There is a storyline series as well where they give them a well, a storyline! (The one im talking about in this comment is universe 3 and i just realized u will be going to universe 2 next which makes sense 🤦‍♀️ lol) I recommend checking that out too! They came out with a full like 10~15 minute animation that has each of their storylines in it and bts reacted to it as well! U can check that out to if u want!😁

FYI: Shooky is a literal cookie, that's why he melts away in milk and why Kooky (JK's character) has "Eating Shooky" as a hobby lol. That's also why Suga suggested it be turned into an actual cookie product 😂

I always hate it when i see some ARMYs commenting that BT21 is the only BTS related content that they havnt watched, and r not gonna watch since "it doesnt have BTS in it" i cant belive some are so stubborn not to give it a try, just because they cant see the members in it..😔😠

It’s so amazing that the way Alex discovered our BT21 is just the same way BTS has wished. He found out these characters in a store, recognized their charisma and later on figure out they are related to BTS. 🥰🥰

The most effective way to capture the general public! So many people have bt21 products but they don't even know they're BTS related. My boss has bt21 pens, which she bought just cos they're cute.

@@EvieKng this is so true. I have a colleague who has an unofficial chimmy sanitizer. I was so happy when I saw it but it turns out, she doesn't know who Chimmy is. It was given to her by her friend. And that friend is also not an ARMY who doesn't even know the character is BTS related. Even some of our clients wore unofficial bt21 merchandise. I know they're not ARMYs because I will mention any BT21 character or any BTS member out of nowhere without context (for example I'll say "Mang" or "Jung Hoseok" out of the blue) and they will not react. They don't recognize the name.

Everywhere Jin goes, be it local or overseas, he's got RJ merch with him.

each one has their little stories and from time to time they do live on their youtube channel, their "personalities" are similar to that of the boys and their merch is everything you can imagine

Actually the RJ name of RJ does really makes sense now, even though it's just a coincidence when you flipped Jin's hangeul name ' 진 ' you can see the word RJ. 🤭😂

Mang can mean pony or fail, it is also part of huimang, meaning hope. RJ's name... Alpaca in Korean sounds like Alpaca with a Korean accent. Jin played with the Hangul spelling, 알파카and the romanization of the letters. 알 [ahl] 파 [pah] 카 [kah]. The first syllable is made up of 3 letters, ㅇ ㅏ ㄹ. ㅇ is a place holder when at the beginning of a syllable and is silent. ㅏ is the vowel ahh sound. (There are 21 vowels in korean, and they have just one sound, unlike English). ㄹ is the letter named rieul [ree-ewl]. Alpaca Jin...so why not AJ? Alpaca has the ㅏ[ahh] vowel, while AJ would have a different vowel, either ㅐ orㅔ And why not LJ instead of RJ? When ㄹ comes at the end of a syllable, it is romanized as L. The sound is similar to an English L. However, when ㄹ comes at the beginning of a syllable it is romanized as an R and has the sound of a Spanish R (a soft d sound, not the rolling R of rr). When Jin is explaining RJ he says "알 [ahl] J" Which sounds like RJ because of something batchim (final consonant pronunciations). Hopefully, that was somewhat clear.

Watch the entire process and pay attention to everything the members say. The animators incorporate alot of BTS' ideas into future cartoon episodes. Including details from other BTS content. Easter eggs everywhere!

Next up is BT21 Universe 1. They create back stories for each of the characters and they produce incredibly creative mini-movies for each! I don't want to spoil it for you, but rest assured they pull out all the stops creativity-wise.

shooky = suga + cookie; the cookie that jungkook drew for his own character. none of yoongi's characters really stuck out, so they decided to make jungkook's character's cookie, yoongi's character. they did use the expressions yoongi drew for shooky though. that's why he's a brown circle; he's literally a cookie.

Universe 2 is where they start really flushing out backstories for the BT21 characters

The background stories of the characters is also a very fun series to check out !!

I recomment reacting to Chimmy's short story about how he met Tata, it's so heartbreaking it made me cry :( I also think it's the most popular BT21 animation

Definitely BT21 become famous in their own as BTS wanted. They are collaborated with many brands more than BTS. What I like is that BTS always promote and give love to their characters every time they could, even now, especially Jin with RJ. Also, It's awesome how every time BTS made something, they participed as much as they can. Like BT21, Maple Story and the new products made by BTS. (I recommend you watch this) 💜

BT21 are really successful and popular...i actually know first these characters before i could have got interest in BTS and later on found out that it was BTS created them...which is funny and odd hahaha but im glad... the creative team also the marketing team are all amazing for helping BTS to create these lovely characters and BTS also really adore and love them just like their own children. You could see them having their characters on some of their tours and shows. BT21 is a legendary idol hahaha, their merch is so diverse, basically anything you can imagine! Too much merch to the point that you can build a house with it. They have sanitary products, stationery, fashion, etc

