I can't believe how expensive the rent is in BGC. it's like NYC prices. Renting for that much money a month is like throwing money away. It's better to own one and earn equity.

Hello Rocio! Im a follower. Just want to say I worked as a property consultant before in the Philipppines and as far as I know there are properties for sale in BGC. You dont "rent to own" it. You offer to buy the property from the developers or from previous owners. If you dont have the upfront cash then you loan from the bank and you pay monthly mortgage which is more or less equivalent to your budget in renting the properties mentioned. Your husband if not yet dual citizen can apply for citizenship so the transactions are faster and easier. 😊

From my understanding, if we wanted to purchase a condo in a building, it would be a long process. Because not only is there a waiting list for these condos but owners of the building get first choice. Then if none of the owners of that building want to purchase that unit (highly unlikely because someone will purchase it) then it goes to the waiting list. THEN, the board of that building has to approve the person wanting to purchase 🥵

When I compare condos, I noticed that a small condo was only worth it IF it has a beautiful view. I tend to put seats facing the view and it makes the room very spacious. I hope to see you around after I move to BGC. My family is currently in the U.S. to be near my son's college.

You can find spacious condo but much cheaper outside BGC, why don't you scout along Macapagal Avenue near MOA, look also along Roxas blvrd back side of Palacio de Memoria or Condominium along Roxas Blvrd Paranaque and Pasay too, price range less than 100k per month.

Thank you my friend! Actually a couple condo units that are lower between 20 and 30 floor are more extensive. Same sqm and obstructed views. But I think maybe it’s because of the added furnishings or interior design of the space. We’re learning so much too🙈🤭

I like PPT still with all that view. Second for me is the west gallery of bonifacio high street south but kinda expensive for the place. and the view of the golf course with the high rises on the left in this video is so relaxing. it's like the cities in the US but this one you see the beautiful view of the mountain from the background. I am so happy that you decided to go to the Philippines for permanent residency. I notice that you still do not have enough subscribers, why not travel to India and stay there for maybe 1 month. Every vlogger who visited India had a leap of subscribers. Come back to the Philippines for 2 weeks and then go back to India until your subscribers go up to 100, 000 and more. Spent time between India and Philippines because these are the 2 countries that seem to have the most viewers on you-tube. Hoping for your success and then residency in the Philippines with a side business for retirement in the future like a rental property in the Philippines. Good luck on your endeavors.

I agree with that suggestion. We don’t know your financial status the 5K USD might be a small change for you guys but still that small change will add up at the end of the year. Even by US standard that rent price is really high where in the US you can still find rentals for less than 2K USD. Just my two cent. Throwing that much in rental is setting up yourself in financial danger at the end of the month. Most of the time the suggestion for housing cost should just be limited to 25% of your monthly income. Paying 250K for rental means you have to have at least 1 million pesos a month coming in for your income.

LOL. For 50K, you're talking non-central places like Greenwoods in Pasig or villages in Paranaque or Las Pinas already. That's like telling someone shopping for a luxury SUV that they can buy a Mitsubishi Adventure for much less!

You should consider asking what the other tenants usually pay for electricity on a monthly basis. A lot of foreigners often get shocked at the prices. Like if you’ll be gone some weeks how much will you end up paying (esp w regards to common areas). At those prices, some will consider getting rent to own places but if you can afford it…go, go, go! Those are wonderful units! Knox’s voice 😮 omg they grow so fast 😊😊😊

Have you seen prices at Dasma Village and Forbes Park? They are on another level. You can get great condo's in BGC for 50-75M. You would need 4x that to buy a house in a secure village, with a less central and non-walkable location.

Can't argue w the size of PPT. But, for me, the location of the 2 Galleries' are just so much better, especially if you like walking. Just take the elevator downstairs and you've got lots of choices of coffee shops etc.. To me, that's the main advantage of BGC - its pretty much the most walkable place in Metro Manila. PPT is good if you're the type who likes driving or if you have a driver so you don't have to waste time parking if just running to High Street. It looks like you're really sold on the PPT view of the golf course and the Makati skyline, but, just take note, during summer months, west facing units with those kinds of windows can get really hot. And I mean, really hot. I know you sort of balked at the 290K at PPT, but if you're willing to pay at around the 300K-350K range, try to see if your broker can find a Skycove Aqua unit at East Gallery Place. Its got its own pool and deck. Its like having condo amenities in a central location, but with the feel of a house with a small yard. Also, any reason why you didn't look at The Suites at One BHS? Don't sleep on One Serendra, too. A lot of the units are old, but you can still get nice renovated ones at the East and West Tower. If you do look at units there, make sure the broker takes you around the gardens. That's really the main selling point of Serendra.

We’re there almost everyday:) But didn’t think about West facing windows. Hmmm. These windows are big and I can see how that grand room might get super hot. Our realtor told us about the Skycove unit but we tapped out at a lower price. 300k is way over what we want to spend. Plus the view is a must for us. The suites doesn’t have anything available. We need to move into a condo by 10/1 (that’s when our temporary condo lease ends). Oh the unit we saw at One Serendra was facing Market Market! We want a view of BGC. We’ve got lots of thinking to do and quickly.lol😂

Sept. 28th 8 PM Pacific Time - husband speaking age 80 - I feel looking at the condo's ( your home ) is like looking at a new home in the U.S. You are going to buy something but which one ? For Me - the 52nd floor even if they gave it to me I would not take it. With out stoping the elevator, how long is the trip up or down then figure a couple other folks who may buzz first. How often will the elevator go back to the bottom before it gets to the top ? Next the PPTS 31st floor - those condo's are as big as our house in Wash. State - except we have a 12k sq ft. lot, 16 plus feet between homes and green belt in back but a view of Puget Sound and lots of trees around us. One last comment, are you looking for a view or a home ? If you can afford the view by all means take it, you want to be happy and not wish you had taken the one you really liked. Can't wait to see what you got. Maybe my wife and I can visit some day. My wife's brother lives in Makati. He used to be VP of Norkis Trading when I first met him in 1979. 😀

Hello. #momduty. Your daughter should get Yorkshire Terrier, also known as a Yorkie. It is a playful, energetic, curious and if trained correctly, Yorkie is very child-friendly.

