My drum teacher and lifelong friend Butch Ballard on drums!
Such amazing playing, dancing, and singing!
This is priceless ! Clean head and Sam “The Man” Taylor ! Oh My !
It is a valuable video that shows that Cootie had a wonderful technique. Thank you for uploading!
Just the greatest 😊♥️
Beautiful to see and hear the influence of Louis Armstrong in Cootie's playing. And I had never heard of the Douglas Brothers or the "Lindy Hoppers". I wonder how many other great artists there are that have gone mostly unnoticed. I had heard Laurel Watson in the company of Roy Eldridge's band... but seeing her here was beautiful.
AMAZING!!
Thank you for posting this!
worth it just for Cleanhead Vinson alone
my question is was her song saying 'V, V for Victory' a reference to the NAACP Campaign of DoubleV: Victory at Home and over seas, end Fascism overseas and here at home? 1941 PH was hit and in 42 the campaign was initiated in philly.
