FILIPINO MOUNTAIN HOME BLESSING - Birthday Party In Kalinga (Philippines Vlog)
I WAS INVITED TO A FILIPINO HOME BLESSING IN KALINGA, AND BIRTHDAY PARTY OF A PANCIT BUSINESS!
Heading back up into the mountains, I found myself back in Lubuagan, Kalinga. This is a historic and very local place. Most people will simply pass through this town, but I was lucky to find a really cool mountain home to stay in. Speaking of home... one down the road was having a blessing, and I was invited to join! It was so great connecting more with locals, and being able to experience a Filipino blessing and party here in Lubuagan.
I am so happy to be back in the mountains of Kalinga, and look forward to visiting old friends here...
A Filipino mountain home blessing, and a birthday party... Another awesome day on the road in the Philippines!
Power On!

Many thanks Kulas for showing us the beauty of Philippines and its people and culture. May God always protect you in your daily travels..mabuhay!
Liyawan(?). There are similar household spirits in Visayan folklore also described as small spirit beings, normally invisible, who steal a bit of rice or "borrow" things every now and then. My mom calls them the "buotan" ("the kind ones"). Whenever something is misplaced, she just says the "buotan" borrowed them for a bit. They are described as being mischievous (child-like even), drawn to humans, and generally helpful. When treated well, they bring good fortune to their "host" families. Though when angered they can cause "buyag" (mysterious illnesses or bad luck). Very young children and animals can see them, but adults can not. In Spanish times, they were syncretized with the Spanish "duende" (dwarves/gnomes). And weirdly enough, they're quite similar to the brownies of European folklore. They're quite similar to the engkanto/diwata (and are probably the same "kind" of spirits), but differ in that they are more curious about humans, to the point of choosing to live near humans.
Surprisingly beautiful place. Thanks and shalom.
Go go more power , Kulas. I hope you the best of everything about your activities in the Philippines.
It’s just for fun ,coz Filipinos are very humorous people. Green jokes is just natural.😘😘😘😃😃😃🇯🇵🇵🇭

Kudos! Stay healthy Kyle.
Welcome to my home town kulas enjoy . Thank you for visiting ❤️.
the music is very nostalgic
What an amazing place to make a stop! Looks like Pines Inn could be a future Fighter Boys reunion spot with that secret room big enough to house all of you. Plus, that family at the panciteria was so welcoming. I would love to go visit with them the way you did. The food looked delicious, and I finally learned that what you call binignit in Mindanao is the ginataan that I'm familiar with back in Hawaii - lami! Can't believe I have way more white hairs than Lola and she's quite a bit older than I am. She is definitely still going strong. Good for her. Keep powering on, Lola!
Ride safe Kulas God bless you
🤩🤩🤩

Nice ride sir.enjoy

Such lovely and hospitable people. I like how you have a very-loose itinerary and just go with the flow. What an incredible time you are having out there. And OMG, I do remember that vlog you did where you met such a great guy and I think you gave him your Canada top. If this is the same guy, that is fantastic, I look forward to you guys meeting up again :)
