FIJI: Guard changing at Government House (State House) in SUVA
State House (or, Government House), City of Suva, Fiji, Pacific Ocean - guard change at the Presidential Residence (Government House or State House) in Suva in Fiji. Let's go and witness the Changing of the Guard, which is a parade representing the changing of the guards posted at the Government House (or, State House), the official residence of the President in the capital of Fiji, the city of SUVA. The old guard and new guard salute each other and the national anthem is played during the guard changing at the Presidential Residence (Government House).
Changing of the guard at Government House takes place in Suva on Saturday. The march is a spectacle to watch as soldiers and the military band marched from the Suva Flea market to Government House. The Guard March/ Changing of the Guard is a unique tradition and marked the handover of security at the President’s official residence from the Fiji Police to the Republic of Fiji Military Forces. The guard unit usually marches through the city to Government House accompanied by the Army Band.
Suva is the capital of the South Pacific island nation of Fiji. It's a city of broad avenues, lush parks and grand British colonial buildings, such as the Suva City Library. Suva's colorful, lively Municipal Market offers a range of local fruit and vegetables. Fiji Museum, set within the Victorian-era Thurston Gardens, contains examples of traditional canoes, war clubs and tattooing tools.

I agree... Wonderful place with special people!! We love FIJI!!
Lovely video of the Changing of the Guards at the Presidential Palace - the official residence of the President located in the city of SUVA, capital of the FIJI ISLANDS. The old guard and new guard salute each other and the national anthem is played during the ceremony. Vic. I am now out of the hospital and am resting at home. I am going to have to take it easy while I recover from the procedure. I will not be able to comment as much and as often as I previously did. My wrist and my arm is very sore and swollen from the anesthetic and it is going to take awhile until I return to my precious strength. The surgeon gave me very good news following the surgery.. I am now 100% CANCER FREE and do not have any colon cancer.

Love your videos Vic!! I'm a subscriber. :-) I've been to Fiji four time and to Suva only once. I did have the opportunity to take a photograph with the very same guard (in the last part of the video)! Love the Fijian people and the land of Fiji.

Thank you for viewing my videos!!
I'm such a sucker about ceremonial pomp and sercumstance as it always sends a warm shiver up my spine at seeing ordinary people like you and me dressing up in antiquated national costume and thereby being briefly elavated to proud abassador of their beloved country. Don't tell anyone about it please as I like to appear sophisticated and above all that ;-)
