I struggled to clear this also at around 140 hours gametime. I'm up to 198 hours now. It took a long time. Make everyone tanky with Revival and healing. Resist the urge to pilot dying characters, the computer is way better at dodging. If Gilgamesh frogs someone, resist the urge to switch characters. Frog lasts a billion years, so keep piloting the frog so Gilgamesh can kill them. You probably can't cleanse frog but you can definitely pick up a dead guy. And Always. Bring. Tifa.

I FINALLY BEAT Sephiroth! I used Cloud, Barrett, & Tifa. All I needed to do was have Barrett cast Barrier-All twice & I was able survive Virtual Sephiroth’s Octaslash each time. It was awesome. My final attack was EPIC!!! Cloud’s Limit Break Ascension occurred right after Sephiroth’s Limit Break cutscene for Octaslash. The game let Cloud first & & I won! 😂 I never parried Sephiroth’s Shadowy Chains once. 1. Barrett cast Barrier-All 2x. 2. Tifa’s armor: Cetran Armlet 3. Tifa: Tranference Module 4. Cloud: Limit Booster 5. Cloud cast Regan-all at the beginning of each battle. 6. Tifa cast Haste-all at the beginning of each battle. It only took me 30hrs 😂 I couldn’t beat Sephiroth’s Shadow Chains & I kept havijg stupid deaths to Alexander, Odin, & Gilgamesh.

Thank you for taking your time to make the vid and upload it. Just got to chapter 13 hard, the last quest to get manu script from "cant stop wont stop" really knew how to torture player :)) , i will try those challenge after chapter 13 or 14.

Ah yes, Can't Stop Won't Stop coliseum battle on hard mode is very challenging. Especially the double Gargantuar battle. Needle rain and 10000 needles are deadly. Good luck!

Ive been using yuffie aeirth and barrett can smoke everyone up to sephiroth easily but then i just get chained and die within seconds everytime i may have to give barrier magnified rather than haste a shot

Still trying to learn how to counter him. It would be MUCH easier if I could just replay the Gilgamesh fight and practice on him alone.

The way I did was to reload my ng+ save, quickly grind to lvl 70 which is 15ish mins, do some “light” matéria lvl up (nothing crazy) then I went back to his island. If I knew he would disappear I would have grinded every matéria possible(except the ones you get after beating him ofc via simulation) before his first fight and made a save point there. Anyway, I made 4 save points, one in front of each boss (kujata and fênix were not really necessary but oh well) and one in front of Gilgamesh. Like somebody said the real world fight is easier because his virtual version is the equivalent of him after he gets excalipoor, but most his moves are there and you can train parrying them and understanding their movement patterns. Even without my full build and some materia missing it was still pretty useful and I was trivializing him in no time

Was holding my breath at the end of those last two fights, holy crap.

that is so sick dude! What do you think about swapping one Vit up for a Swiftcast Heal? Defo clutched my balls a bit the few times you went low and esp. the Reprieve during Gilgamesh lol

My previous video had no VIT ups, and I died from full to Octaslash. That's why I added the VIT ups. I can't remember what I removed, but I can't be sure I'd survive without them both

This is awesome! I'm definitely gonna try it myself, Tifa is so much fun to play as. Is there a reason you didn't bind divekick to a shortcut? I feel like you probably spent like 5 minutes in menus just selecting divekick, lol

I grinded it for several hours before I figured out how good divekick is because of the interaction between it and whirling uppercut, and whirling uppercut and the unfettered fury aerial basic attack cancel. So mostly stubborn habit, and especially not wanting to exit the simulator to create the binding while I was in the zone

Hold square to uppercut then press square again during the uppercut to cancel it into the grounded punch. Then rinse and repeat. It only works at level 3 "rage and fall". It has broken ATB generation

What are your thoughts on the dark side materia? Is it not worth the ATB to buff up the dive kicks?

It's probably very good! Every 5 divekicks would pay for a 6th, but you only need to heal every 10 or so. If I were to slot it into my build, I would remove both Vitality Ups, add Darkside, add barrier.

@@aethertruck I actually never thought of using barrier, great suggestion! I wonder how it interacts with the fury ring/berserk status, since berserk makes you deal 30% more dmg, whilst also receiving 30% more damage yourself (unless they changed it from remake). With barrier, would it just be a flat 20% decrease in damage taken, since it halves all damage?

