Just wanna say, the “Titanomachy” depicted in Disney’s Hercules is much more similar to the Gigantomachy. The two are separate events which are often confused. The Titanomachy was the ten-year battle between the Olympians and the Titans that ended with the Titans being imprisoned in Tartarus. The Gigantomachy was a battle with the Giants, and the one Heracles was involved in.

As someone who took Oceanography in college I got to say I am so proud of MatPat for talking about the Minoans for Atlantis because that's where I leaned about them! Not from Greek mythology lectures in literature when we were discussing the Minotaur in Highschool, but the beginnings of Human Civilization as it related to the ocean AND that class is also where I learned about the Minoans originating the Monitor myths. I am so proud of MatPat for knowing that and including it here. First KZreadr I have seen to actually research this one deeper than saying "Atlantis was a myth". Thank you MatPat for constantly searching deeper into the history books than simply leaving anything on surface level knowledge (or non knowledge as the case may be 😅). Thank you and I really appreciate it

Also add in the fact that the movie specifically said that the curse had been spreading for a thousand years (ever since the demigod took the stone) and it was only now reaching their island? That curse had been moving even slower. Doesn't matter because Matpats point still stands. That curse did absolutely nothing that couldn't be prevented or delayed

Yes, there was. And her and Maui took a detour to get the hook too. Also, Maui claimed to have been stranded on the island for 1000 years, which is far more than the 300 years. That darkness is spreading far, far slower than the estimated 5.4 miles per year. In fact, just using 1000 years as the only change, that's like 1.6 miles per year. Then there's the wasted first day and the detour. Oh, and the fact that, on that first day, she wasn't on yet another detour to go to Maui's island and find him.

I'm oddly proud of Dinosaur being number 1 in most Disney deaths and being the last one talked about, because Dinosaur is one of my favorite Disney movies, I watched it DOZENS of times when I was a kid, and still to this day, I LOVE IT! Even more so due to it being a highly underrated and overlooked movie compared to Land Before Time and the newer The Good Dinosaur. It had one of the scariest scenes I have ever seen in any Disney movie: the meteor scene. It's probably something I've had nightmares about and dreaded imagining happening in modern days. Just imagine looking up at the sky as it turns red and dark, then there's a meteor shower, and suddenly you see this HUGE FREAKING FIRE ROCK fall down and disappears behind the horizon at the sea, followed by a bright light, a mushroom cloud, a shockwave and then a ROAR, followed then by debris coming your way... accompanied by intense, panicky background music and panicking lemurs trying desperately to run away from their certain doom! Also the CGI at the time of its release is so amazingly realistic, even when the animals are making human facial expressions and talking, they still look very real, and the locations in the movie are filmed at real life landscapes. As a kid, I thought it was all CGI and thought the rocks and water looked so incredibly real... and that's because they ARE real. It's just the animals and meteor shower and disaster that's been computer generated into the filming, but I think they probably did use some animatronics at certain scenes, like when Aladar gets up from the water and steps on some rocks and we see his wet feet, the rocks seem real enough, so they're likely being moved by an animatronic maybe, I dunno, I'm just guessing here. And maybe replaced by CGI later? Dinosaur may not be as big or popular or musical or successful as The Lion King or Frozen or whatever, but it has a special place in my heart, and it is the reason why carnotaurs are my favorite carnivorous dinosaurs and why I also have a soft spot for iguanodons. Dinosaur deserves more love and attention, and I think becoming number 1 on the death count of Disney movies definitely gives it more attention than the movies that already has so much recognition like TLK and Hercules and what not. Dinosaur FTW!

11:23 I don’t understand how Atlantis didn’t get more popular. I think it failed at first since it came out the same week as Chamber of Secrets, and I guess it never caught on enough after because not enough people heard about it due to the poor release date, but I still can’t really comprehend it. My mom and her best friend (the mother of my best friend at the time) took us to see it when it came out, and it was my favorite Disney movie ever since. Even most of my friends now, all these years later, also agrees that it is one of the best Disney movies. The older I get, the more I love the movie, it’s seriously underrated. The art/animation is just so cool. The characters and storyline too. Idk, I just really love it, especially the art style

Superman. The answer is Superman. Turning the Earth backwards wouldn't turn back time, it would just throw the Earth off its rotation, ultimately dooming everything on Earth to die in the frozen reaches of space... Superman killed everyone.... Or, if we're just looking at on-screen deaths, it's still Superman. He basically wiped out New York in Man of Steel. Not on purpose, but those deaths are still his / Zod's.

