Filming Birdlife in America's Arctic

The northernmost reaches of Alaska contain a vast expanse of tundra wetlands, which are home to some of the highest recorded densities of breeding shorebirds in the Arctic. This is "America's Arctic," and millions of birds from all over the world flock to Alaska's wetlands every year to nest and raise their young.
Come along with Cornell Lab, Center for Conservation Media photographer Gerrit Vyn as he travels to the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska near Teshekpuk Lake to capture images of some of the region’s most iconic bird species.
America’s Arctic is one of North America’s last great wilderness areas, a critical habitat for migratory birds from around the world, and a treasure to be protected for future generations.
The Department of the Interior has issued a new rule protecting 13 millions acres of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska, and are soliciting public comments until Nov 7, 2023. Please consider adding your voice of support here: www.protectthearctic.org/corn... .

US Congress should designate this area as a protected national forest so that all these birds don't lose their nesting grounds.

Nice vid. Lucky are the people who can visit a truly untouched land like this! I had the chance to photography the Rudy Turnstone this past spring here on the New Jersey Coast. Not being a birder, had to look it up & the book says they head up to the Artic Tundra & show Northern Alaska. Some beautiful looking birds in this video.

You need to learn how to paddle a canoe, first move the seat forward to keep the bow down second learn a simple J stroke third your usingthat paddle bacwards. If your paddling solo in a regular canoe turn the boat around and sit in the bow seat backwards so you are now looking at the stern, that way you are more forward and you will keep the front of the boat down. It drives me nuts watching people paddle a canoe...If you learn the simple J stroke you can paddle must of the day from one side and not have to go from side to side, which makes it difficult to go straight. Also I use canoes and kayaks I use a kayak in open seas and canoes in creeks and rivers and lakes they can get into much tighter places and are far more quiet. Take me with you next time I'll teach you for free😊

Much of the stone art that I found in North Carolina is a depiction of a bird as the main outside image. Ancient people cannot carry around 20 different statues so they created a multi faceted style of art that I am trying to share with you so that you can actually learn the true history instead of relying on theory. The books before books were made of Stone.