Noobie question, but I see you using dive kick a lot, is trinity strike from her folio's just not worth it over dive kick? Additionally, is unfettered fury just better than unbridled strength? I thought it scaled with magic, but you doing 1k+ crits with basic attacks seems to suggest otherwise lmao

At level 3 chi, both "rage and fall" and "rise and fall", Tifa gains several properties. Dodge speed is one of the big ones, but she also gains an aerial cancel out of whirling uppercut (hold square). This cancel is different in both versions of level 3 chi. Unbridled strength level 3 gives her a meandering aerial continuation, but unfettered fury gives her an amazing instant grounded cancel that gives her an absolute ton of ATB. That's the reason I use unfettered fury, to gain absurd ATB. Whirling uppercut also has an interesting property that allows you to instantly cancel into dive kick, or overpower. This is broken. Normally divekick takes about 1 to 1.5 seconds to use. However, the combination of whirling uppercut PLUS dive kick also takes 1 to 1.5 seconds because of the fact that dive kick can cancel out of the uppercut. This is broken because the uppercut does respectable damage AND generates ATB. So the uppercut/divekick combo is better than natural dive kick in 3 ways: 1.) Costs less ATB (because uppercut gains) 2.) More damage (because uppercut damages) 3.) The divekick command takes less time, and you can dodge out of the uppercut without committing to the divekick, while you cannot dodge out of a natural dive kick. Trinity strike isn't totally obsolete. It does more damage over a longer animation, which is less than divekick can in the same amount of time, but you would need to do 3 divekicks which takes 3 ATBs. It's impossible to generate ATB this fast without level 3 unfettered fury, so I would say Trinity Strike is better than dive kick if you aren't level 3 unfettered. Also, the entirety of Trinity Strike can be buffed with starshower, so you might notice that I nearly kill Alexander with a buffed Trinity Strike. Its raw damage is 2nd only to her limit breaks. Finally, Trinity Strike's 2nd and 3rd hits have a little more interrupt power than divekick, which has almost none. So it still has plenty of uses, but it doesn't have enough interrupt power for these bosses, so if the damage can't compete with uppercut/dive kick combos, it's not usually worth using on these bosses

@@aethertruck Thank you for the detailed response! I never knew unbridled and unfettered had different properties on their uppercuts. The fact that you get ATB for landing a dive kick with lvl 3 chi on unfettered sounds crazy good, never knew. I never gave unfettered a fair chance since I thought it scaled off of her low magic stat, as opposed to her massive strength stat. The games combat is definitely a lot deeper than I thought. I also see you doing your limit breaks only after star shower usually. Does star shower buff limit breaks as well? I just ignorantly assumed it only affected other abilities. And you also mention the overpower ability, is divekick just generally better than overpower after uppercut since it’s a lot faster as an animation? Thank you again for sharing your knowledge/findings.

@@R_C32 i don't know all of the properties of overpower. I understand that it does somewhat low damage, but it's very quick, and it buffs basic attacks used immediately after. It might be intended as a way to quickly dump a bar but also gain it back. It does have a good deal of interrupt strength. It's not definitely not worth using anymore once you start using the unfettered uppercut/attack cancel, and especially uppercut/divekick, but I use it sometimes just to trigger skill master materia which gives free ATB after 3 unique skills. Starshower does indeed buff limit breaks, I've tested it and it seems to be a 50% boost. But I miscalculate and stagger falls off of gilgamesh before limit break hits. It would have been more damage if I didn't starshower on him because I lost a bigger bonus from stagger.

Nice, i have question though. Correct me if im wrong, we can use unfettered fury to go straight from omnistrike to Rage and fall?

Yes. Unfettered Fury is Unbridled Fury, but just suited for stagger and pressure, instead of damage. You'll keep using the "Unfettered" versions until you use a normal Unbridled Fury.

Yep! Skill master give an ATB for every 3 unique ATB skills you use, so if I don't start with concentration (50% chance upon entering battle) then I use unbridled first, then unfettered, so it counts as 2 unique skills.

In my experience the ranged version of shadowy chains, the attack you're talking about, has a 10%-20% chance of being used instead of the melee version. You can parry them both though.

I believe you have to obtain every Way of the Fist manuscript (this includes the ones from side quests + purchasable ones + hard mode fights)

Yeah, you need every manuscript. You'll need to beat the whole game, redo every side quest in hard mode, and beat her Legendary Bout if you want them all, but if you just want Tifa's there should be guides that tell you which chapters and sidequests you need to redo

I think i did almost everything, took me 170h to get to chapter 14, 😅 and i can't believe they did it .. 😢 yea, i got mad when i found out that i need materials from hard mode to craft genji armors, but cant wait to play hard mode, thanks guys! 😊

@@imhoXD It takes like ten minutes to get the materials from hard mode. Just chapter select to chapter 13 and fast travel to the enemies. Trust me, those accessories aren't very useful outside of postgame. Just be proud that you beat Gilgamesh being so underleveled. It's pretty clear that he was designed for players to come back to him at level 70

Dive kick has been broken and people have been spamming it since Remake, and its still broken in Rebirth, plus with buffs and genji gloves you can do more then 9999 damage since it breaks the limit.

This isn’t hard mode for sure..damage going down waaaay too fast on the summons.. I literally just completed these challenges and I have all maxed out characters. Party level is level 10 folio is level 10 there’s no way you’re doing that kind of damage in hard mode.

The brutal and legendary challenges are locked to hard mode. They are always level 70/hard/no items even if you access the simulator on easy.

Welcome to learning what's possible in these games! People have told me I've cheated before too doing Remake solo Hard Mode bosses. In reality, most of what makes Hard Mode is not enemy health, it's enemy damage being way higher. You are punished much more for mistakes. If you make few mistakes, the enemies can still die fast.
