@@Rithysak101 I honestly don’t know how to answer that question. But how about we start with a game with explorable towns. Like FF13 and FF15 had a combined 1 explorable town

A few things you didn't mention that point towards this game's quality: The writer says that he doesn't think he can ever write a character as good as Clive again, as he poured so much effort into writing the character. Not to mention that several of the main developers consider him their favorite character in the game, pointing towards an extremely well written protagonist. You can pet the dog The voice acting as well. I know we only have trailers, but there are so many top notch deliveries in them all around, that I think we're in for a very well acted game. The dog aids you in combat and travels with you. And the game seems to simultaneously be pushing the series forward, while also returning to the roots of the fantasy setting and the crystals, just like FFIX did twenty-three years ago. Also did I mention you can pet the dog?

i roll my eyes at this point whenever games do the pet dog thing. Its so blatantly and cheaply an attempt to emotionally manipulate the mainstream gaming audience that just see shallow cliche stuff and bandwagon it as "omg doggo so wholesome" its right up there with fake character death trope and bringing back old Star Trek cast as cameos

I agree with all you’ve said. With that in mind I think it’s pretty safe to assume that xvi is going to devide some fans even more with more action game style approach. As Yoshida said “for some it’s not FF without commands” he knows full well that some are going to be turned off by it and that’s ok one of things I’ve always appreciated about final fantasy is it’s willingness to experiment. It’s why I cannot help, but respect xiii despite its painfully obvious flaws

I think the fanbase will be less divided over the combat style if the story and characters are good. The people who hate FF7R (I am somewhere in the middle of hate and like) hate it because of the narrative changes, not the gameplay.

@@fattiger6957 That is true, but you know with these fanbases that have been around for so long. Many just don't like change and I'll admit there's simply something quite comforting about experiencing something you know is going to hit close to him. At the end of the day I don't want sqaure to hinder themselves because of things like trends overly aggressive consumers. What they do best is being creative and innovating and history has shown that when their developers are left alone without outside influence (looking at you upper management) they can make some of the most immersive and memorable titles on the market

Uuuuuhhh, it's only on the ps5 so not many people will play it to begin with.

Apparently Maehiro has been working with Square ever since Tactics all the way back in 1997. He's also worked on all the Ivalice games including FF12. Given those credentials, I won't be surprised if this game has an excellent, fully realised world, especially since Matsuno is a big influence on Yoshi-P.

If there's a doggo, there better be Angelo Cannon.

I have been begging for an M rating for such a long time that I couldn't understand.. not for the gore. But to not hold back in moments where violence or sexual explicit scene just simply and naturally call for it. Great review. Hope this hits pc soon than later.

I remember when i first saw the blood on yuffies face from sonon i thought "this is exactly what I've been looking for in FF". Just that little extra that shows it's not being toned down. It doesn't need to be crazy, but just present and not deliberately avoided

I cannot get pulled into it when it's about power, corruption, magic battles and knights but then pg battles? This is great

7:15 - Not only that, but let's face it. Final Fantasy fans nowadays are primarily adults anyway. They're no longer the kids and young teenagers that went gaga over Squall and Rinoa and did so again over Tidus and Yuna. Fans nowadays can handle tougher material, as long as the story is well written and there is a payoff.

Clive sounds like an awesome character so far. I also notice that he has a similar path to Ardyn in Final Fantasy XV who of course became a villain because of his tragic life, only for Clive, it feels like he will have a similar struggle to Ardyn and wrestler with his inner demons (no pun intended) that try to push him into a bad direction and become a villain that ends up manipulating, hurting and killing many people on his quest for revenge, hopefully Clive won’t succumb to villainy like Ardyn did.

Can't wait to play. Really hoping this game turns out to be a complete banger and win for everyone.

My God, sounds like FF16 has pretty much everything going for it.