Do you guys really need that big space? I know you guys are for California and living in a big space before but you are here now in the Philippines especially in metro manila or BGC to be specific. My suggestion is get an lower rent around 100-150k pesos, of course you’ll sacrifice the space and the premium location but with the savings you can go out and travel more. In the long term maybe you need a smaller space because you guys are always out and about. But still you guys have the final decision and it’s your money. 😊

My advice to you friend .if you have 5 or 6 m you better buy instead always renting condo.there are lot of subdivision house and lot for sale like in bulacan,cavite this place are near to metro manila.

Yeah I definitely see us moving to a house. Just not this year. I want to take more time to visit the outskirts and see which neighborhood would suit us. The thought of having a house makes me so happy tho!😀

Check out Ayala Alabang village also where the upper class reside, you can rent a 3 bedroom house for around 150k+

We actually did visit Alabang last year but just to visit a friend. We didn’t go house hunting. It’s a BEAUTIFUL community though, even has schools! I was so impressed. We just love BGC so much and it’s very far from BGC. Maybe when we’re ready for a quieter life away from the city🙌

2:58 You could put 20% down payment and have that as your mortgage payment on a $1M loan amount. They you guys would own the property and enjoy the equity gains down the road.

Try also Alabang it is cheaper and also as nice as BGC or Ortigas it has also that kind of view along the white plains area.

We did visit Alabang and loved the community there. Beautiful homes. But it’s way too far from BGC. And right now our main focus is BGC.

@@MomDuty McKinley is developing a residential area i don't know if it cheaper Mike and Nelly has a condo there it has also a nice view of manila polo club.

I can see resemblance between Knox and Marcus from HORI7ON (all filipino global group), in terms of their facial features and also their voice ( i guess dahil parehas silang nagbibinata na). And yeah, they’re both smart and talented! And yeah I am a fan of Knox now. ❤

Im was wondering, will the Lockwoods also rent a condo in bgc? Maybe the condos that uve seen will be useful for them. I hope u get the unobstructed view with more furnitures so at least u dont have to spend that much on furnitures and appliances. The wooden porcelain or ceramic tiles that u saw is very very easy to clean and very durable so almost no maintenance. 👍 ill wait for the next episode!! Woohhooo!! Ohh and christmas decors are usually in malls.

Detached houses in e.g. Dasma Village cost significantly more, and in a lot of cases, are much older. And you can't really walk to High Street, you'd need to drive all the time.

It could be cheaper outside bgc, but bgc is a good area to live. So you would rent first, then maybe buy in the future?

We just love BGC as you can tell🤪lol. But you are right. I think we’d lease first just to settle down for a bit while we find more of a permanent home to purchase. That’s definitely a thought.

I myself would prefer a view as well if possible 360 on the 20th floor and above if going that much money.

It sure is! I always tell my family that. Home is not a physical thing, it’s wherever we are together. We have definitely learned that from traveling the world for 4 years. But so excited to have our safe place to create memories in.

I hope you finish up with a video of what you actually rented and for how much. IF you pay 6 months in advance, are you worried about future repairs being done on time? Normally once a landlord receives their money in the PH, they will be slow to answer or repair and future problems. PPT has the highest SF of any condo for the price due to its age. Today 3 bedroom condos being built in BGC will be less than 1/2 of SF of PPT. I guess it all comes down to your preferred location. Woodland Hills, California is beautiful, but you have to be a multi millionaire to buy a home in that area today. Also, taxes are astronomical in LA county and are only going to continue to climb.

That’s interesting to think about. PPT is the only building we’ve come across that needs 6 months advance. I didn’t think about the slowness of any future repair. I know the condo has its own engineering Dept there. I’m learning that in all contracts here, you can make any requests that need to be taken care of before move in date. Oh and we haven’t found our condo yet. Will post a vlog on it once we sign a contract🤞

Wow❤. But expensive for me. My budget is $1000.😅

I wish they had homes in BGC. That would be the best! Although the condo prices are expensive here, they’re more affordable than US prices.

How long do you have to finance the condo for?

We’ll we haven’t decided how long we want to live here for. I’d love to try it out for a couple of years. But some owners will only rent out for 1 year at a time in BGC (which I found very interesting).

spend your money wisely here in the Philippines it is a big deal, 500k a month for a condo unit is truly nuts

@@MomDuty if your budget is around that kind of huge amount if i were you i will look to any exclusive subdivisions around the Metro not only in BGC in particular. I know there's a lots to choose from to any of those well known realty Company in the country. select the best

Make sure that association fees, you don't get charged for electricity when your out of town, you end up paying for other unit's electricity, it happened to Mergin the vlogger, talk to him he end up paying too much electricity even when he was out of town
