I always have one but a major flaw is having their skill power based on magic attack, or at least that the game doesn't tell u

My favorite Samurai build I called the "Ronin", a masterless Samurai who has practised some banditry. So, a Samurai/Thief, Reflex, Dual Wield, and Probably Move +3. She worked in concert with my secondary Samurai, roleplay wise considered the "true" Samurai, a Lancer/Samurai, Shirahidori, 2 Handed, probably vertical move bonus. The Katana would be a samurai's secondary weapon, so she would only "Draw Out" in certain tactical situations.

I love the samurai class, again 2 mines or one mine with samurai s is my favorite. Two samurai’s with throw item and secondary job as item to recovery the mimes when in trouble.

Unique way to play 👍

You can offset the lower HP from the armor set with mana shield and robes. Since the don't use mana, combining mana shield with Chakra gives you an immortal Samurai as long as you have more than 1mp. A party with 2 of these in it gets Purification as well, and add in a Chemist and/or white mage and you have a party that is Zombie proof, essentially, if you use a female mage and Ribbon. This class is extremely versatile. And you are right, it isn't the absolute killing machine that some other classes are, but they make up for it with equipment availability, I feel. Giving a Samurai a shield is also not a terrible option, as you can essentially proc instant haste and regen every turn team wide and still be immune to most if not all spells, plus physical attacks via Shirahadori. I'd say there are only 2 classes more versatile and overall better as support roles and those are Chemist and Oracle.

That is a really good team comp. I still wish their stats were better but their job abilities are just so good and are so useful in SCC runs. Shirahadori, Kiyomori etc. And thanks so much 👍 looking back and realized there can be some fine tuning and throw in some for fun "builds" too. Thank you to you ⭐✨

3:14 just curious why you'd use Counter instead of First Strike? Also I notice you and most people lower your Faith on non magic jobs but I always have at least 60 Faith cuz I wanna be able to Haste the whole team with my Time Mage without missing, and other things like Protect and Shell EDIT: 4:05 u explained why Counter can be better than First Strike

Thanks so much for watching the whole thing through. I don't like First Strike/Hamedo that much as it mostly just applies to regular attacks and its higher JP cost. To me its just overrated and you won't see it being worth your while. I prefer low Faith so I'm virtually impervious to all enemy magic and enemy magic guns. Of course it depends on your style ultimately and preference. As there are benefits to higher Faith so you can get cured etc. have a white mage cast protect and so on.

I prefer using their Iaido abilities as a secondary for Black Mages. Two words: Tactical Nuke

Yeah its way better anyone with that high MA. I still wish Samurai could use their own skills the best though

For me personally I only get Shirahidori and that’s it…still that one Reaction Ability is arguably the best all-round for new players for the majority of story battles against humans, even with “lower” Bravery (60-70) its super viable. However, again just a personal opinion, I like my Reactions to be retaliations, so I opt more for Monk’s Counter since it works for humans and monsters. To each their own I guess 😅

I can respect that totally. I usually don't have my characters in Samurai as a primary often too just because their inferior stats kinda irritate me lol. But yeah Counter is a fun one and use it for my tanking Samurai build here lol. Its a fun one

Yeah same I wish they had better stats overall too. But their abilities are amazing and the male looks cool

The best team has all members with low faith except that summoner that also has arithmetics and mastered all mage classes. Marak is a perfect mage slayer with the correct build, while also being a mage (i call him "der Hexenhammer".)

This is true because as a Black Mage your MA will be so high lol but I still found using Iaido on a Samurai early on in the game does decent damage and with Raging Inferno later
