy with the camera so the whole camera angle being in a certain place doesn't make a difference so i wouldn't worry to much about that.

wow life saver worked on the very first walk through the airship bumped into it and on my first try followng your instruction to detail got the bow not even gonna try to spell it lol

God dammit I was so excited when I finally hit the invisible chest and only got 10 bastard gil. We go again!

Yup this worked, 30 seconds works alot better than 20 seconds for me as well. Still got it after I rode the airship once, but before I talked to Balthier to continue main storyline. Thanks bud :]

i can confirm you do not need to wait the 20 or 30 secs i hv gotten the bow 3 times in a row by just loading up and on the second zone the chest spawn and on the fourth "kid to dad" open chest for bow. 100% guaranteed

All methods I've used so far, vaan actually was not an active member and it works. Just need Vaan equipped with diamond armlet

I CAN 150% confirm that this method works. I just got 3 Seitengrats in 30 min. The boy must stand still at the parent and then press x - not as soon as he stands still. Just let him get there and give it literally a second, then press x. With Diamond armlet equiped and Vaan only active party member. Spawning the chest only works for me on zoning in and out about 10 times, if no chest. Then close application n load again from Airdeck. 2 other things. Must have arrows to equip bows and I have the digital copy... if it makes a difference - PS Thank You FuzzFingers 🖒🤓👏

Great to hear.

After a few resets, I actually got the bow from the chest, first try. This method works. Im guessing this bow most likely was a developer test weapon or it was dummied because it was too powerful. Or it might have been seen as redundant since the zodiac spear was already around.

A floating arrow appears in cerobi steppe in the last area (from the port) next to a tree with the bow equipped. Maybe it's part of it's model?

Just got this on first try. Waited 30s exactly. I tried the 20s method many others have posted and I couldn't even get the chest to spawn after 6 reloads. Waited 30s and it spawned first try and got the bow 1st time. I thought every one was trolling but nope. Literally easy peasy.

Just did it- 30sec wait Only van in party equipped with everything + diamond thing Fourth zone Kid ran four times. And I still have to go to work tomorrow 😢

i keep seeing this done on the uk version of the game, i've tried it for hrs and no chest, does this work on the us version of the game?
