Apologies for the muted audio during the orchestral main theme at the end, KZread did not like that one.

15:00 And here we see the Jesse in his natural habitat, going through every possible joyous emotion in under 3 seconds.
FFRK my beloved, RIP Global server. This game had an absurdly good OST for a mobile game.

Played it from a month after launch to shut down and the music was amazing. It's versions of Big Bridge, Beggining of the End and Dark Crystal are definitive for me.
Love this medley. I get chills when the FFXI theme hits. Never played Record Keeper but there's a few really good medleys coming from that game, this one was arranged by Yoshitaka Suzuki!
Something I adore about the Record Keeper remixes of Blinded By Light specifically is how heavily they emphasize the Prelude: 21:21 In the original version it got kinda buried in the mix, so most other compositions (even in the 13 games) will leave it out entirely. It never gets left out in Record Keeper.

I could hear the Shadowbringers trailer in my head. "if history must be unwritten, let it be unwritten"
The FF Main Theme is featured in almost every game in the series. It comes from the first one, but it's been used in different ways. You heard it in the credits of FF7 and it's also the main theme of FF12. If you play all the games, it hits hard because it tends to cue up during important parts in some of the best FFs.
Plot twist: this video was requested just for Jesse, so he can flex over the FFs he played 😎😏 Amazing medley, like you said it went by super fast ! A tribute to all FFs, warms my heart 💕. Btw the part where you can play as Laguna, Ward and Kirus is a mod, from what I heard 🤔
Prelude has and will forever bring me to tears.
Record Keeper is one of those many spin off mobile gatcha games that Square Enix whipped out. The thing that stands out about Record Keeper is that it had a phenomenal sound team that they brought in to do arrangements and medleys of so many tracks from across the FF series. The gameplay was a relatively fun active turn based combat game where you would control a party of characters from every FF game (even some spin offs and even Kingdom Hearts) and the gatcha was only based on weapons that gave special abilities to characters. The game has long since run out of service for global users, but it is actively running (for however long now) in Japan. Again I have to reiterate, some of the BEST arrangements for Final Fantasy tracks have spawned due to this sleeper hit -- they have like 4 albums from this game dedicated to showcasing the insane music.

You have definitely heard 'Eternal Winds' before. It plays as a leitmotif in the Shadowbringers theme. They Bring back the old FFIII Crystal Tower theme and remix it for FFXIV Crystal Tower.

I miss Record Keeper so much : The version of Noctis with Luna from it is one of my favorite arrangements ever 💜
Man an a longtime FF fan this brought buckets of feels.
man i miss record keeper... it got discontinued last year, it was amazing for a nostalgia trip
Loved this game. The Global version ended a while ago but JP is still going. The music they chose from most of the FFs are great. Also, I'm glad that Tyro (your OC) found a place among the FF heroes in the most recent Theatrhythm game.
Played every mainline title except 11, even some different versions, and many of the spin-offs. You can like or dislike an entry but the music is always a banger.