I have to agree with the arguments you made NSP. FF 16 has ALL THE INGREDIENTS to be in the top FFs made if not the best. I mean just look at the amazing team behind it. Not only are they experienced in what they do best but they also have a great sense on team management and transparency to the audience. I don't want to seem to place huge expectations on Yoshi-P and his team, and I am also trying to temper down the hype I have. But man it's very hard to do so after playing FF 14 and hearing the amazing soundtrack it has. (which also helped me ace a music class I had for the first time. Thanks to the music training FF14 gave me!😂) On top of that, I not so long ago got my hands on DMC 5 and found the combat really enjoyable!...Yeah really hard not to agree NSP!😂 As always love your uploads and will always support you!😁

@@fattiger6957 Yep Masayoshi Soken is currently FF XIV'S as well as FF XVI's main composer. 🤗 I believe you'll love Soken's music if you are an Uematsu fan. From what I know Uematsu and other composers contributed to FF14's older expansions in addition to Soken before he finally became the main composer. Soken takes inspiration from Uematsu and greatly admires him. I personally love Mashashi Hamauzu music first and foremost. But Soken and Uematsu took 2nd and 3rd place in my list making them top 3 favorites.😊 (Hope my ramblings helped😅😂)

Aside from playing the game and seeing Clive develop as an FF hero, I can’t wait to see FF Unions character analysis on Clive, Jill, the villain, etc., rabtoons parody of the game, YoshiPs vision of the future of the game alongside FFXIV, Soken’s soundtrack, and so much more. FF has always been my favorite game series and still is. I can’t wait for June.

Thanks for the video NSP! I have to agree with pretty much everything you’ve covered. I’m so hyped for XVI especially since CBU3 have full control over the development. They’ve done nothing but impress me and give me complete confidence in them. I’ll be really surprised if the game isn’t amazing.

I'm having HIGH hopes for XVI's success! Even if it turns out "decent" and most fans will hate on it, I'm sure I'm still gonna love it. Hell, I love FFXV. Despite the massive development hell it went through and NOT being Versus XIII. Hell, I was one of the many fans who saw the first trailer of Versus XIII back in 06. Yes like many fans, I was disappointed that it wasn't the game it was suppose to be originally, but the final verdict of the game over all, was still enjoyable to me personally. I don't know, as a fan, I guess it's because I'm really soft when it comes to Final Fantasy games, no matter how bad they are. I even liked Final Fantasy XIII (LOL please send your hate comments)! With that being said, I'm sure to enjoy Final Fantasy XVI when it arrives in June! CAN'T WAIT!

I liked all the 13's. I was attached to lightning's bad ass from the beginning. FF 13-1 was the winner for its story. Still missing out on all the traditional FF elements that I love over the years, I still think they are great with their easter eggs and amazing characters.

Honestly it looks like one of the easiest FF's to get into and love judging from footage/gameplay/All in 1 package/Spectacle and "Rollercoaster" pacing. Non FF fans will eat this shit up simply due to the crazy insane very well polished combat and insane spectacle with the writing either being fine or great to them. FF fans will probably love this because it's the 14 team and no doubt there will be alot of 14 charm in it's writing, character dialogue etc. FF15 had too much gouged out from it and the general audience didn't care for the excess material. FF13 looks more specifically for anime fans due to it's writing/design and nature plus turn based combat which modern gamers see as niche. FFXVI has a grounded medieval backround with a twist. The cast looks formally medieval and this is something all gamers can generally get into since it looks familiar. Combat will def be praised.. a good example is God Of War..in my eyes this is God Of War x Final Fantasy. Believe me this FF will be insanely praised and will sell big numbers if and when they push the marketing hard for this title.

Exciting times! I can't wait to play it!

I dunno if you noticed, but something played during the end of the first trailer, right before the Final Fantasy XVI logo reveal. You might need to pull on your earbuds and heighten the volume to catch the words played during the song. "Come follow me~ Come follow me~ Follow/fulfill your destiny~" What does that mean?!?! DOES THIS PERHAPS PERTAIN TO THE HOODED FIGURE SINCE CLIVE IS FOLLOWING THEM, LEADING HIM TO DESTINY?!?

It’s actually one of my biggest motivators for buying a PS5, along with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and because my PS4 is pushing 6 years old already. Oh and Grand Theft Auto VI whenever it releases which it’ll probably be a PS5 game as well.

Dude, DQ V is my favourite DQ game. Played it when I was thirteen and it cemented my love of the series.

Let's not praise and worship a game before it's even out. Have people not learned from the many times they've done this and the game fails?

Actually, now that you mention it, it might be THE least problematic dev cycle for a mainline ff. Even ff1 was a last ditch effort that if it failed, ff would have never existed like it does today or at all possibly. Ff16 definitely has the makings of greatness and could possibly become one of the best ffs ever made, even compared to the golden era.

Yeah, similar thing happened with me. I tried to get into it 3 times in total. First two, ARR won. But I was so starved for good story-driven games in Lockdown that I gave it a shot again, made it through ARR and never looked back. It's an absolutely phenomenal game, and I wish I could experience it for the first time again. Enjoy your playthrough. Stormblood can get a little slower at times but don't let that fool you, what comes after will absolutely blow you away.

