Oh there's so many stuck in the sunken place huh? -adult fishes -birds -nemo's classmates -dory and parents -dentist and the lil girl -destiny and her friend -animals hugging -octupus -turtles My god this theory is just stupid.

To make this theory make more sense: Nemo means nobody, “Finding Nobody” Baracuda attack kills his entire family, Marlin makes up the delusion that his son is still alive, he meets friends that help him move on. (So everybody else in the movie are real just not Nemo.) Dory helps Marlin by showing him to live in the moment (hence her short term memory loss as a metaphor). In the whale scene, Dory tells Marlin to ‘let go’ and that ‘everything will be alright’. Once he does, he is almost a completely changed person and becomes ecstatic and cheerful. The sharks help Marlin by making him realize that not everything is a threat. The turtles help Marlin with his anxiety. When Marlin finds Nemo, the second time he sends off Nemo to school, he has no hesitation about it. This is actually Marlin finally coming to terms and moving on.

Sp when did nemo die then? As this video suggests it was at the beginning in the barracuda attack which would make him only an egg? So for him to have known nemo, nemo would have had to exist at some point and then have died later? So if this theory is to stand then when did nemo die and how?

Then there's the theory that Nemo never existed, and none of them are actually fish. It's one guy's bad drug trip, imagining he's a fish, and has a fish kid, and his fish kid is missing. Meanwhile, in reality, he's in the ER being treated for a massive overdose.

I would agree with this if it werent for the fact that we, as an audience, watch things occur from Nemo's perspective. Did we imagine Nemo too? Not to mention the list of other characters in the movie who interact with nemo. I would agree if the entire movie was from the father's perspective.

My theory is that Nemo is nobody but Marlin is probably stilled in a deep sleep after the attack dreaming about what it would be like having one of his deceased family member making it realistic and sad while Marlin faces the 5 stages of greif

God this theory is soooooooooo old....

I don't know why people say "this will ruin ur childhood" like not it's a Theory that means it may or may not be true

so from what i’ve heard, the barracuda never actually attacked. Clown fish are cannibals and apparently the mom attacked which explains the rest of the story.

Captain Nemo isn't the first literary sailor to use the trick of using no one as a name. Odysseus uses it in the Odyssey with the Cyclops, so the author with Captain Nemo could be alluding to that mythical sailor with the play on his name.

This theory really doesn’t work. If it’s true that Marlin is imagining Nemo only and going through the five stages of grief, it doesn’t add up. Because at the end of the film during Marlin’s alleged hallucination of Nemo, he says Nemo lying apparently dead at the dentists office and after that he seems to give up looking for Nemo, because he has accepted that Nemo really is gone. But if that is so, why does Nemo appear at the end of the film again? Why does Marlin despite his acceptance hear Nemo calling out, see him and then reunited with him? If he accepted Nemo died, would he really go back to denial again? Unless you suggest Marlin has DID, there’s no reason to conclude anything other than Nemo was indeed alive the whole time. And the same thing goes for Nemo being present in Finding Dory. This theory just doesn’t work and I wish you would stop spewing conspiracy theories in children movies. Literally every child movies, you can spin something out of hand as a conspiracy and honestly it’s really annoying.

If Marlin was with Nemo at the dentist's office, I might be able to see some SLIGHT plausibility to this theory. As Marlin is NOT there, why would the audience see interactions with the other fish in the tank that Marlin DOESN'T see?! That's where the whole theory falls apart and shows itself to be rubbish!!!!!

Here it is explained more clearly. Nemo means 'no one' in Latin. Most likely, the dad us delusional and schizophrenic after the lost of his kids and family. He then creates this persona of his own son because he still hasn't let go of the situation.