What a journey. After that medley finishing with the Main Theme was a huge blast. Actually teared up there. Final Fantasy has been such a huge part of my life. That Main Theme is essentially the National Anthem of my Gaming Life. What a journey.
I miss Record Keeper... Was my first gatcha game and although i didnt spend, it was awesome and i got to use the characters i liked It also sucks cause while global shut down, JP is still going
Oh shit pretty surreal to see you react to a video I put together, I would also like to thank Brandom & Dojee for the request! RIP FFRK GL :( But at least it's still going strong in JP! I've played I-XV minus XI. Definitely also think you should come back to this medley again after you've heard the songs or played more titles!
The Final Fantasy Main Theme first appeared in the first game, then I think has been used for at least part of the end credits theme for every main game since then... Well, most of them anyway... I forget... But I'm pretty sure there is at least one NES, SNES, PS1 and MIDI version before it would go more orchestral during the PS2 era and beyond... I'm pretty sure that One Winged Angel was the first to include recorded vocals of some sort inside the game... That said, I think Mambo de Chocobo from FF5 might have the first kinda voice sample, although it may be synth... It's essentially just a guy going "Uh!" though... Although, if we're talking lyrics and not vocals, FF6 had an opera section with lyrics in the game... Some may have had NPCs say lyrics to other tunes before that, but I don't think they used synth choir vocals for those and FF6 had lyrics come up with the song kinda, if I remember correctly... There were some vocal versions of tracks released on CD from FF6,before FF7 released, I think... So you could maybe make an argument for FF6 being the first, although probably not really...
Played all except 11 and 13. Playing through 16 right now
When I saw the title, I thought this was the Curtaincall medley from Theaterhythm FF. This is cool too, but if you're interested, I'd recommend that one as well, though you may want to check out each of the individual songs involved beforehand if you haven't already. That song always gives me goosebumps
This is a lead up to a Final Fantasy XVI OST react eventually.
Really hope you hear more from XIII and XII in the future 😍. Loved the after-talk here, and how seriosuly you take the musical experience.
Jesse! 6 is absolutely worth experiencing. It is my personal favorite game.

I was lucky enough to be able to go to the 30th anniversary distant worlds concert near me. They played this medley live and it was fantastic. Definitely go to one of their concerts if you can it was well worth it
If the Main theme sounds familiar to you at some point, it tends to be during the credits of many FF games (not as it's unique song, but usually well transitioned with the corresponding ending credits song), and I'm sure that the PS1 trilogy all of them have it in there at the end. Other than that, it's the prologue theme of the first game.
I just love the transition from One-winged Angel to Man with a Machine Gun!
The FF3 DS remake song was so good, I still remember it to this day. Also FF4 music is goated as hell. Honestly I could drone all day about each FF game's music. So iconic!
Oh man. The intro already brought me back to my childhood. It's amazing how so many melodies and themes got carried over and paid tribute to over so many games. I started with FFX by the way, changed my love life for a decade haha.
I am writing this to help out this video and this channel with the algorithm 🥰❤️✌️
An absolute journey down the memory lane. ♥ I've played all the Final Fantasy games I could get my hands on; spin offs included, so in this list that translates to everything up to 12. I've been lacking the consoles for 13 and 15, but 14 I've been able to play on my PC.
As a life long FF fan, of course I've played and beaten them all XD These are all versions from 1-6 at least are from later remakes and remasters of all the games. 1, 2, and 3 are NES 8-bit, 4, 5, and 6 are SNES 16 bit. 7, 8 and 9 are PS1, 10 and 12 are PS2, and 11 is PS2 and PC. 13 is PS3, and it had it's own trilogy of 13, 13-2, and Lightning Returns. 15 is PS4, 16 just came out and is PS5 only. The CG scenes from FF6 are from the PS1 Remaster. Honestly, Jesse, you could do the whole FF1 OST in 20 minutes. Most of the tracks are only 20 second loops, and KZread videos of the 8-bit versions usually cap out at 90 seconds each. The Main Theme is in 8-bit Chip Tune in FF1. it plays right after the prologue. If you play the FF1 NES version, there are almost no cutscenes outside of when you cross the first bridge, but that barely counts. Here's the innovation that each game really added: 1: First game, established the game as an RPG, first game with job system. Airships. Turn Based. 2: First game to have story cutscenes that took control away from player, leveling is done through skill ups instead of XP. Chocobos! Party members change as story goes. 3: First game to have multiple world maps, expands on job system, Moogles! 4: Bosses have multiple sprites and boss phases, deeply expands story telling capacity and cut scenes. Vehicles can interact with environment in some select cases. Over World sprites now allow for story telling moments and character expression. FIRST GAME TO FEATURE ACTIVE TIME BATTLE (ATB) 5: Deeply expands job system. Toys around with more light hearted story though with some serious moments. The most Slap-Stick game. Character sprites further become expressive. 6: Art style changes with larger sprites. Characters become clearer, and story telling in battle expands. Characters deeply expressive with the largest cast. Sound Design hugely innovates for the first ever technically voiced character. Technically. First mature story. First playable Moogle. 7: 3-D graphics and expanded character customization. 8: Story focuses on characters and their relationships while the world events happens around them. Character customization is extremely experimental and made to be broken by those who master it, but still controversial. 9: Originally started as a side story project, seeks to merge elements of the franchise to be a love letter to series referencing everything else. Introduces ATEs (Active Time Events) 10: First game to feature voice acting. Road Trip Story. First PS2 game, and first to not use pre-rendered background art but instead fully rendered 3D environments. 11: First MMO. Extremely Hard. Was awesome for what it was but is not exactly a game I recommend people to go check out unless they want a multi-thousand hour grindable game. 12: Introduces Active Dimension Battle and Gambits (allows you to program how an AI plays a character when you're not in control of a character) 13: Heavy cinematic story focus. Allows for job role swapping in battle, but the whole trilogy ultimately suffers flaws from SE's bad leadership at the time demanding Mass Market Appeal. The game, while OK in what it is, suffers from trying to appeal to everyone and fails to really have a target audience to appeal to. The first game is self contained and you don't need to play the sequels. While FF13-2 has better game play and fixes a lot of FF13's issue, the story it goes on ruins everything. 14: 2nd MMO, much faster paced than 11, and less punishing with a higher skill ceiling. A Final Fantasy Theme Park. innovates with fantastic story telling methods as the years go on. 15: Road Trip story with a focus on Brotherhood. Is the first action focused game. 16: Heavily action focused. Cross between Devil May Cry and Asura's Wrath. First Mature rated game with a lot of dark moments, but overall is great so far.
Definitely not the originals, but very nice arrangements regardless. It was cool hearing a more traditional One Winged Angel orchestration, bringing back the original lyrics. When you listen to the originals, remember 1-3 are NES and 4-6 are SNES, anything else is a remake. I could hear You Are Not Alone coming, but the speed definitely caught me by surprise!
This was a treat to watch FF has some bangers
I will say, Rebel Army always hits me in the feels, moreso than You're Not Alone due to context from the game's ending
agree on torn from the heavens, i've been playing 14 for years and i'm still not sick of it

