SPOILERS: What I wanna know is why this man was right about EXACTLY what happened at the end of InterMISSION. Like beat for beat; they’re trying to escape, Sonon gets stabbed by his wings and gets dragged into the darkness.

Thanks. I took the color schemes they were using from that part of the trailer and used the knowledge I had of Nero from Dirge to make a great guess. Lol.

Man I honestly can’t wait to see him at Intermission! He’s my favorite tsviet besides Weiss

I LOVE these vids, man. I think people need to hear these takes more often. There are folks who are curious about Nero and Weiss and they're not willing to play the game (which I totally understand) so this is a great break down. I always found it uncanny how Vincent and Nero look so much alike... like they're related. Nero and Vincent look alike, and oddly enough, so does Weiss and Sephiroth look alike. I don't think that's an accident. Also, did everyone notice Nero is the only other character with cat-eyes like Sephiroth does? What's up with that? Edit: And yes-- Nero and Weiss MUST be in Remake for the sake of Vincent's back story. This isn't even debatable. Just like Genesis isn't debatable. They must all be present.

Considering we are just getting a remake of Crisis Core, it's pretty much confirmed that Genesis is involved, much like how Intergrade has kinda confirmed Deepground must be involved in the main story as well.

All the Tsviets derive their powers from the Jenova Cells in Genesis's blood, hence G-cells. That's how they're connected. Also, it's pronounced 'Sfee-etts'. Hope this helps! :) I believe Cloud and company were about to see them in chapter 13 before the Whispers intervened.

All of this with intergrade put me back in the mood to go back and play Dirge of Cerberus again. After finishing another playthrough, It actually bugs me that they just word it as he controls "darkness" which immediately takes the mind to Kingdom Hearts randomness. Looking at him again, I've come to realize Nero is basically a walking weaponized version of two things in OG ff7. One is the scene where Cloud and Tifa fell into the life stream. The story is mako experiments were done on Nero when he was in the womb. Mako is just another word for "life stream". So those are dark life stream waves he releases when he uses his power cause all the mako used on him was corrupt or tainted or something. Or maybe that's what reactor processing does to it. So we know how you fall into the regular life stream, there is a healing, connecting, balancing effect to it that helped Tifa pull Cloud back together or cleanses geostigma. With Nero, if you remember that scene where Yuffie took a full blast from him, first she's drifting around mystified by the abyss she's in, then she starts shrieking and grabbing her head like something is pulling her mind apart. I guess Nero actually does the opposite of regular life stream. If he's not storing and transporting people, he pulls them apart. After Vincent pulls Yuffie out, there's a scene I never understood back in the day. Nero says something about pieces being left behind when he absorbs people. So the opposite of the Cloud experience, he pulls people apart, their minds, their essence, and it all just stays there and adds more mass to the dark waves he sends out at enemies. I couldn't figure it out until now why was Yuffie so appalled by him in that scene. The second thing is Nero seems to be a nod to the final cutscene of ff7 when the life stream comes out to back up Holy and push meteor back. Looking at that intergrade boss fight footage, it does look like Yuffie is running around in a mini black life stream storm with all those tornadoes and tentacle waves. Except there's no meteor this time, it's all coming for you.

Great stuff! Never played Dierge so this was super helpful! Loved the editing in this one btw man

How cool would it be if Nero & Weiss end up being Shinra's answer to Sephiroth & their way of trying to fight him? Imagine a twist ending where it's actually Nero & Weiss who overpower Sephiroth, with the promise from Shinra that if they defeat him, they can go free. This would set up future games as Nero & Weiss being the new supervillains! That would be a pretty dope narrative direction to go in!

Good video. I may consider playing Dirge of Cerberus now. I will be at this point be looking for more videos which may tie together when/how Yuffie and Vincent meet each other.

I’ve been trying to get around to doing videos for the other compilation characters as well.

I realize that his eyes, we’re almost like Sephiroth, but the eye color is dark red (Intergrade) and light red-orange (Dirge of Cerberus), and yes, his resemblance is like Vincent, but unlike him, the hairstyle, the wings, and his appearance (with tattoos) Edited: I really hope Weiss and Nero would meet, hopefully 😑

I hope so baaad that we see those two in the upcoming games Q_Q Weiss is one of my fav chars in ff7

I was really impressed with his wings in the character pic square put out. Like the detail is amazing. They look like they all fold up nicely. And maybe square will continue with the end of DoC. This new series will print money for square.

I love Nero in this DLC. I didn't play Dirge, only the OG FF7, so his and Weiss's inclusion was a completely new experience for me. With that bit of information, whenever Vincent is introduced, I'd love to see him go after, or at least have one fight with Nero. There's no way Square can just leave Nero and Weiss in the wind, is there? That'd be a huge disservice at this point

I have always found the Tsviets interesting. Even in Dirge(I thought that game was a masterpiece when I was 13 or so) Shelke, Nero and Weiss were my favorite. I wanted to know more about them. Their stories were vague even in the online multi-player. Argento the Silver was by far the coolest looking Tsviet. They clearly had something planned for her but I guess due to it being on mobile and the tech being severely limited at the time she was scrapped. All that you knew was she was the creator of all the Tsviets weapons and avoided conflict as much as possible. I hope to see all of them in part 2 or 3.

seeing as we got that snippet of information from the devs..does it not tickle your heart knowing they pretty much killed the idea of multiple/alternate timelines? From what I gleamed was they are using the compilation to enhance the story. In my mind this still keeps your idea of a time loop a very viable option. If the time loop is right than they have so much more freedom to give us the same over arching story but in a new exciting way.

