I was there 4 days ago and just the same I brought 4 pineapples for 10 fiji dollars and got them to remove the heads .I thought they were 10 each so got a very pleasant surprise, while in fiji I like to help the local people as a lot of the money in hotels restaurants and resorts goes to the overseas investors and the local people and the government miss out .Don't give money to the begging, they have there village to look after them and you are only supporting a drug or alcohol addiction, even if they are missing a leg they have a place