The visuals are from different versions of the games. I think II was either the GBA or PSP ports. For III and IV they were the DS remakes originally though those clips may have come mobile or PC. VI drew from the intro video they made for the PS1 version of the game. It's funny V feels like an underdog in the series, but it spawned Battle on the Big Bridge which just comes up again and again. I've played some version or other of 1-6, 9 and 10. I've played some of but not finished 7, 12 and 13. I haven't played the others at all. This felt like such a great celebration of the series

And yes the main theme exists in FF1 as Prologue. Been there right since the beginning
YESS FFRK arrangements are all god tier. 7 years of a SE sound team jam session for Global. Still going on the Japanese client. They have 4 Volumes already released, and between Global's EoS and JP's current additions has enough arrangements for a Volume 5 and Volume 6 and I hope they end up releasing them. They go crazy from Vol 3 onwards, like final boss version of Saber's Edge or Gym Trainer Magna Insomnia arrangements. Edit: They basically do a FF I-XV as a medley for every anniversary. 7th anniversary medley even had a VII:R rendition of XIV ShB's Insatiable (Dungeon Boss theme) that goes into Somnus and it was amazing. Really wish SE releases an offline version of this game. Had the best ATB battle system that married some of that Vancian Magic roots from FF1 and yea, cant say enough good about the game. Shame it was a gacha that is currently lost to time, because it reall does have some of SE's best work regarding the FF series.
To Zanarkand was THE song that made me want to pick up piano. The Velvet Room in persona was the other. I unfortunately never got very good though lol.
I have played and beaten all games from 1 thru 15 and working on 16 atm. I also recently played the pixel remastered of 1 thru 6 and brought a lot of nostalgia and joy. Thanks for this songs and videos! Also, yeah, as you said it, these are like remixes for record keepers' game itself. They are not too bad, but I prefer the originals over many remixes from FF songs unless it's from, of course, the black mages. Lol
i have played every main series except for 16 and the music just keeps getting better and better

