Hi Tyler, Thank you for your great coverage of The National. It was quite sad when it shut down for this year. You don’t need me to tell you that you are good at what you do. You are in my top 5 sports card dealers. You don’t bs, thank goodness. Have a great rest of the Summer, Peter

Every time I watch Tyler’s videos I expect for him to tell someone who’s trying to low ball him “DON’T YOU EVER DISRESPECT ME!”

Why is it dealer etiquette to not put cards out you bought from people at the show? So many different logical reasons as to why this makes no sense. 1) If they sold you cards its safe to say they probably made money, or they got liquidity they needed to spend at the show, why are you not allowed to do the same at the same show? 2) A lot of the people who you buy from at shows are repeat customers, they know you need to make margins, why is it disrespectful to do something they and everyone knows your doing. 3) Those people will see the cards put out at the next show, or in a instagram live show, what does waiting to sell them accomplish? 4) The same people who sell you cards, are also buying cards from you and selling/trading them to other dealers/guests at the same show. I can keep going on but I thought I would end it with an actual example. I just came back from a big show, day 1 was insane, before the show started dealers bought around 40 cards off me (almost a full showcase). Half way through day 2 I had to take my buying sign down to get caught up on pricing new pickups because the showcases were getting empty and lines of people looking to sell me were forming. If I didn't put that new inventory in the showcases I would have had empty showcases for what reason? Maybe you and the giant dealers that have unlimited inventory stashed to fill can do this, but most dealers don't have this. Also, I am sure all the customers like to see a full showcase of cards to buy rather than empty ones. If you want to say you feel guilty doing it and you don't want to do it that's fine, but saying its dealer etiquette is just grand standing.

It’s just what I was raised on and how I was taught as a kid growing up at shows. You’re allowed to feel how you feel, and so am I 🤷🏻‍♂️

I agree. If I paid for a table I have the right to reload my show case. The ones walking around paid $5 to get in to sell stuff. I paid $100+ for the table. I get both sides though. I usually only use what I bought to fill in gaps.
