For me it's the contrary. I love when characters aren't actually black and White. Even After death life goes on, ans also feelings can change. You can love a guy in the past but It's so beautiful when caracthers change. Zack was aerith First crush but i think Cloud For aerith Is even more. I Love her considerations and the fact that She has actually a giant character development. First she was interested in Cloud beacause She remebres Zack, than She start to love Cloud beacause again She saw in him her First love, but in the end She finally understand that She love him not beacause he Is similari to Zack but Is beacause She actually start to develop real feelings of true love for Cloud and She love him likes if he Is a Total different Pearson from zack. I love this sort of thing in movie or games and i find more romantic than love your first crush. ❤️❤️

@@zackfair6791 i mean aerith herself said that she likes cloud. even if you choose to not pursue her "romantic route" you still get a scene where she basically "confesses" to cloud... however they keep things ambiguous enough that her confession works whether you choose her route or not. unfortunately that's part of the reason why the ship wars will never end and we can sit here and argue all day about it because square has to please everyone and keep things somewhat ambiguous and left up for player interpretation and well, everyone interprets it differently. i will say though i'm not sure why people think that zack and aerith are gonna have this epic love reunion or something, they've spent the last 2 games building up cloud and aerith's bond (regardless of ships, their bond has always been way more important to the story than zack and aerih), both theme songs are written from cloud and aerith's pov and about each other... i can see aerith and zack reunite again but i just don't see them pushing the romance aspect between zack and aerith anymore personally but who knows... anything can happen at this point...

But Idk the context here since I haven't play rebirth, it can be anything now. But personally I still prefer the original pairings so I'll still go Tifa route with Cloud. Back to waiting for PC version.

At this point I am super confused. May have to rewatch the game one more time. The thing is, in the OG, we know that in the end the planet couldn't be saved based on AVC, however a brief moment of "peace" was achieved. We also know that the enormous guilt Cloud felt was healed after he understood neither Aerith nor Zack blamed him, which is in the end what makes FFVII theme resolved imo, and what makes Cloud choose to be happy with the people he loved. We also know that Aerith kept on helping the planet (and of course her friends) from within the lifestream, and it seems that Zack reunited with her and chose to follow her (kinda makes me wonder if in fact Zack chose to wait for her, and honestly I don't remember if in the OG Aerith knew her death was imminent because being in the lifestream was the only way she could try to stop Sephiroth, and help everyone). Then came DOC with Vincent's own conclusion and redemption, which in the end made a lot of sense because he didn't really feel he would ever atone for his "sin", and establishes that Lucretzia has been also involved in trying to atone for her "sins", but there is no apparent interaction between her with Aerith or Zack within the lifestream, at least none that I remember. But DOC also points that Genesis, or what seems to be Genesis is still part of the end game as in fact Sephiroth was never really destroyed. I have no recollection though that after DOC this theme was developed or resolved (it's been ages since I finished that game, and was left with that ending as open). However it did make me wonder if somehow that final scene in DOC actually connected with AVC opening scene, and was in fact the reason why humanity ended up being gone from the planet (way too long since I watched AVC, but I recall reading that the opening of the movie was meant to be years into the future, with Nanaki running with his pack and portraying that humanity did not make it. Which also brings the question if Nanaki kept his promise to Vincent, and if both of them had to watch one by one their friends die). Anyway, I was ok with this ending because it sort of brought closure to the story, not complete, but something that couldn't be revived or changed. However, with this game, timelines have been established, and some people are taunting the possibility that it has been probably a grand scheme from Aerith in order to save the world and destroying Sephiroth for good. Kind of a: let's get it right this time. However, altering the timelines is incredibly confusing because for the story to be set in motion (to go after Sphiroth) 3 things need to happen: 1) Zack needs to die. 2) Tifa has to find Cloud unconscious in Midgar 3)Aerith has to die. It is an interesting thought of mine that I believe meeting everyone made Aerith choose to save the planet. She was so isolated growing up that I feel she really didn't have a motive to "fulfill" her "destiny". But the bonds she made, specially with Tifa and Cloud, made her want to save the planet so everyone could live in it. Odd enough though, these 3 things set in motion the path were they ultimately fail imo. But then we have 2 other timelines in which Zack lives. In one, because of the 3 things before stated not happening, in the end Sephiroth succeeded with ease and flying colors. That too was a "failed" timeline I think. Then the 3rd is Zack absorbing the knowledge of what seems timeline number 2, and maybe trying to make things different. Still, everyone's role in the story needs to be kept at some point for Sephiroth not to succeed with the meteor, which actually makes me support the idea of Aerith trying to pull the strings from a different timeline in an effort to actually save the planet this time. But then, where does Lucretzia and supposed Genesis enter into the story line? Because that is canon. And if some things need to change in Zack's timeline, how can Tifa and Cloud meet in Midgar so all the events will be set in motion in order to end in the exact same spot before Aerith's death so Cloud saves her? And here comes another question. From what Marlene says only Cloud can save Aerith, which would mean that maybe Aerith understood that she had to live in order to save the planet. But the only way for Cloud to save Aerith is if he remembers Zack from day one and Tifa is there to piece him together and pull him from Sephiroth's mind games (because even though Zack is there, the experiments on Cloud still happened and his mind still got "infected"). And yes, being totally objective and note getting into ANY ships, Tifa's role is pretty crucial and key in the story. But how is that supposed to happen now? And will it still mean that Zack is bound to die anyway? And if Zack is correct, will it mean that eventually the two timelines will overlap? And of course, what would Sephiroth's movements be? Sorry for the thesis, I'm just really confused and hoping that the third part is superb to give a proper conclusion to the story they changed.