It took me a year to figure out that when you rotate RJ 90 degrees clockwise, it spells Jin in Hangul - 진 It's hard to tell with this font. But yeah, the sneaky genius put a dad joke into his kid's name. I don't know why more people don't talk about that. hehe

I felt like nobody told you this, LINE is a Korean messaging app company, like WhatsApp, but there. In the lad years, LINE has made a lot of collaborations to expand their company, so i think like in 2017-2018, they collaborated with BTS to create stickers for the app, that was the initial point on creating BT21, but obviously, they made merch of it, like clothes how they showed in the video you watched, but other stuff as well, like lamps, toys, plushies, keychains, and so on. I hope you can continue with the BT21 universe series!

I would love for you to continue reacting to the rest of the series. They come up with the story line themselves and even react to the characters intros. They are so involved throughout the process which make us love the characters more.

Would love to see your opinion of BTS performing Boy with Luv on Stephen Colbert. It is filmed in black and white. Stephen does an impression of Ed Sullivan while introducing BTS (as Sullivan introduced the Beatles to the US back in the day.) They are wearing suits just as the Beatles did. I think it would be something you may enjoy. Also, the in person performance of Black Swan on James Corden. The dance is slightly different as is the stage setting and performed barefoot.

I saw a lot of people say it's RJ. Even sellers say RJ was always sold out. We don't know the truth tho as we don't have the official sales from the company.

Yes.. TATA sells out like crazy. It gets four shelves when the others get one.. and still ends up selling out the fastest.

I love this product line. I so want an RJ pillow and and Koya bluetooth speaker. I do have a Chimmy pillow and it is so cute!!!. I collected the mystery BT21 toy set and each figure was delivered in Van container, so I have 7 Van figures 😆, that I can paint and style with paint and pens

In Korean, the alphabet used for the "R" and the "L" sounds, is the same;ㄹ. Those two sounds aren't pronounced the way they are in English (R's aren't rolled like in English, L's are a lot sharper too), so it's difficult to romanize it in a way that's accurate. Seokjin was pronouncing alpaca as a combination of "al-paca" and "ar-paka". Initially, when he chose the name, he didn't say, "RJ", he said something that was a combination of "al-jay" and "ar-jay". That's why the designer was a bit confused. They later stylized it as "RJ" for convenience. Fun fact: 진 is how "Jin" is written in Korean, and if you tilt your head to the left and look at it, it reads "RJ" :) 8:22 hopw that clears it up.

BT21 is so successful. Seriously there are people who are fans just of bt21. And now you have releases made only in some places like bt21 Japan or Taiwan have different products from BT21 Korea. Not to mention the collaboration deals bt21 gets like currently in my country there's a Collab of bt21 with a big local clothing brand, there's also a Collab with nationwide local bakery for bt21 themed cakes. There's a Collab with ChaTime the milk tea place, and another Collab with a shampoo brand with a free bt21 pouch for the purchase. I've seen other countries have a variety of other collabs too with their local brands. Then if you think about it, BTS also has Tiny Tan, who is also independent in a way because tiny tans had collaborations with Downy with ads as well as some beverage lately. It's so interesting. Btw check out the bt21 Kiehl's ASMR video for fun 🤣

I have a bt21 tamagotchi lol. I have to restrain myself because truthfully I want to buy so much bt21 merch. Definitely think you’ll like it when they do the animated vids for each character.

since im a bt21 lover ill expand more on them...it became such a huge thing thats honestly stand alone from bts from sections of line stores being dedicated to bt21 to having permanent physical stores all over the world (they distribute some basic items to hmvs in the uk and i know in the us you can get some stuff in hot topic as well), there is a bt21 mobile game, literally anything you can imagine as merch with these characters (the pyjamas, mechanical keyboards, covers for golf clubs, air purifying posters like what ???) bts go on to make back stories for all of them and create families for each character. they tried to do like an evil version of bt21 which was the only fail id say cause they stopped focusing on them after a while, there is baby bt21 which is even cuter (hard to imagine but trust me)..they do seasonal plushies for christmas, halloween, winter, summer...there is an short animated series, they did a collab with baby shark and made a remix...like this is marketing madness to me also fun fact jin made line friends make him a life sized RJ figurine (like that thing is as tall as him) when you watch run ep or bon voayage or anything you can look for bt21 items cause they do use them a bunch in these..especially jin he is truly an rj lover that thing goes with him on tour, everywhere lol...sory i dont use commas

Watching your happy reactions to the characters development was such a joy! And true to firm, I learned another bit of film technology re: the giant gopro camera. Van is cool as he's like the protector of BT21, always watching over them, the way ARMY does with BTS. Jin never travels without an RJ. And apparently he's given many/most of the staff they work with small RJs, which you can see hanging off of their bags or belts.