I hated when I was branded a traitor and watched my kingdom fall. Super relatable.

The crazy thing is…if say sixteen outsells ff7 og…Would square make CBU 3 the new head development team for ALL of final fantasy, relegating other units to other ips and not getting to touch it? With yoshie P becoming a sort of “brand manager” like nomura is for Kingdom hearts? I think that would be so good for the ip.

Well, if this game does become a massive hit and is universally loved, I would like for Yoshi-P to be to modern FF what Sakaguchi was to classic FF. Not necessarily directly in charge of every game, but a guiding hand to the series. It's really no coincidence that the franchise has been in decline and experiencing an identity crisis ever since Sakaguchi was forced out of the company.

I could listen to FF16 hype videos all day. I wish there was a video that had all the trailers back to back instead of having to watch them one by one xD

@@theoneonly2406 Happy to help! Final FanTV is the amazing one. It's a fairly small channel, but I think it's going to grow a lot because he makes fantastic content. He's got some great videos speculating about FF16 as well.

I really haven’t been this excited for a Final Fantasy main entry in a long time, and after the debacle that was FFXV I was absolutely crushed that the series could have gotten so bad. Final Fantasy XV tarnished the reputation of the series so bad that I was left with the impression that I shouldn’t buy the series anymore at least until it’s older and I know more about it’s issues. I didn’t even get FF7R (despite being a fan of FF7) until it was on PlayStation Plus, and after finishing it I bought the PS5 version because I had so much fun with it.

FFXVI is in good hands and everything sounds very promising so far! My hype is over 9999, and I really hope we won't be disappointed :). Now, all I want is some uncut gameplay footage (featuring exploration and a hunt quest with party members perhaps?) or a playable demo which I think might come starting from next month.

In Naoki Yoshida we trust. This man is to Square, what Hideaki Itsuno is to CAPCOM. The man spawned from the heavens, saved something that was doomed to fail, refused to elaborate any further and his mere presence generates waves of Chad Energy.

I'm really excited for everyone who can play it, genuinely. If it isn't the best, I'm very sure this game is already revolutionary for Square Enix. Square learned a lot these last games: honesty in development status, being comfortable with the game engine, degree of world openness vs linearity of story, delivering a complete game at day 1, delivering an engaging combat system.

I know 12 is liked by a lot but i don't feel we've had a new, classic, offline entry since X and that was a long time ago. Really hoping this is a smash hit.

If FF16 sells well and is praised by critics and fans, it should prove to Square Enix that Nomura deserves to make a rated-M FFversusXIII!

I hope so, this is the only game I am planning to buy along with Wo Long and perhaps fires of Rubicon, well, maybe if a new Soul Calibur with freaking cutscenes appear that would make a third, I hope to get news about a Castlevania as well.

Thx. I've been a FF fan since they released ff6 (and still love ff6). This video really increases my confidence that ff16 is going to be their newest blockbuster RPG that'll blow old school fans like me away.

Do we know about the chronology of this upcoming game or is the order that we will see the events play out still in the dark. We've definitely seen a lot of young Clive from the trailers. I would not be surprised if the game begins during his youngest stages; but will the story progress linearly or jump around to center on some moment of great importance? I'm most curious about trailer misdirection. A line we see in a trailer that looks important could turn out to nothing when context is added, whereas something insignificant can turn out to be mind blowing. But I'm with you, Prince; I think this game could be huge. I'm still hoping that the "I'll kill you if it's that last thing I do" line is a mercy kill declaration from Clive to Joshua. Keep making your content!

I feel like it will be similar to FF Tactics: the game will start with Clive in 20s (armored) during the war seen in the first trailer. We will do some fights, travel a bit and then we will have a flashback (jump to his teen era) once Clive meet Shiva and found out that she is Jill. Or the flashback could happen in the shot seen in the Revenge trailer when Clive overlooks the battlefield.

I'm fairly positive about this one. The only thing that I'm still concerned is about the RPG elements. Story and music looks amazing and the Hack n Slash part of the combat looks nearly perfect. I'm just dying to know if we will have a magic system (maybe something similar with Crisis Core, but with a lot of options to choose from) and the RPG elements like builds, equipments and some sort of character customization like classes and stuff like that. I'm also really hoping the game is not linear and have the same level of freedom and exploration that games like FF XII had.