she knows this information because she has aerith's future memories from remake (from that scene where aerith rescued marlene and marlene stopped crying suddenly), marlene is not just guessing or saying random stuff, she knows things. marlene is literally used as a plot-device in order to give information to zack and the player. it's not "intuition" about the plot lmao, the devs put that scene there for a reason. also idek why people are questioning marlene when aerith herself told cloud she likes him in the game. i mean how many times does the game have to tell you aerith currently has feelings for cloud for you to believe it? i don't get how some people are still questioning it.

you do realize that this game has an affinity system right? you can make choices as the player to have optional scenes with both girls. the "love triangle" was always meant to be ambiguous in the first place, depending on the choices you make and how you personally perceive the story and the characters. the devs have said this time and time again and people still don't get it after nearly 30 years. i really don't understand how you could play this whole game and genuinely believe that "their main goal" with the timelines is to unite zack and aerith of all people, i mean sure they might reunite but i don't think that's their main goal or that they're "pushing" zack and aerith romantically, especially not after this game, the game only doubled down on aerith's current feelings for cloud. i'm not trying to have a ship war or anything, you're free to ship who you want and have your personal preferences but i think it's quite stupid to say people are "delusional" about cloud and aerith's relationship when their bond (platonic and/or romantic) is of the most important parts of the story in the first place, regardless of who you personally ship.

Old Cloud likes Tifa. Massive crush. Cloud isn’t the same right now. I’d argue that Cloud loves Aerith much more than Tifa right now even though he still cares heavily for Tifa. Cloud doesn’t have the history he should right now to fully understand why Tifa is so affectionate towards him and that has to be incredibly off putting for someone as introverted as Cloud is. In contrast, his relationship with Aerith has developed entirely under his own guise. I think the Tifa kiss was really OOC fanservice. I don’t think Aerith is better, but Tifa isn’t really the “better” option until she repairs his memory which is the huge cornerstone of their relationship.

This was the first time I actually saw enhanced SOLDIER strength in action. A lot of the time throughout FFVII, more emphasis has been put on their speed and agility. But when Zack threw that Dying Light sledgehammer looking thing at the helicopter, I remembered "Oh shit, SOLDIERs are also crazy strong, not just crazy fast."

Oh, nice catch! I think that when Zack has a decision to make: "Cloud or Biggs," he creates another timeline (implied by the light you see). So there is one timeline where he made choice A (Cloud) and then another where he actually made choice B (Biggs).

Ex soldiers from spin offs side adventures?

Okay, so they simply add 3 timlines, the first one which zack survives and when he decides to go to the shinra HQ to find hojo to help cloud, but they simply did'nt show us that moment, instead after the platoon scene they, again created the second timeline where biggs about to blast reactor 6, you guy can see where biggs is eating something and the snack packet printed dog is different from the (zack survives timeline) where the dog was different, they again played smart by killing biggs and let zack accepts his fates, and at last, at the church where zack was thinking about biggs, cloud and aerith you can notice a strange man is handling a dog, Now I'm confused which dog it was, the survived timeline or the another timeline where zack goes to meet aertih but end up battling with sephiroth along side cloud in his timeline, they must do something in next part of the game, The professor Hojo will be the crucial and gonna be the main hourse of this race, I just want a good ending for both cloud and zack and he should end up his story with aerith.

