I liked the parts where they showed the bits from the main game so you know chronologically where Yuffie's story is up to. And to that end, in my head-canon at least, Barret and Yuffie were singing the chocobo theme song chronologically at the same time.

Its great that Yuffie gets fleshed out in this. Apparently her character was heavily cut down from the original game and her being an optional character was a compromise.

They could've made Yuffie sound like an airhead or a cheerleader, but they managed to capture her original FF7 character in a respectful package. Good writing, direction, and performance.

She absolutely does sound like "an airhead cheerleader" in this game sometimes. She sounds decent most of the time, but she is inconsistently going back and forth from sounding like an adult to being that childish "airhead cheerleader". Not only that, but she says and does a lot of things that I don't believe Yuffie would do or say, but admittedly there already were several different versions and interpretations of Yuffie before the remake, because OG Yuffie is not the same as Dirge of Cerberus Yuffie, who is not the same as Before Crisis Yuffie, as well as each KH1 and KH2 BOTH having 2 different versions of Yuffie. So her character is obviously malleable and difficult to nail down, and nobody ever quite 100% agrees on exactly how to balance her. My personal favorite VOICED version will always be KH2 Yuffie due to having the best voice and having the perfect balance of her happy chipper and badass and mature aspects of her personality and dialogue, while NEVER making her act too childish or "chibi airhead cheerleader". Although Before Crisis Yuffie deserves an honorable mention as probably having the best writing for her character that I've seen so far.

What do you mean back in the day? Lol. She's part of my ff7 party everytime I play the original game. Her ultimate weapon is the best for morphing enemies when stat maxing. Cloud, Yuffie and Tifa. Barrett when the need arises. I normally pick her up as soon as I leave Kalm, but I'm a grinder when it comes to any FF game.

I never take her out of my party her dialogue is some of the most fun and she develops in to a monster late game.

This helps explain why she was out in the middle of nowhere and so far from Wutai when uku first meet her in FF7.

Along with Barret, I think Yuffie's voice actor was probably the best of the remake. Those screams for Sonon and the plate fall were very believable. Of course, all the voice acting in remake is miles and miles ahead of what FFX was lol.

This is FF 7 universe. If you're a main/important character and your body isn't destroyed beyond all repair or incinerated, you're likely going to come back as a monster. So yeah, I 100% expect Sonon to be coming back as a Deepground monster that was twisted by mako and Jenova cells.

Agreed. I beat ff7 remake within the first couple of days of purchase. I maxed out levels on chapter 3 of my second play through. Now I'm shooting for the platinum trophy. I was impressed with the game, until I beat Sepheroth and it ended. Just too short for a FF title.

After watching this, I'm so excited and hope they add more Deepground in the main timeline! DoC stories need more recognition and I'm happy to see Nero and Weiss here! Hoping they shows more Tsviets in their next update!

I'm really not sure of what to make of it. We see he does make it to Midgar alive and goes to the Church to find Aerith, but it is filled with crying people. So is this on the same time as the rest travelling to Kalm and Cloud just got another identical sword, or before the ingame events and Cloud later took the Buster sword?

The effect of the party having felled the Whispers in the Singularity seems to have retroactively altered the real world, with Zack's Final Stand ending with Zack's survival and Stamp having a different design for when Zack glimpses a poster of the mascot.

I think all the extra content is why we're not seeing any ports anytime soon...

So how does this work, do you start the dlc as a separate game from the main menu? Or do you have to progress in the base game to a certain point before you can switch over and start Yuffie? I beat the game on ps4 all the way through, and don't want to have to play it again to do this stuff if i ever get it.

So I have three possibilities for Zack: 1-Zack is a ghost and he is roaming the earth to find unfinished business (Aerith) and that's why he has the white fade out when he opens the door hinting at the afterlife 2-Zack is in another timeline where he is alive 3-Zack is alive in the cloud's time line because after defeating the whispers destiny was altered and timelines kind of merged into one which allows Zack to live in cloud's time line -The Zack is a ghost possibility could be because SQEX wanted to include more of him in the game without changing the story like the did in AC. -The Zack in an alternate timeline is my least favorite because it serves no point to the plot other than mess it up. -The Zack is alive in cloud's timeline is what I hope to happen because it gives him a more active role and doesn't change that much of the plot aside of addressing issues such as the buster sword and Aerith's relationship between her and cloud with Zack now in the mix but I think they could have some interesting ways to explain that in cohesive way without fucking up the flow of the game with allowing Zack to kind of popp up at a specific point in the game much like Reev who kind of just assist them along the way without being present all the time and giving Zack the opportunity to tie loose ends of his story and dying in end like a hero to save cloud and company because I think that's how I would write him which is thematically matches the OG.

We already know this Zack is from another timeline as shown by Stamps being a different race of dog than the one in which the main timeline of FF7R happen, it's the reason why after Zack defeated the Shinra soldier instead of dying they show us a paper featuring Stamps in front of us for less than 2 sec. With Intergrade, we know that the Aerith from his timeline is either missing or dead. They might be trying to pull off a "Zack could leave his timeline to join the one we are playing in" but it's just speculation

Its literally on the main game.... Cloud went ahead, But later Zack revived and wonder back into the city. What would piss me off is if that part where Cloud and Zack cross paths was in real time. And Zack's rotten corpse somehow time travelled to after the party left midgar. Which is what this scene implies. FF7R is already at my limit with how I can tolerate it with this Kingdom Hearts bullshit.

At the end of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you defeat 'destiny' which is the personified version of the original Final Fantasy 7 story. Because of that, major things have been changed from the original source, such as Biggs and Zack surviving. FF7R is both a Midgar remake and an introduction to a brand new FF7 story.

@@ceresbane I'd hardly call it Kingdom Hearts bullshit... yet. Everything is rather straightforward (and really cliche) if you're talking about just this game, and since it completely abandons the original FF7 canon, it's not confusing.. yet.
