I can understand that some foreigners may find this line ''Ordinary day in the Philippines' referring to this event a bit arrogant but it is what it is. Not everyone can belt like Katrina, Mori or Jona but we can carry a tune. It is ordinary in a sense that when you see a gathering here or an event, you'll witness this eventually. 90% or maybe more has Karaoke, that's how we love to sing. Not everyone can sing and some are out of tune but they don't care hahaha. They will sing their hearts out :)

Like here in our village, every weekends our neighbors do karaoke just to relax from a tiring and stressful weekdays. It's also their family's way to gather and enjoy. Haha.. When pandemic wasn't still exists and gatherings or celebrations were still allowed I think most village here in the Philippines during Fiestas do have Straight 10-1 Days Singing Contest. The Championship Day would be on the Fiest Day. That is not being an arrogant, we're just saying the truth. Even in different Schools and Universites here do always have singing contests. I also sing everytime I get bored. I just watch here in youtube karaoke.

Obviously that group of people in the vid have talent in singing. It's not like everyone can sing in the Philippines, we still have those that are out of tune and those that are just 'ok'. If you see people doing karaoke in the Philippines, most probably 2-3 out 10 of them are great singers.

Actually, most Filipinos CAN carry a tune. That's why we're harsh critics when it comes to singing. It just comes with the territory that Great Singers from the Philippines can COMPETE in the World...and WIN.

This is the Reason why many Filipinos find it hard to win in philippine singing contest.. because voices like this are seem normal already...so for you to win in contest you have to be more extra ordinary than this. And thats also why our famous pilipino singers,their voices are at the next level. Once they are famous singer from Philippines,.you know its one of the best singers.

I love my kababayans... makes us enjoy life a bit more. We can be something or someone, whenever we hold that mic. It gives us joy, takes away the hardship of a long days work or a troubled situation in life, and sharing not only the mic but the same struggles and the same mindset from your friends, its a surreal feeling... thats how we roll here in the Philippines.

I had foreign bosses who stayed in the Philippines for work and one night, they invited us over for a Karaoke night on a Friday night and there were 18 of us Pinoys who went with them. To be fair, one of our 5 bosses has a good voice. But when they heard the 18 of us sing, they were all amazed coz all of us really can carry a tune. None of us is out of tune. And our foreign bosses wondered what do Filipinos do why does it seem like singing is normal for us all? Hahaha!

Guys just loved it , your attitude and passion towards the song … amazing!

I love love love our culture . Filipinos are the most positive , most patient , most vibrant , funny, content, humble , strong minded , resilient people in the world . For that I’m sooooo proud to be Filipino.
