Oh god the Phoenix cave! This place has a really cool design I think but damnnn the encounters were brutal for me.

Used to watch your Guild Wars 2 content and your podcast with Matt, but I also really enjoyed your Final Fantasy X, X-2, and XII playthroughs--you have very comprehensive knowledge for these games that you're clearly passionate about. Today I just happened to check your channel again in reminiscence to see whether you ever finished XII, and I'm glad I did because I see that you've started a new Final Fantasy playthrough, which I will shortly be catching up on. Glad you are still making content!

I believe the reason why we saw Terra and Celes as the ones who leapt from the airship was because they were in the lead party spots. If Edgar were first in his party, I'm pretty sure that's who would've leapt.

Akshually, you start off playing as Terra, not Locke. ;D I've always viewed her and Celes as the main characters of this ensemble, but you're right that Locke plays a big role too. Guess they're the main trio? And ahem! He's not a thief; he's a *treasure hunter*! Anyway, glad you're having fun with this game, WP. Can't wait to see the finale!

I'll be honest, if you really want to know what El Nino does wikipedia does a pretty thorough explanation and a youtube comment can't really encompass all of it, but the gist of it is that it's caused by the warming of the surface temperature of the pacific ocean. El Nino means "little boy" in spanish and it is followed by La nina which is the opposite - the cooling of the pacific ocean. It is irregular so its not entirely predictable. The one thing that I ALWAYS remember about El Nino - due to my time watching david attenborough documentaries - is that the marine iguana that lives on the Galapagos islands undergo a rather drastic change each El Nino. Because El Nino kills off the red/green algae that they feed on, a lot of them will die, but several of the iguanas have evolved to actually shrink their skeletons and body mass to survive the El Nino so they need far less food due to their smaller body mass. When the La Nina comes and the algae stocks replenish, they eat and restore their body mass back to the original size. I've always found this extremely fascinating.

Well Shadow of the tomb raider was pretty new, endwalker/dawntrail will be new, and I guess the new gw2 expac! Otherwise I have some oldies coming up.

One of my 4 favorites. Our favorites always were 6.7.9. and 10 in various orders but those 4 were our favorites of the franchise

Can you reflect tornado off yourself?

Sadly, no. You take your chances or build the highest magic evade to avoid. It lowers hp to 1/16th, so using dual cast with tornado, then curaga can work. Also, I think since enemies who are immune to death can avoid, if your party is immune to death, that may work. It's sadly not worth the effort as more powerful spells exist.

iirc using holy water on most enemies here is a 1 hit ko. (That would be a very boring way to play though)

He does have to come back for that last chest(it was on screen, bottom right corner a few times), and the dragon, so he can still try that strategy.