Nero is the DEMON of Deepground with Weiss probably being the Angel

A little late but I think a lot of people don't ponder the fact when Zack returned to Midgar with Cloud it would literally have to be in the past since if Cloud returned alone as in the OG it was way before the sector 1 mission. I think they are showing us a past where Zack did arrive in Midgar and somehow someway he will become Nero 😮 Hence why the Yuffie intermission was introduced. I can't imagine why the whole Weiss, Nero, Deepground storyline would go away for the rest of the trilogy. What sense does intermission even have then in the overall story? I doubt they would just do a nod to people who've played Dirge of Cerberus and leave newbies out of the loop

Hey Ray, do you think that Shinra has already conducting the experiment on creating Chaos and Omega themselves before Hojo actually tried to create Omega? I mean Nero's darkness and Vincent's Chaos are of the same origin, so maybe Nero and Weiss have always been Shinra's conducted Chaos and Omega?

Nero's darkness has the same origin as Chaos, but it's not the same thing: this only means Vincent is immune to it, but Nero is not shown to be able to use Chaos's power. Same for Weiss: I don't think he was created specifically to be a vessel for Omega, since the only people at Shinra who knew anything about Omega were Lucrecia and Hojo, the first of whom became unavailable and the second dismissed it as just a theory until he saw Chaos in person many years later. Plus, if there were any information on Chaos and Omega in the Deepground files, Hojo wouldn't have needed Nero to find Lucrecia's papers on how they work, and if the had wanted to experiment all along they could have taken the protomateria from Vincent's body anytime in the thirty+ years before the game took place. Nero and Weiss (also Rosso) are products of a research to create human weapons, similar to SOLDIER but without the use of Jenova cells: Rosso was the prototype, Weiss was the best result, and Nero was basically the scientists saying "what if we create a new SOLDIER using that thing that killed Grimoire Valentine?"

@@PMbarbieri I am not sure that it was Hojo who told Nero to go get Lucretia's paper. Because Hojo read about it already, and he knows Lucretia in life, why tells Nero to go get these papers after all? It doesn't make sense. Also, if you take a look at DoC online cutscenes, you will see that there is no different between "old" Weiss body and "new" Weiss body, this could mean that Hojo really didn't "enhance" anything to Weiss body at all. And by using Dr. Grimoire's Valentine's work, those scientists in Deepground would probably know about both Chaos and Omega. Because it was Grimoire who theorized that the tainted Lifestream is what gives birth to Chaos, not Lucretia.

@@BuffaloBorgine It was Hojo, through Weiss, who told Nero to get those papers: it's a scene that's in the game, before or after the second battle with him. He needed them because he needed to find the protomateria. As for Weiss, I didn't imply anywhere that Hojo enhanced his body in any capacity. I just said I don't believe he was created specifically to be a vessel for Omega, nor do I believe that Deepground even knew about Omega in the first place. If they did, they would have known that the protomateria was essential to control it, and they would have tried to find it, or at least replicate it, but I don't remember anyone in the online mode mentioning either Chaos, Omega or the protomateria once.

I’m a bit late on this, but it has been confirmed that Nero and Weiss’s relationship is romantic. Because of this, I choose to interpret them not as biological siblings, because that would be awkward. And Nero is a lot like Vincent not just in their darknesses, but their devotion to the one they love (Weiss and Lucrecia, respectively.)

I know a lot of people think Nero is a bit of cringe but I agree with you - his design is very cool. The only thing I wish they'd done with his story is called him a failed Sephiroth clone. Like, he's got the wings, make it one mechanical, he's got the cat eyes... but something went terribly wrong and he became Nero. Weaker than Sephiroth but still too much to control.

Emulation or an original PS2 copy. I don't believe it was ever released as a classic for the PS3 store, or that would be an option.

Nero was designed to be thrown into kingdom hearts im sureee.

"... in a 'this guy needs kind of therapy' kind of way..." About half the cast of Final Fantasy VII desperately needs therapy. So Nero must be _seriously_ messed up!

Good lord... You legit predicted what would happen in Intermission TO THE T! Smart man! And yeah, naturally they don't appear anywhere in Rebirth lol.... Go figure. Narrative malpractice indeed.

I've noticed, Japan really doesn't care much for trying to make their plots easy to digest or understandable to all audiences.... It's a very different approach from Western game devs and movie studios who try their best to create dialogue that makes important plot points easy for all to understand. I HATE that about Japanese narrative writing.... They could stand to do better in that area when only a small part of the population who has done actual research will understand the plots of these games.