FF6 is very much one of those games where you'll likely end up playing it because of the music. 6 easily one of Nobuo Uematsu's greatest works. It's also my favorite game of all time. If you need recommendations for a reaction, just take a dart and throw it at a list of 6's songs. There is not a bad track among them.
I own and have played just about every Final Fantasy. Record Keeper was one of the more popular mobile games, and had one hell of a soundtrack. Frankly I'm disappointed that whomever picked for FF1 didn't select the Temple of Chaos theme as that remix is phenomenal. Glad you liked all the selections man, and for shouting out 11 and 13 - neither of which get the credit they deserve for their soundtracks (11 is my favorite game in the franchise as well) If you like Memora de la S'tona that much you really should hear Distant Worlds - specifically the version sung by Susan Calloway. And yes, you heard me right. Distant Worlds is the ending song for the Chains of Promathia expansion pack (arguably 11's best) and also became the namesake for the FF concerts so SUCK ON THAT HATERS!
Me, watching a youtube video: "Did this man just shush me?"
As someone that is the right age, i grew up playing final fantasy 1 on the NES (have the original player guide in a case near my desk right now) and have made sure to hit every single main title (the numbered ones) as well as several others off the beaten path. Almost all these are re-mastered versions of the original soundtracks, as 8-bit and 16-bit wouldn't hold up, even if they would be pure nostalgia for someone like me.
Oh great now the Gilgamesh song is stuck in my head again. It was brutal after your reaction compilation to the dif versions of the song lmao
I have, in fact played all 15 of these games, though I've actually not gotten far enough in XV to hear Apocalypsis Noctis there, I did hear it in XIV from a crossover event. =D
awesome!
I did indeed play all final fantasy games from 1 up to 15, also played tactics and crisis core and even Crystal chronicle, am playing FFXIV from the beginning up to where it is as of today and now I’m playing ff16 nearing the end of the story.
This version of Memoro de la stono is sick!
I've played every mainline game and most of the spinoffs that exist today in the West. Crazy highs and crazy lows, for sure.
The more FF games you've played the more the main theme hurts cause you start thinking back on all your memories of each.
Nice medley, the loops could probably stand to be a bit longer though as they felt sort of cut off at times. Eternal Wind is a fav, I love Searching For Friends and Torn From the Heavens too. I've never been a big fan of One Winged Angel (or Sephiroth) and at this point, it's been overplayed to oblivion probably more than any VGM track ever, so I felt slightly irritated hearing it again honestly. I love the main theme of Final Fantasy, it's like the gamer's national anthem or something. If you feel like getting round to another compilation, it would be nice to see a reaction to the Fire Emblem theme in each of the games in the series, I think there's a video with all of them somewhere. Cheers Jesse
The only one I haven't played is 11, the rest have been a passion project for me.
I have played every numbered FF except 11 and now 16 (don't have a PS5)
To Zanarkand is sublime. I also recomend Calm Before the Storm from FFX.

