Film of Kenmore Highland Games 2018 with bagpipes, dancing and heavy events in Perthshire, Scotland

Film showing the 2018 Kenmore Highland Games held on 4th July by Loch Tay in Perthshire, Scotland. Kenmore Games are an evening games held on the first Wednesday in July each year, organised voluntarily by The Kenmore & District Sports Association.
These friendly traditional games include highland dancing, pipe band displays by the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band, led by Drum Major Kenny Forbes, childrens & adult races plus heavy events including tossing the caber, hammer throw and shot put. There is one event for the heavy weights that is unique to Kenmore - Throwing the Tirinie Stone - an almost spherical stone found on Tirinie Farm, Kenmore, which weights 101 lbs. In 2018 only one team attended for the Tug o' War (Tug-of-war) competition, Strathardle, so bravely a group of American tourists on a tour of Scotland came together on Independence day and formed a team to take on the challenge.

I am in love. Absolutely and helplessly. With Scotland and it's marvelous culture. It was a very strange experience to learn about it today.. I am Russian, red-haired, I am a tall and quite fit woman. I always loved tartan pattern, I have a wonderful dress with it. Haggis? I got super obsessive cooking and eating "tripe" here, in Argentina. I would love to try haggis one day! I also enjoy listening to modern Scottish rock bands. I was in shock when I found out that formers of AC/DC were Scottish. I've been always told that it's an "Australian" thing. As it was something "magical" and "exotic". I love AC/DC, and for me it's Scottish. It's absolutely brilliant and BADASS! Also, a couple of months ago, I had to make a heavy decision in my life, to change my family name. I am Rona. I chose it because it means "might" and "song", and it's of Scottish origin. I went to read about Scotland. And I didn't know before that there was this incredible and beautiful Scottish part of me. I feel related and I feel much closer to Scottish people and their culture. I dream to see these events one day with my own eyes. Thank you very much for sharing this video, it was quite life-changing for me! ❤

I enjoyed this a lot but I got a big kick and had to smile around the 5:30 mark when the wee dancers came out. I was calling my wife to come and see the 2 foot tall dancers and I told her that they're the world famous Highland Cupcakes. They were all very nice, beautiful to see the kids participating. I was the kind of kid that ran everywhere and I would have been right in amongst the Jr. Harriers that ran the course immediately after the Cupcakes danced. I remember going to the games and fairs as a boy from Glasgow.
