    That was what I hoped for a second when I saw it first from very far away, but it quickly flew and then the identification was clear.

    Ross's Geese never ever have a look on Google Maps. In my opinion from Belgium it would be the easier way via the UK, Iceland and Greenland back to Canada 🙂 But I bet they gonna take the Norwegian route one more time. Would have been nice if they carried a transmitter. But even the ring has been spectacular, because it proves the bird's wild origin. Nice video one more time!

    I think they will just follow the Barnacle Geese into their breeding grounds. What will happen next we will see. Maybe the do find their way back home, but as it is probably a pair maybe they will just start breeding amongst the Barnacle Geese. The ring is so cool because it gives you insight in how a real wild vagrant can behave and it also shows the concept of a carrierspecies is real, although they can switch species.

    En dan te bedenken dat ik slaapplaatstellingen deed in de Engbertsdijksvenen in1985 met 2000 Taigarietganzen... :)

    Indrukwekkend hoeveel tijd en moeite je in de Ross' ganzen gestopt hebt. Gelukkig heb je ze teruggevonden. Prettig weekend!

    Ja once in a lifetime event natuuurlijk dus dan liever wat meer tijd investeren voor goede beelden die ik in de toekomst nog vaker kan gebruiken. Ik hoop dat ze straks verkassen naar het Lauwersmeer zodat ik ze daar nog eens vaker kan zien als ik een dagje Lauwersmeer pak wat ik sowieso van plan ben vaker te doen in April en Mei

    Bedoel je dat het om hetzelfde exemplaar gaat? Er zitten natuurlijk wel meerdere Amerikaanse Wintertalingen in de lage landen. Ook 1 in Limburg laatst