I laughed when you mentioned “I’ve not heard Eternal Wind”, because it’s everywhere in Shadowbringers’s soundtrack. It’s inserted into the Shadowbringers title theme as well. It is the best song from FF3 though, by a wide mile because it’s a great melody.
I played FFRK since day 1 till the exact day they announced the End of Service (Global version only. JP is still active). The game was amazing, best gacha game I've played. There was no hard time-limited content so you were able to play at your own pace without missing anything relevant. Yes you pulled for weapons (that gave limit breaks that where MOSTLY the main and almost only way to do damage) and there was some characters with more/better weapons than others (Cloud was insane and almost always at the top...but it made sense since the gacha was tied to weapons only so they obviously released more for popular characters). At first the "hardest content" required specific top tier weapons (and also top tier teams for each element) but if you waited a few months you could easily beat that content with half or less weapons thanks to powercreep. The best thing about this game was how complex but viable was for F2P (using foresight from JP that was 6 months ahead on content) and how absolutely amazing the Reddit community was. Also pixel sprites ,ATB combat, buffs, debuffs and every classic mechanic and summon was eventually added. Even the limit breaks showed references to the highlights from every character...and yes there was every single playable character/final boss available from every single main game plus a few collabs like Kingdom Hearts.
Obviously FF is sick and my favorite gaming music, but also love the SF6 Battle Hub music at the beginning and end.
Great reaction! Is your eye ok? It looks a bit red? Keep up the good work!
If Laguna is your dad - what am I about to say? Love that you loved it!
I own physical copies of 1 through 12, though 1/2 and 5/6 are the PS1 rereleases and 3/4 are the DS remakes, i've only finished 4/6/9 andtechnically 14 (at least ARR through to the end of 6.0, obviously still playing through post EW patch content), the other games I've poked around in but for various reasons never finished, the only mainline FFs I haven't played are 13 and it's sequels, 15 and 16.
15:30 *Crystal Chronicles version, or just plain FFIX version as IX uses a lot of woodwinds already. 19:31 people don't care about XI because it's the online one even though it has a killer soundtrack, although this arrangement sucks because it's just a "le epicz hollywood blockbuster trailer video" remix 23:59 so gracious of Shimomura to give The Nerevarine, the Champion of Cyrodiil, and The Last Dragonborn a cameo in Final Fantasy XV
Yes I played all of thèse games but I cant count 11 and 14.

REST IN PEACE FFRK GLOBAL😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Also, a minor note about the Main Theme, and in particular how it's utilized. In the early games (Specifically 1-4), after a short introductory bit of gameplay like an initial quest, there's usually a lull where the game uses the main theme as backing for a text crawl - kind of like the Star Wars main theme - introducing more of the world/main theme etc. I say all this because I vividly remember playing the first FF back in the day, getting to the text crawl and thinking that was all there was of the game. I saw scrolling text and assumed it was gonna be credits so I reached over and turned the game off. In my defense I was an idiot child.
FFXV soundtracks is godly. Wish you would do FFXV whole soundtrack someday.
I've only ever played one FF game, FFXIV. Despite this I know about every single one both through the references found in FFXIV and from my husband, who has played all of them. Due to my photosensitive epilepsy I can't play most of the older games due to their graphics, but I can recognize things from them so intimately and I've had people who are fans I've met in FFXIV passionately tell me so much about them it feels like I've been there for every single one. I love hearing so many versions of the songs I've come to learn from FFXIV, it's nostalgic to me in a way even if it's not the same as all the people who know these songs from their childhood.
I have actually played all of those games and as of half an hour ago I have the platinum trophy for 16 which means i have the platinum for every single Mainline Final Fantasy (11 doesn't have one sadly)
With the new pixel remasters I was able to play the ones I missed but I’ve played them all

The Prelude/Main Theme both date back to the NES. Relevant links for you: kzread.info/dash/bejne/loSf0bCCc823dqw.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/lm1-m5OHdLvFeKw.html And FWIW I'm one of those whose played every main-line game in the series, and most of the spin-off games. As for Final Fantasy Arcade, I'm not 100% certain on this. I know that in Japan, video game arcades are still a thing, and both FF: Dissidia (a fighter using iconic FF characters) and FF: Theaterhythm (a rhythm game based off the FF music) both have arcade versions. Dissidia makes sense to have all these themes compiled into one, but I could be wrong.