If I had to assume, I'd think there will be separate zones, but they will be fairly large. Maybe like the first Xenoblade game (probably not as big as the 3rd game) I just wonder what the progression system will look like. Will it be mostly gear based like FF7 or will it have a big skill tree like FFX?

​@@fattiger6957 Xenoblade's numbered titles is actually a perfect comparison for what FFXVI is going to do with it's exploration (obviously on a much larger/ambitious scale, it's a PS5 title). In 2 for example, there are several nations you visit, the Kingdom of Uraya, Empire of Mor Ardain, Gormott Providence etc all separated from one another but are still absolutely massive on their own, each region with it's own cultures, races, economics, music and enchanting differences visually between regions making everything feel so alive and distinct from one another. Makes it the game so much more immersive and realistic as it mirrors our own planet Earth, we're separated by continents but can still travel across the globe by driving across states, charting the sea or flying through the air.

All the trailers for FFXVI appear to be epic battles and/or cutscenes....has there been any footage of exploration, a world map etc? (Still super excited for this game!!)

Clive could be the character with major impact in the game

FFXV tell instead of show, Ff16 going all out and have ff14 director’s backing it up, not to mention DMC combat. Story already lookin good..Definitely gonna blow everyone away I just know it.

This is another great video. I got just a mild bit of excitement from the first FF16 trailer. Watching you and other FF content creators, my hype has been building exponentially, and it's already through the roof. The anticipation might be nearly unbearable by the time it's about to release haha :) This really does seem like the most promising Final Fantasy we've seen in eons.

I hate getting pulled into hype usually, but I can't contain myself when it comes to this game. I am absolutely convinced it will be a masterpiece.

Only time will tell. Meanwhile I've recently finished FF7 Crisis Core Reunion and damn that game blew away my expectations, easily one of my favourites FFs.

U played it didnt u... Dammit I can't wait for Tuesday. Wonder if Bltzz got to play it as well.

15 could have been amazing, but it was more than unfinished. 7 remake was good but still not perfect.

Great video Nsp. I reckon your channel is gonna boom on release. Given the amount of time the game seems to span, I won't be suprised if we say goodbye to torgal (sp?) At some point. It could be done so effectively. Along with all the other moments. I haven't followed development of this one super closely, I kinda got the team behind it, some interviews and went "I'm good, I'm buying it and I'm confident with the team." It's gonna be a good (and weird) kinda day. These releases seem so few and far between these days, for anyone who grew up with these stories, it's...kinda a big deal. Good stuff.

It does seemly like we might lose Torgal at some point. Here's something I just thought of that could be interesting. Clive has a period where Torgal and him are separated, but finds out later someone thought they had seen him in a very specific area. In a not so obvious side quest, Clive and party can visit that area and find puppies that look like Torgal, even though Torgal himself might be gone.

Hopefully, this is a return to form. I enjoyed Cup Noodles Advertisement 15, but never had an urge to replay it, even after the DLC dropped.

All the pieces are set for this game to be incredible! Can't wait

Really looking forward to getting this game on PC. Sucks that Sony locked it down for timed exclusivity but eh, I'm more than willing to wait for the real release when it launches on PC.

A lot is riding on FF16. There has been way more misses than hits with the FF franchise the last 20 some odd years. The series needs another universally loved game and Square needs to prove they can make a great, new FF game without depending on nostalgia. I am optimistic due to Yoshi-P being the lead on the game. If someone else was in charge, I would be much, much more wary than I am. That guy has a good head on his shoulders. He knows what the audience wants and doesn't get self-indulgent, unlike a particular lead with bangs who takes an ungodly amount of time to finish his games. If there is anyone at Square who can make a great, original FF game, it's Yoshi-P.

I've recently been emulating FFXIII and as much as I'm seeing all the reasons I fell out with the game it's also pretty amazing what they achieved with the engine... The game (visually at least) holds up better than most PS3 games. While the trailers for 16 haven't grabbed me like most other FF trailers, the combat being developed by someone who worked on Dragon's Dogma certainly makes me optimistic about it being enjoyable to play... Though I won't pre-order a Square Enix PC game, because they tend to fuck it up, I'll certainly keep an eye on it and think about purchase if the reviews don't point out any major issues.

Look, Final Fantasy XIV, I'm really happy for you, and imma finish you, but Final Fantasy XVI has the potential to be one of the best games of ALL TIME!
