    Now that you mention Elemental blades I had an idea for a Gilgamesh DLC for 16. It more or less involves Clive going up against Gilgamesh and that in 16 Gilgamesh was Ultimas attempt to artificially create Mythos. And during the boss fight we see Gilgamesh using eight different weapons corresponding to each Eikon including Leviathan. And then for the final phase of the fight he pulls out on 9th weapon that's supposed to be Ifrit/Ultima

    Yeah, the missing secret ending was a let down for me as well, but I liked that Ultima didn't use Leviathan. He mentions in a dialogue that he views Leviathan as "tainted" because humans have been hiding it from him for centuries, so he doesn't view it as worthy of being used.

    Ok so quick question? Seeing as ff16 never resolved the world ending part. Does that mean we get a sequel that covers that part? Or is the real ending true and none of events actually happened and everything is just a bedtime story.

  • @MoreLimitless_

    @MoreLimitless_

    Ай бұрын

    Well, its an ambiguous ending left to interpretation. Many believe that the very end credit scene is hundreds or thousands of years into the future which is why the people of Valisthea think magic and Eikons were a fairytale; much like how real history can't accurately say how events in the past thousands of years came to be. The ending is to show the effects Clive had on the world of Valisthea and drive home that his and Cid's dream was realized in the end; that people can live and die on their own terms without the crystals comfort. It all comes full circle by the end up is left ambiguous so that the players can give their own interpretation of the end, or the events that led up to that point.

  • @pkkiller_apathy4568

    @pkkiller_apathy4568

    Ай бұрын

    @MoreLimitless_ see that's what I don't get. Ultima made a huge slide show showing that he made the crystals, but the world was dying before that point the crystals only speeds up the process. Because we know something or some before, Clive trys and fails to get to Ultima because of the previous spaceship broken around the planet. My TLDR is if that is true. And we are thousands of years into the future. How did we get there because Ultima's death doesn't fix the blight and Ultima doesn't have the power to fix the blight. Ultima big revelation was he was running from the planet and was going to pull a Genova to get away. what actually resolved the blight? At this point I am thinking wild stuff like this is all a prequel. And the blight is Genova and this is the planet she used to get to ff7 world and that book is from clouds planet where some one survived and passed the story down lol.

    I love this game but I was really hoping this dlc would be after the final fight and give Clive a happy ending for once since the last place you see Clive is on the beach it would’ve made perfect sense especially since he promised Jill he would come back for her

  • @MoreLimitless_

    I honestly didn’t mind that it was a self contained DLC. I believe a DLC shouldn’t change an ending no matter how controversial it is. Having a paid DLC wrap up a story again would feel like a cop out, so I’m glad they stuck to their guns with this. As I said in the video, I think it’s fine for these DLC to be pretty self contained as a little extra for fans who enjoyed the base game, and it really doesn’t need to be more than that imo. If they added some scenes to the final fight; I believe that would have been preferable. But the ending, for me, was good thematically, and I don’t really care for an ending where everyone lives happily ever after.

To me personally with all of the messed up stuff that happens in this game with Clive and the others in general I would have preferred if they showed Clive at least making it back after the final fight instead of the gut punch or ambiguity we otherwise would get from FF games where “we make you love these characters so we can kill them or you don’t really know if they’re dead or not but we wanna crush your heart” type of deal. Not really a happy ending for all bc Joshua is dead and the whole world is still in turmoil after all the mother crystals are destroyed and the ending was great but I think Clive should at least have an alternate ending or something showing him making it back alive imo

    About ff16’s graphical environments….. they are basically corridors that look nice. I think the area should have been more open world. I do love leviathan’s ranged shotgun since i can burn through stagger gauges and take out mobs easily since it can easily break guards and shields to.

    Yes, it's a game that isn't open world but that doesn't take away the fact that the game graphically looks amazing, especially with a blue clear sky back in the game. The area was never going to be open world when the rest of the game is structured as an opened zoned game.

