    This was an absolutely fantastic video, thanks for sharing! Your pacing, detailed run through, video chapters and just everything shown was overall so helpful in demystifying some of the behind the scenes stuff that can feel so daunting when starting out. It also solidified how a camera can only do so much, but it's the lighting that really makes the shot oftentimes. I really appreciate it, keep it up!

    You crushed it man!! I work at a video production company doing interviews exactly like this all the time and this is the go-to setup for us as well. We use Sony FX3's but in my personal work I'm going heavy into Fujifilm and considering picking up the XH2S, so it's awesome to see how they perform in this setup. I absolutely love the barn doors light streak on the back wall, gonna find a time to use that! Thanks for the inspo and keep up the great work!

    This is incredibly helpful for me. Love the straightforward approach showing exactly how you got to the final look (which looks really good to my eye). I've been highly curious about the X-h2s but this may have sold me. I much prefer the greener look to the magenta. I know it can be fixed in post but sometimes I'd rather just see the image I want to see on the lcd right away. Yeah, great video man. Looking forward to more of your shared behind the scenes.

    Thanks so much George! Yeah it's a great camera. The tint shift I imagine was just from the lenses but I haven't done any detailed testing on that. Both the XT3 and XH2S are great. Glad you found the video helpful :)

  • @glenis83

    @glenis83

    Жыл бұрын

    @@blasepivovar Yeah, I have the XT3 and its been great. I've been debating trading in for the XH2S to have sort of a one camera all-arounder for photo and video. Personally the grip style on the XH2S works better for me. In your opinion, is the XH2S worth the trade in? Big factors for me are the open gate, IBIS and improved autofocus... and grip.

  • @blasepivovar

    @blasepivovar

    Жыл бұрын

    @@glenis83 Get that. Totally would just depend on your needs for IBIS + AF. I don't personally need open gate or an improved grip, but the AF + IBIS has been great for the work where I am a one man band and needing to capture a lot on the fly.

    Super useful vid! Your work is killer, brother. What did you use for audio? I'm guessing a boom mic of sorts and I noticed a DR10L ontop of the xt3. How were you using that in this scenario? Thanks for sharing and keep doing you!✌🏽

    Thanks so much! Great question. Audio wise I was running the MKE 600 boom mic straight into the XH2S. Also attached to the end of the boom pole was the Movo VXR-10, which was run directly into the XT3 as a backup audio source (didn’t end up needing it in the edit). The DR-10L that you see was just sitting there in case I needed to quickly place it on someone but I didn’t end up using it. Hope that helps!

    Thanks Esteban! I have the Fringer EF-FX PRO II's and have been loving them on my Fuji cameras. I was using manual focus in this scenario but I do rely on the autofocus for a lot of other projects that I do. I am really satisfied with how well they work with the XH2S as well as the XT3. Check the link in my description for them. Hope that helps!

    Thanks man! I love the 24-70 with the Fuji. AF is great and it pairs really well with the 18-35 for my needs. The image feels very similar between the two lenses so two camera stuff like this ends up matching really well without much work.

    I would say the image from the XH2S using F-Log 2 is noticeably better than anything coming out of the XT3 due to the increased dynamic range. However the image shooting film simulations like classic chrome looks pretty similar. The main things I wanted when upgrading from my XT3 were IBIS, no record limits and F-Log 2 and I have been super happy with that decision.

    Yes for sure! I usually end up feeling like just a softbox alone isn’t soft enough on skin for my liking. Since the Rx-18td already has a layer of diffusion, the reflector diffuses it a second time which usually looks really nice. The reflector is also just easier for me to transport with how big of a source it is, verses having to transport a huge softbox. Just my preference but yes i think similar results could be had in several different ways! Hope that helps :)
