Sometimes, it's good to explore the little towns and islands of a country rather than just visiting its big cities. You get to discover more about the country's charm when roaming around places that are away from where most tourists go.
In the Brittany region of northwest France, I was lucky to visit the town called Vannes as well as the island Île-aux-Moines . The trip was short but it was worth it.
