The Japanese physical copy of the game has full English and defaults to it if your system language is set to English. It's so nice!

You're on a Final Fantasy marathon! I never did finish playing through 3 on the DS. I really should. I never got very far in it before I sorta forgot about it.

the game is quite easy, but last boss is insane

You can actually buy a japanese import of this game and it will work on your PSP. I have tested this. As long as your PSP is set to english you can play it.

The PSP is region free, no matter what language you put your PSP on.

@@Bloodreign1 i think they mean the game would change language from Japanese to English. The psp is region free but if it didn’t support English the Japanese version would only be in Japanese.

@@JeanRodo I didn't find out the game plays in English till after I wrote my original comment. Tracking down this game on Ebay from a US seller has been an impossible chore so far.

I love the job system

I had the DS version but sold it ages ago. I'll probably get the Steam version eventually, although I wish they'd translate the NES version for VC.

I don't think they ever will. The Vectrex may objectively be the second best gaming console ever invented, but it does not have all that good a market share.

Steam version is the worst version of this game. I think DS one is the best though Android is ok. Not played PS Vita one, but its probably decent, and having original soundtrack is also a cool bonus

@@sylvierose2799 I actually got PSP FF3 which i am playing now. And you are right. Job grinding is way easier than when i played on the other ones. Not bad. Probably best version of this game!

I've watched Ebay for around 2 years for a US seller selling the PSP version, and so far no luck. I don't want another Puchi Carat PS1 ordeal, 12 years to finally snag a Japanese version on Ebay from a US seller for a good price.

Does the DS version also allow you to switch between original NES and new soundtrack or is that option exclusive to PSP version?

Damn your first FF game? My first FF game was FF10 but the remastered version! Playing FF15 Ff15 right now and almost done with X-2 remaster. FF3 story is not bad at all. The job system is what makes FF3 so good but story is decent probably not the best of the FFs storywise but it isnt the worst one either. Give it a shot. I'm looking into getting a PSP so I can buy FF1, FF2, FF3 and FF4 + FF4 After Years once i'm done with the older FFs from 7-9 and 13 trilogy plus the Anthology collection for 5 and 6.

Start with 4 prolly the psp version is the best id say 4 gets you hooked on the final fantasy storyline and the gameplay

@@Melbester9 either buy (or have) an android phone, play any version (except pc) of ff1-ff9..tactics, crystal chronicles,etc on phone, ffx/x2 on ps4/switch/xbone, same for 12 amd 15, vii remake ps4.... no need for psp ds gba etc

Damnit! I didnt want to have to buy this game but after your review my collection feels a bit... incomplete. How am i gonna find a new copy of this without paying with an arm and a leg? I cant... cuz its digital only! :'(

Yeah it is, but from what i've read in other articles and on play asia reviews, if you have your psp set to english it will automatically set the text to english as well.

This game makes me sleep not gonna lie

Never did like the art style.

Final Fantasy 3 is best on mobile phones/tablets. The PSP version is second best. The DS version is OK.

Well I hate playing on mobile, and as far as I know, the mobile version is just the DS version with slightly better graphics, the PSP version is still the best, it sucks that it never got a physical release in America, but at least the Japanese release is import friendly and can be played in English.
