Film vs Digital Photography

Film vs Digital Photography
Fujifilm is famous for its ability to emulate film photography. I recently purchased the Leica Minilux to put it through it's paces and decided to see if you could spot film vs digital shots.
So I threw this video together and gamified it to see if you can tell the difference? Film vs digital. Leica vs Fujifilm.

Very very interesting video thx a lot. In my opinion the images were not even close to be mistaken. Was very clear which camera every time. Please do more of this

I think I will do more film vs digital every now and then. I think they’re fun videos too. Even if the more trained eye finds it easy to distinguish between the two. I’m sure there’s more tricks I could use to better emulate film on the Fuji.

Nice video. In from Australia. Got two wrong, but shoot with a cinebloom filter on around the clock so could pick that. Waiting on an XT5 to turn up and can't wait now. Cheers.

It’s a great choice of camera. What lens are you pairing with it?

XF 23mm f/1.4 R LM WR is what I opted for to pair with the XT5. As soon as I get it, I'm travelling to Melbourne to shoot the City, then out to St Kilda to shoot Luna Park by night. Loving what the Fuji is giving us :-)

Nice one. The 35mm lenses are more popular but I always rated the 23mm more myself too. Great choice!

I missed many because with old lenses and filters, it’s nearly impossible to make a solid guess at least for me

Hey guys, what's the name of the town please? I missed many of them to be honest, but they were all very good and interesting. It was a nice contrast with one of your previous videos on the same location with B&W pictures on a foggy day. Both this and that video great! Cheers, Ray.

Those videos were both shot in the same place. A small fishing town called Staithes on the east coast of Yorkshire. It’s just a few miles north from Whitby, famous for inspiring the story of Drakula.

Sadly, I got almost all of them right. I say sadly because I have a fuji film digital camera and I raelly, really want that film look, but man, that shit's expensive af.

Yeah it’s really expensive and time consuming to develop your own film. There’s probably a better way to get the film look with Fujifilm. I know some videographers stretch women’s tights/pantyhose across the front of the lens to try and soften the image. Might be worth trying with old lenses?

Mitakan is not Minolta; Mitakan is a Mainland Chinese company 中一光学(Shenyang One Optical Electronics Co., Ltd. 瀋陽中一光学電子)。 Mitakon used to be OEM for Japanese lens manufacturer Mitake lens(三竹光学 it closed a long time ago). Do not mix with Minolta and Mitakon, please.

Mitake Optics was a mediocre third-party lens maker. Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina survived, but Mitake was bankrupt.

You can't be serious.... These are the worst images of any Fuji camera I saw in my life... You need to put some more effort for your Leica unpaid commercial and especially in a famous photography-youtuber-humor department.

I can’t imagine how you watch this video and get so angry… I don’t think he’s uploading these photos claiming they’re works of art. In fact he said in the video not to take this too seriously… And Leica commercial? He didn’t talk up or talk down either brand. He just seems like a new KZreadr that’s having some fun. Who hurt you?

@@Station9.75 It's just that's almost impossible to get these results so bad out of any fuji camera, let alone XT4... so yeah it looks like a deliberate marketing stunt that went bad...and you can say I am really sensitive about this kind of fake content, just for the sake of clicks... be honest and do a good job at representing gear, this way it will get you nowhere.
