Be watching Marcelito Pomoy this Sat. (Aug. 6) here in Montreal, Canada then I can compare his and Marcelito's voice. Am proud of my kababayans for they represent my country Philippines.

Jaya performed at my University around 2010-2011 (UST) and I was dumbfounded that she belts extremely great. (There were multiple guest singers back then a major event in UST) She was like any other famous belter. I was screaming at top of my lungs cheering like crazy because I didnt know Jaya can do that.

doing Duble Kara performance is very common in the Philippines especially during late 80s to 90s.. and there still some performers doing it and some contest are still held at this times..

He's found his dual vocal range in this song. So amazing! So talented! I hope this guy will giving a chance of international exposure for his talent. Its a Jaya-Janno Gibbs song. Proud Filipino. 👍👍💪💪🇵🇭

Janno and Ogie were like tandem twin singers. They even had the same love interest back in those days, Manilyn Reynes.

That's what we call Doble Kara in singing. If you sing this way, you'll have to look half man and half woman to portray as if they are singing in a duet but you'll be doing it by yourself hahaha. There are lot of Filipinos that can do it mostly in province..not sure why hahaha.

Doble Kara contests were prevalent in the 90’s to early 2000’s (?), if I remember right - from the smallest villages to National Level so it’s pretty common, esp before. Now, probably in villages, towns, city level. Most do it for fun so it’s no big deal (though ofc an 👌 skill).

jaya didn’t start her singing career in the philippines. im not sure if she was born in her famous comedienne/performer mum elizabeth ramsey’s birthplace but for sure she didn’t grow up there. before she decided to pursue singing in the philippines, she has already done a music video in the u.s. jaya was never girly pitchy with her singing voice but because that guy doing dual voices has to sound like a girl on the other end, he will have a difficulty giving justice to jaya’s deep voice that should still sound like female singing. that said, the dual singer had to come up with his own female singing voice. check out “if you leave me now” by jaya. it’s on utube. janno & ogie were the “small brothers” (named after “soul brothers”). the two used to do tandem shows & tv hostings. janno & regine velazques were rumored to have romantic affairs before the songbird & her singer/composer hubby got together after ogie’s divorce with the ex ms universe australia 1994 michelle van eimeren with whom he has two daughters with.

There is a contest before in a noon time show in the Philippines DOBLE KARA SINGING CONTEST were it is very popular that time I think it 90's
