SKAGIT RAIN JACKET
Waterproof and breathable-made for fishing.
Some of the world’s best fishing for steelhead, chrome-bright and fresh out the saltwater, happens during the stormiest, wettest months of the coastal Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Built with Filson’s proprietary Rain Cloth™ waterproof fabric, those are the exact conditions we had in mind when engineering our Skagit Rain Jacket.
Rain Cloth™ is a three-layer fabric consisting of an extremely tough, tightly-woven nylon shell with a waterproof/breathable membrane laminated to its interior. The membrane is full of millions of microporous holes that are too tiny for water to penetrate, yet allow vapors to escape to the outside, keeping you dry and non-sweaty. On the interior is a brushed tricot backer that adds warmth and aids in the dispersion of moisture. To ensure fully-waterproof protection, all seams are sealed with waterproof, flexible tape. Unique to Skagit Rain Jacket, the Rain Cloth™ shell fabric is optimized to excel in the specific conditions a hardcore angler may encounter. The 5.3-oz. nylon is extremely resistant to punctures and tears, keeping the waterproof membrane protected from the thorns and brush often found while bushwhacking down to the river.
Casting in the rain wearing and ordinary rain jacket can mean water running down your arms, so the Skagit is equipped with Velcro®-cinch neoprene cuffs to create a water-tight seal. Since big fish often require big flies, the center-entry zippered pockets are sized to handle large fly boxes and make access to them easy, even while wearing bulky layers. The microfleece-lined handwarmer pockets are located at chest height to make them accessible while huddled in the bow of a jet boat blasting upriver. The two-way drawcord-adjustable hood and hem can be cinched down for protection from severe rain and wind, and the water-resistant YKK® AquaGuard® front zipper is backed by a storm flap with microfleece chin guard to ensure full protection from the elements. For added convenience, webbing loops on the chest allow attachment of zingers for nippers, forceps or other often-used accessories. Since nothing can spoil a great day of fishing like losing your keys in deep water, the interior zippered pocket stores valuables securely and out of the way.
The Skagit Rain Jacket-waterproof, breathable protection engineered for the angler with a design that’s streamlined for multi-use utility.
Waterproof and breathable, made with our proprietary RainCloth™ fabric.
In the field or on a boat, your day doesn’t end when the weather turns foul. The Skagit Rain Pants, built with our proprietary Rain Cloth™, are the ideal waterproof/breathable outer layer to keep your legs dry and protected from rain, snow, sea spray or wet brush.
The rain pants are built with the same Rain Cloth™ as our Skagit Rain Jacket-a three layer fabric consisting of an extremely tough, tightly-woven nylon shell with a waterproof/breathable membrane laminated to its interior. The membrane is full of millions of microporous holes that are too tiny for water to penetrate, yet allow vapors to escape to the outside, keeping you dry and non-sweaty. On the interior is a brushed tricot backer that adds warmth and aids in the dispersion of moisture. To ensure fully-waterproof protection, interior seams are sealed with waterproof, flexible tape. This Rain Cloth ™ fabric is optimized for durability-the 5.3-oz. nylon shell is extremely resistant to punctures and tears, keeping the membrane safe from thorns and brush. For added durability and protection, the cuffs and lower inseams are reinforced with tough Cordura® nylon.
There’s no point to having rain pants that are difficult to put on or wear, so the Skagits feature two-way, full-length, water-resistant side zippers that makes slipping on over bulky boots a snap. Whether you prefer a belt, braces or no extra support, these rain pants can accommodate-the elasticated waist band is equipped with 7 wide belt loops as well as removable elastic suspender straps. The zipper-fly, front-hand and rear-welted pockets secure with water-resistant YKK® AquaGuard® zippers to minimize the possibility of water entry. Rubberized snaps are employed on the cuff-adjustment tabs and waist band to minimize the corrosive effects of saltwater environments. To top off the well-rounded feature set of these extra-comfortable rain pants, the knees are articulated for non-binding ease of motion.
The Skagit Rain Pants-fully waterproof lower-body protection that’s built for comfort, durability and ease-of-use.