Prior to this, we see two scenes where a Zach goes to Shinra to try and meet with hojo, then where he meets Biggs. We end with Zach sitting outside this church. IGN pointed out that these are actually POTENTIAL futures. Dont believe me? There are three clues. One is that when Zach chooses to go to Shinra, the second tunnel shines… The next is when we meet Biggs, he is EATING A BAG WITH A DIFFERENT DOG. FINALLY, when we see Zach thinking outloud at the church, We see Johnny holding a DIFFERENT dog. To me this indicates that what we are seeing are different futures. The choices Zach makes really does impact the future. So the choice he made to go after hojo or Biggs ended up being bad because he wasn’t at the church when sephiroth arrived. Thus he couldn’t help in the final battle. The problems is that when did Zach ever get a choice to save aerith? He WAS GOING TO hojo to help cloud who’d help aerith. Also, why go to the church? He had no reason aside from maybe going to think clearly-sentimental value. It just seems nasty when he had made up his mind to go to hojo only to then find out about Biggs going to the reactor.

Rebirth showed like 5 different timelines by the end, plus when Cloud looked up he saw Zacks sky so I'm guessing he will eventually pop up with them in part 3

I think Tifa is implied to be dead unless there is a twist to it. We don't know what happened to Cloud though, never seen him in that timeline, except for the Cloud that Zack brought with ihm. Pretty sure lifestream Aerith knows Zack is alive considering she seemed to be guiding him at the end of the game.

After playing the game i stuck thinking that the version of zack, cloud and aerith that we see here are from the otherworld cant really say cause it quite the jumpy and i still can't connect the dote

“Cause you werent there” exactly! Thats the reason. If zack was there, aerith will not fall for cloud. The only reason aerith fell for cloud is because zack was not there anymore, and cloud remind her so much of zack. Especially the eyes infused with mako, she likes it!

So, if Zack lives, there are 2 Buster Swords? What is the lore behind that? I mean it originally act as a symbol of Zack's legacy... well... Angeal's but then to Zack and now Cloud. (still waiting rebirth for PC so I haven't play it)

You're looking at it wrong. Zack knows Cloud hasn't met Aerith before. And so if a world where Cloud has met Aerith exists and she likes him its obvious Zack isn't there. Zack knows it would never happen if he was.

Rebirth should not have left a single doubt about whether Zack and Aerith are meant to be together and will be reunited in game 3. Its happening, people. This entire setup is romance angst 101. This is exactly how you bring two estranged people, seperated by fate, who never stopped loving each other back together again. Angst is part of the territory. Zack loves Aerith deeply. Aerith never let go of Zack and only began having doubts when a stranger who resembled him very closely fell into her life the exact same way, after 5 years. She has known the new man for 2 weeks and has admitted to him she was seeing Zack in him almost the whole time. She tries to move on but cannot, as the dream date screams at us. Aerith is confused, she knows there is a difference between what she feels for Zack and what she feels for Cloud but cant be sure about it. Zack meanwhile has been told she likes Cloud. This is to raise the narrative stakes for Zack thru some good old fashioned angst and misunderstandings. Its cliche. Its teeth meltingly endearing as well. Its a bunch of old salary men writing their idea of young, star crossed love. For Zack, think Han Solo here not Goro Majima. He and Aerith will be A-ok as a couple by end of part 3 Alive or in the lifestream.

need female perspective here. and please treat it not as a zackXaerithXcloud thing but as if a friend is trying to get your opinion for her relationship. lets say you had a boyfriend, lets say highschool age. you two got along. your sense of humor is on point. chemistry with each other is a ton high. dates with him are magical. everything you do with him feels as if the world is so naturally building up the world around you. the works. a perfect disney couple. perfect enough that he gave you a gift that you would wear for years and years to come, and start a business that the two of you came up with. but he had to leave town because of reasons. years would pass and you wouldnt hear a thing from him. you would continue doing the "business" you two built up. even your mom knows that you are still waiting for him. time passes by like that and you are now in your college/uni. then suddenly you met someone that has a semblance of him. except he is nothing like him. your sense of humor doesnt line up, in fact, he has no sense of humor at all. theres no chemistry, to the point that every date you got from him, you need to force him to be able to do anything at all. you got on a date(that you need to force unto him) you wanted him to pick a gift for you, you still needed to force that into him and when he picked something up, its as if the world is against it and you got something else than the thing he picked. you wanted to eat a snack with him, but again, the snack he picked was unavailable and the replacement that you two got was not good at all. now, what are your thoughts about the new guy? and if the first guy ever shows up again, what would you do? For me it's the contrary. I love when characters aren't actually black and White. Even After death life goes on, ans also feelings can change. You can love a guy in the past but It's so beautiful when caracthers change. Zack was aerith First crush but i think Cloud For aerith Is even more. I Love her considerations and the fact that She has actually a giant character development. First she was interested in Cloud beacause She remebres Zack, than She start to love Cloud beacause again She saw in him her First love, but in the end She finally understand that She love him not beacause he Is similari to Zack but Is beacause She actually start to develop real feelings of true love for Cloud and She love him likes if he Is a Total different Pearson from zack.
