You didn't show how the Air Raid spreads out the D and uses quick reads and quick passes so the WR's can get yac. YAC is a big part of the AIR RAID it's not bombs away on every play. Don't forget they had to put it in Murry's contract about studying the play book.

UCLA brought in a defensive coordinator from the Ravens. They stifled this offense by attacking the line of scrimmage. Caleb Williams and USC struggled against this attacking defense. Washington ran a spread style of offense as well and Michigan pummeled Penix. Michigan's defensive coordinator also came from the Ravens and they attacked the line of scrimmage and hit the quarterback. Jim Harbaugh was just hired with the Chargers. He is bringing his defensive coordinator and that Ravens style of defense. It is going to be interesting to see how we attack that defense. They will crowd the line of scrimmage against this offense and pound the QB. The Raiders need a mobile quarterback.

The Air Raid system is very similar to the Run and Shoot. Sanjit breaks down the o-line well here. The primary difference is the AR likes to go no huddle, two minute drill style. We have four WRs that fit this scheme perfectly, IMO. We have the X, Z, Y and Flanker covered. The Jim Kelley K-Gun offense was a type of early Air Raid scheme that made more use of the tight end. There’s a saying in RnS/AR systems that the RB is going to gain a lot of yards. Not from a lot of attempts, but from yards per run. Kingsbury’s Air Raid focuses a lot on the running game. Josh Jacobs will literally feast in this system. Just watch. Where many Air Raid coaches set up the run by passing, Kingsbury sets up the vertical game by running, which is what coach AP wants. One other thing to watch for is the offense’s time of possession. Usually these offenses score quickly. That puts a lot of pressure on the defense, because they end up staying on the field for long periods of time. This was a huge problem for the 1993 Houston Oilers who ran a pure Run and Shoot. That led to the infamous fight between Kevin Gilbride and Buddy Ryan. We don’t want that problem happening here. Luckily we have a young defense. But Patrick Graham is going to have to rotate players more. If anyone wants to see a great breakdown of the Air Raid and Run and Shoot, there’s a video on KZread called “Which offense is better? Air Raid vs Run and Shoot. Also, watch the USFL Gamblers from the 80s, the Houston Cougars from the late ‘80s, and the Houston Oilers from the late 80s/ early 90s. They all ran the same system. The Buffalo Bills from their Super Bowl years with the K-gun. Then the Crabtree-era Texas Tech Red Raiders, then the Kingsbury Texas Tech and Cardinals teams. Enjoy! (Btw, if the defense plays way off the ball like Sanjit suggests, you give the ball or pass the ball to Josh Jacobs and he will run for daylight, no stopping him - watch Gary Brown with the ‘93 Houston Oilers to see this in action). Bo Nix could definitely run this offense well. Remember that the Chiefs moved up to #10 to draft Mahomes. Don’t be surprised if we move up a few positions to grab our Air Raid QB. Same exact situation as the Chiefs. We do need to revamp the o-line like Sanjit said.

I beg of everyone to watch the game between the KC Chief and the Arizona Cardinals at the beginning of the 2022 season. KC put speed in the game and often went with a single linebacker and totally disrupted this offense. I hope Kingsbury has evolved to some multiple-tightend sets as well as six-offensive-linemen sets. it is critical to run the ball to eat up the clock as well as limit the possessions of the opponent. not a fan of this offense. however, as a raider fan i hope it works.

Got a stat and quote for everyone. This should excite Raider fans. Air Raid/Run and Shoot QBs put up a lot of passing yards. The record for most yards thrown in a single game by a pro QB is held by: 1st place - Jim Kelly - 574 yards - 1984 with the USFL Houston Gamblers in a Run and Shoot offense. 4th place - Warren Moon - 527 yards - 1990 with the Houston Oilers in a Run and Shoot offense. 12th place - Derek Carr - 516 yards - 2016 with the Oakland Raiders in a West Coast variant offense. True story about the 2016 Derek Carr game vs the Bucs. John Jenkins, the pioneering Run and Shoot OC for the ‘85 Gamblers and the ‘89-‘90 UofH Cougars was watching the Raiders vs Bucs game in 2016. Jenkins thought Carr had a chance to break Kelly’s 574 yard passing record. During the 4th quarter Jenkins sent a text to Jim Kelly that read, “Yo, gunslinger, I was a little leery of Carr breaking our record” Pretty cool.