I am most definitely late on this, but according to my calculations, Sir Matpat (sad you are no longer with us but I hope that your team can investigate this now) I'm fairly certain WALL-E is the movie with the most deaths. As according to another theory the residents of the Axium have been eating each other... Plus the amount of time the last of humanity was living on the ship... There are more deaths in Hercules than anything else. When you mentioned the deaths in The Lion King, you said that the hyenas counted. So it’s apparently not only the death’s that are shown, but the one’s we know have happened. In the movie Hercules there is an underworld scene, where there is every person which died until 6 to 7 centuries B. C.

I totally haven’t watched this video 15 times and my guess is totally Dinosaur

Personally, I think that the most devastating death was Lemur #5021, she was starting to recover from a lung transplant, and was planning to study law and become a judge to make her small family proud so they would never have to starve again. She had gotten accepted into Lemur University Campus and was going home to tell her family and friends to celebrate, only to find them all burnt to death and find their dismembered corpses in the ocean. I know I’m late, but here I go anyway. I have a rebuttal to the death toll in Moana. You said that people living on the islands would have had enough time to evacuate and relocate because of it’s slow movement. However, if that really was the case, wouldn’t Moana’s island be filled with refugees from these other islands? Seeing as that possibility is never even presented, let alone mentioned, in the movie itself, I personally think that this theory is false. Maybe the curse travels slower over water than over land, as seen in the flashback when Maui stole the Heart. The curse could have a slower influence as it’s still creeping up on an island, but when it’s close enough to dry land, it accelerates and quickly swallows the island. Also seeing as the main events if the movie take place over about a week, this would not really be a lot of time for an island to understand what is happening and quickly abandon their home. @@milkman4407 ... atlantic (at least with Milo) took place in the early 1900's-1910's (when world war 2 was starting), and herc took place back in ancient greece. If we get a crosover should it be before Atlantis sank into the ocean and before the Titanomarchy began. (the best would have been back in that Herc tv series when he enter school, and by that point most of Aladin's story from the first and second movie have happened, underworld, they even had a crossover in which Hades revived Jafar to fight Aladdin for a new round and he jsut go beaten out.)

Mr. Peabody did have a Disney Death in DreamWorks Animation's Mr. Peabody and Sherman (2014) where he is believed to have died with the Trojan horse when it crashed and was destroyed but was later revealed to have survived.

I think Mulan is the deadliest movie,but it could be still Lion King. I actually really thought the Lion King was the deadliest,because of Scar killing Mufasa ,the stillion animals dead in "King Scar's"scene,and Scar being eaten by the hyena.

For those who are interested in the historical Hua Mulan, she was indeed a woman who took up his father’s place and hid her identity as a female to campaign against the once rival of the Wuhuan and Wuheng tribes. The Hun, I can only imagine, were referring to the Xiongnu that was defeated by Han Wuxi during the Han Dynasty that caused one of the downfall to the Roman Empire. Why did she took up her father’s place? First, the Wei Dynasty was founded by the Xianbei tribe that ultimately conquered Northern China during the Wu Hu Luan Hua, the Five Nomadic Tribes Invasion, meaning, Hua Mulan was Turk and not Han(Chinese). Second, due to the fail conquest of taking the South of China beyond the Yangtze River, the weaken of the Wei military caused the need for conscription when the failed Grassland tribes did try to invade, and much of the conscripts were criminals, so you can understand why Mulan had to hide her identity as a woman. Now throughout all of China, there were no laws prohibiting women to join up the ranks, in fact many times there were records of an entire armies made of women, but unfortunately for our filial piety Mulan here, she was not so lucky. Not only she had to hide her identity to fight in wars, she was also fighting for a lost cause, as the Norther & Southern Dynasties Era of China was about to head into China’s Darkest Age of 160 years of endless conflict. But hey, at least you get to hear about the legendary Hua Mulan who was actually just a normal solider holding a Ji polearm while fighting on horseback against the Xianbai’s old friends back in the grasslands.
