This is so insightful--though I'm no filmmaker there is so much crossover to life of a content creator. I need to be better at scouting locations--not putting pressure on myself to get everything done in a day, putting the work into my own 'pre-production' work, etc.

Absolutely! I’m totally guilty of thinking I have something to prove all the time and it made me worse for it :/ but letting go of that’s actually helped a ton!

Always appreciative of honesty in filmmakers because yes YT content is completely different than the other job. On the camera comparison side you brought up, I personally would really enjoy watching a camera shoot out where you play to each cameras strengths and show footage. A lot of people do silly comparisons like how I made my iPhone look like an arri Alexa, which isn’t the case anyways, but instead of making them look as similar as possible show what makes them stand out over the competition. Maybe I’m the only one that feels that way though… anyways thanks for sharing your insights!

Been a viewer for over a year now, I believe I worded that wrong my fingers could keep up with my thought process. Just meant like in general with reviews not yours personally. Glad to see that you are able to earn from both avenues. Hoping to be able to do the same, so these types of videos are very valuable.

Ah yes, some of the greatest ways to learn & improve, mistakes and failure. We're not perfect and appreciate you giving us solid advice, I've definitely made mistakes on my part when filming projects of mine in the past! Live and learn! Leveling up from it and not letting them hold you down!