  • Ай бұрын

    I never got why games HAVE to be open world these days. Just because they have open zones (small or massive) doesn’t mean they are bad. Plus whole open world where everything looks as beautiful as these zones, would be horrible for any console or computer to handle. It’s almost like people say: “only open world games are beautiful and awesome. These non-open world games are nowhere near as good as they should have been. All games have to be open world”. @@MoreLimitless_

Essentially he becomes a writer like he said he was going to during all those side quests, and writes the book under Joshua’s name so he can ‘live on’ like Cid. The only things I liked about the DLC was the Leviathan boss fight and the reveal that the dominant was a baby but other than that, it was pretty meh. It was basically the same thing we got in the main game and no development on anybody. It was kind of like Shula was the star in this DLC than any of the main characters were and she's just a guest character. Sometimes I don't even understand why Joshua and Jill are even required to be there for the DLCs when the developers just sidelined them the whole time. Might as well just let Clive go alone since he's a one man army a lot of the time anyway lmao. I'm not surprised at all that the developers completely lied about Jill getting anything in the DLC. They already admitted that they knew that the players wanted to see more on other characters other than Clive in the game, so I just knew they were just using Jill in that interview in order to try and gain sales on the DLC. Too bad it didn't work because I actually heard that the DLC didn't even sell much and not many people played it, so it serves them right. I'm more upset about them lying to the fans about Jill than I am about her not getting anything. I already knew they were lying but it ain't right for them to use Jill as a lure and try to take advantage of the fans like that in order to get more money.

  • @MoreLimitless_

    @MoreLimitless_

    Ай бұрын

    I wouldn’t exactly say they lied, they didn’t say Jill would be the focus, only that if we liked Jill, that there’d be things in this DLC that relate to her. The fans themselves took that as “this means its about her” which is wrong. The devs also already said months before that Clive would still be at the center. Additionally, this is just my opinion, but I think Shula was very good. Yes, she is a guest character, but this is a story about her people and their dominant. It makes sense that they would want to focus on her and the people of Mysidia. Jill had great moments up until the latter half of the game, and Joshua was focused on for the majority of the story with Clive. As for the sales, we don’t really have substantial numbers to go off of right now, so I wouldn’t even worry about that atm.

  • @phoenixblossom2167

    @phoenixblossom2167

    Ай бұрын

    @@MoreLimitless_ Well I already knew that Clive would be at the center of the story lmao but in that case what I think the developers should've clarified about Jill was that there would not be a focus on her specifically but like you said, just certain things in the DLC that would relate to her and not the focus being on her directly. When they say the word "focus" and then follow up with it being on her specifically then that implies that Jill herself will have her own time to shine, so I think they really should've been more careful with their choice of words about that. So technically they did still lie about her, you still make a good point about Shula though. In my opinion, the only good moment that Jill had in the game was at the Iron Kingdom. Even then though I still feel like they did her dirty because we don't even get to play as Shiva in the boss fight against that fire humanoid looking monster (I forgot what the name of that boss was called lmao) That was her fight and her only part of the story where she gets an opportunity to step up and she still got sidelined. The Phoenix being playable was no problem for them in not only one but two boss fights in the game, so I feel like there was absolutely no excuse for Shiva to not be playable there, but they had to make a stupid excuse just because she's.... well you know 🙄 As for Joshua, even though he's literally right behind Clive when it comes to importance in the game and maybe wasn't done as dirty as Jill was, I still didn't like how he doesn't get more involved and join in on the story and fight with us until like 70% into the game. They don't even go into detail as to what Joshua was doing for all those years after the Phoenix Gate incident and even kill Joshua off right before the final boss and doesn't get to even fight with Clive. When you consider all of that it sometimes doesn't feel like Joshua is as important as they say even though he is apparently supposed to be. Btw, please don't take this as me not liking FF16. I actually do like it, it's just that one of the problems that I think this game has and that I think the developers could've done a lot better on it was to make the other main characters a bit more relevant than what they are and have them shine on their own a lot better. I felt awful for all of the other characters in the game because it's like the developers didn't care about any of them except Clive and had too much bias on him, and I feel like literally every character in the game including Joshua merely just existed for Clive's development and that alone just makes them feel sort of irrelevant. You can also tell even more so when you also consider that even on the 5 year time skip, no other character's appearance changed except for Clive's. That's no coincidence imo