That offensive line is going to be working real hard I hope we get a couple extra guys even from what you explained they were still having problems and they're going to have to have a good running back to be able to handle ball off once in a while and what you're explaining from what I'm understanding here is basically going to be a read offense kind of with the Niners have

We need our OL to be good so a lot of those plays become successful and after watching this video, we will definitely need a mobile qb. Fields will fit perfect for Kingsbury's office, and you also mentioned Bo Nix, but I hope that they push for Fields. But Raiders have shown interest on K. Cousins, which makes it interesting.

I really was hoping that CoachPrime was going to get Kingsbury the things he could’ve did with Shedeur wow that would’ve been scary.

Ah man getting my hopes up again. TBH if we nail the draft and FA we will be a force to be reckoned with.

I wasn’t sure about grabbing Fields but with Kliff on board it’s a great option for us. He would have a bigger, faster, tougher Kyler Murray at his disposal. In another video Sanjit said DJ Moore wasn’t a #1 WR which is not true, he is a #1 and had his best games when Fields was on the field. For me it’s a good indicator that he is going to use and look for his best WR which is what Adams would be.

Great content.. Watching this makes me think over our strategy in FA and draft all over again. First we have to identify if we trade for Fields or if we draft our guy. The way you describe the system. Jj mcCarthy is such a great fit! Not gonna lie. Fields would also be great. 1-2-3 quick reads or move quickly. Defenses would also have to be careful of Fields runs. That’s the worst nightmare for any DC in the NFL. 1st: beef up the Oline. I’d definitely trade back in the draft and get multiple 2nd round picks possible for 13. or late first and a 2nd or 3rd? I’d try and trade Renfrow and i’d try to sell AOC high. Maybe we get a 3-4 round? - I’d draft Jackson Powers (late 1st) - I’d draft Jaheim Bell (4th) In FA i’d be resigning Eluemunor and play him at RG do you believe Becton could play RT? I do and i’d try him on a proof it deal - WR we need players that can run routes and make plays. Renfrow is gone. He can’t run deep I’m signing C. Ridley TE: - Sign Fant. He will thrive in that system Summary for our offense additions QB: Fields RT: Becton RG: Eluemunor C: Jackson Powers WR: Ridley or Hardman TE: Fant

Love the air raid system. Only thing I hate is that some QB’s get used to going for the big chunk plays. Keeping your eyes downfield is great, but can also be your weakness when defenses adjust taking away those deep routes. But I’m very hopeful and excited to see what he can do with the talent on our offense.

This feels like tampering. I would love for the Raiders to have had this kind of offense... I felt and still do that Kingsbury was tampered with in Arizona whose team that year went 10-0 and all of a sudden collapse in similar fashion as the Eagles this year and for no apparent reason. I don't understand why the Raiders losing out on Kingsbury didn't seek Bienemy as OC...

Air Raid offense is hard on your own teams defense. Doesn’t chew up the clock. Opposing defenses in NFL will eat this up.

i think the biggest mistake a lot of people are making is the the Air-Raid is predicated on a mobile QB....it's not, i really think that Kliff can do wonders for AOC and if we draft someone like Pratt out of Tulane for competition we should be good, if we really needed a mobile QB then we could trade for Cleveland's DTR....We need to revamp the o-line and should invest our picks there.

The major problem with the Air Raid being implemented to our offense is that the front 5 have to block. Our front 5 cannot block the defensive front 4. The Qb needs a pocket to throw deep and our line never creates a pocket. I like the concept but until this o-line is all to block, this offense will fail. If our line improves it can work.

Crazy how it's not going to happen anymore.. He withdrew from the OC raiders position. 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

He's going to make AOC look like an MVP when you have players open all day you don't need to do anything but manage and if penix falls to us let him sit a year unless he beats AOC out. RAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDERSSS

Anything is better than a Shanarat system. Air Raid and RPO are actually two different things - and now we have both. 4 verts, a mesh and a stick... almost every read is based off these 3 formations. Many times there's only 6 men in the box. Like I said - WE'RE GONNA FEAST.
