The Advent Children quote translates closer to "link" together rather than implying that the events of 7R will "lead" into AC. Also if it really is true that 7R leads into AC that means the ending of 7R will essentially be similar if not the same as OG. Which really sucks imo since what was the point of all the new story additions if everything essentially stays the same.

Agreed. The purpose of the remake should be to avoid the bleakness of AC and give the characters a better wholesome ending. This way it also links to AC but doesn’t lead to it.

In regards to the stuff about clouds character and what they might do with him going forward, I just want to add that in the flashback section, every time cloud spoke, I could only hear Zack. In terms of what he says and how he says it, it was just Zack to me. Which I thought was a really nice touch, that made the whole sequence more enjoyable to me

I actually made a gimmick Queen’s Blood deck that is OP if you get the right cards. I don’t use it often since it isn’t reliable, but it’s a buffing deck. I can’t remember exactly what cards I used, but I’ll definitely have to showcase it sometime.

Sephiroth straight up tells cloud after the temple that when you mess with fate (like they did in remake) multiple worlds are created. Also, I do think it was implied that there is one Aerith that survived thanks to Cloud, and I don’t subscribe to the idea that it’s all in his head or that she’s simply reapparating from the lifestream. There’s evidence for this too, since the white whispers are able to bring the surviving Aerith back (the iridescent light appears too btw) for the final showdown with Sephiroth, which is why Sephiroth comends Aerith and tells her he underestimated her, implying that even though worlds merged and she dies in all of them, Rebirth Aerith is the exception to this. Also, at the end, Aerith touches Nanaki and he is able to sense her. So I really don’t think it’s all in Cloud’s head. As to why only Cloud can see her, it’s not very clear, but it might be because he was present in the other world after the temple and therefore he established a connection with it. Or maybe it’s because he has the clear materia, which belonged to her. I’m pretty sure they’ll clear that up next time.

I don’t see how the third game can have any name other than “Reunion”. It fits too well.

The end is just cloud blocking out everything he's experiencing and replacing them with fake memories. Or totally removing memories. Just like how he has blocked out zack or replaced bad memories in nibelheim with a fake one. It's exactly how he would behave at this point. My guess is everything will be made clear when tifa walks through the real memories with cloud in part 3. We will see the death, the funeral the childhood flashback, all at the lifestream Edit: forgot to mention the credits. All the snapshots of their journey were there but suddenly at the ending part, there are huge gaps in memories. Exactly how cloud has removed those from his mind

Yes, but it’s more complicated than this as well. The arbiters of fate concept is still the overall lingering backdrop of this entire series. As well as Sephiroth and Aerith’s clear understanding of the grand scheme at play. I think multiple things are happening at once, but it is not solely Cloud being an unreliable narrator. That is one of three major story beats going on right now.

I think we may get something on Angeal OR Genesis in part 3. Probably not both unless the game is really, really big. Or we could get a Zack dialogue hinting at it as a teaser that’s like “Hey, you want to know more about these characters? Play Crisis Core Reunion… **wink wink nudge nudge**” And yeah, I’m glad you guys brought up that we need auto-unique ability as a default. At the very least, make it an option for certain difficulties. If you want to force us to use a ve the assess materia on. Once I unlocked the assess materia earrings, I put those on Cloud to save myself a slot on my weapon. The final fights were quite a bit longer than I’d have liked yeah, but I’m not sure I’d have them be shorter necessarily.

I wouldn't count out Angeal cause we've seen the white feathers drop above Zack.

Sephiroth created them during his time in the lifestream after OG ff7. It’s confirmed in the novel on the way to a smile

Since they changed Aerith death I hope they change the northern crater Clouds meltdown. Let Sephiroth make him give the materia and random fall to the lifestream. Just let Hojo tell him who he is.

They didn't change her death. They just added more to it. I doubt they're changing how Cloud is told he's a clone since they set it up in remake with Hojo telling him that he wasn't a soldier.

@@1999bazz Well added but changed. Aerith is there to make an effect on Cloud. Depending on what theory you believe (now theories are stupid since it will be pretty clear 2-3 hours into the 3rd part) either protecting him or making him break more. But one thing. In japanese when Cloud is about to break she wakes up for the first time and says - Cloud you're ok. Not - its ok. After he sees her before departure he will either be blocked from breaking because she asked him to or Sephiroth will reveal he made that up to full him and he breaks. Either or - he will fall in the lifestream. Dunno if he needs to be broken for the lifestream sequence. He may just say f it. Im a failed clone but I will kill Sephiroth for Aerith.

Good talk. However after listening to Max Dood talks this feels like a Great Value version 🤣 no hate tho. Mean it the best possible way haha

Do have a lot of critique to this game, mainly the open world, materia swapping/lack of loadouts, and combat system being very bullet spongey especially on hard mode, but do agree this game is very much a GOTY contender out the gate. OST though, while the greatest hits remixes were wonderful in select parts I felt like there was too much lemotif to the point where it felt like it was dubbing down mainly for Tifa and Aerith's themes (maybe also the piano minigame talking) and the music outside of a few tracks (Rufus, Jenova Emergent, and especially Gilgamesh) I don't really feel like I want to hum or listen to outside of the game. Certainly think it should be nominated and potentially winning, but we're getting a lot of music heavy hitters this year too. Dawntrail of course composed by Soken who won it last year, Hades II, Destiny 2's 10yr finale, Tekken 8, even surprisingly to me Stellar Blade's OST was a surprising hit. There's going to be competition.

I can tell you right now what that clear materia is used for. Spoilers - but Sephiroth is attached to Cloud via memories. As long as Cloud remembers Sephiroth, then he can exist. Only way to stop Sephiroth from returning again is to kill Cloud, but that will never happen. That’s what the clear materia is for. Cloud will pour his memories of Sephiroth into the clear materia, thus permanently separating Sephiroth from his mind for good.

Thank god i chose to listen to this instead of playing the game cuz this sounds STOOOOOOPID 🤣🤣
