The LED tells you what kind of audio file is playing, not the output selection.

A piece of advice, I use it with my HD600 300 ohms and works wonderfully with Android if you use the FiiO music player that properly controls it. Believe me, the difference is huge.

are there alternatives other than using lighting usb camera adapter for iPhone ? what if i use lighting splitter to charge the phone and using lighting to usb c to connect it to the K3 ? sorry for the long question, cheers !

I have a Sony Nw-a100 Series mp3 player and trying to connect with the K3 but it's not turning on nor my system is identifying it. I even charged it, could u plz give me sum pointers

This is my 1st DAC. I have a soundbar (with HDMI out/in), USB, Aux e Toslink. If I plug the K3 into the bar via toslink will the chip in the Soundbar affect the sound with a conversion? If I want to have the best sound possible (given the soundbar can handle up to 48kHz files, via USB?) will I have to go via RCA(from the FiiO) to an Aux cable into the soundbar? In that case is the FiiO the only thing converting from digital to analog? Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend that you use it with a sound bar.

Would suggest this or the FX X6 for mostly desktop use, since you said it’s no ideal for the iPhone? Or another DAC\amp? I ordered the 58X and currently have maudi AV30 speakers. I want to easily switch between the 2 outputs. Great videos keep it up.

Any imbalance issues with low impedance headphones that require low volumes? (I remember that being an issue for the old E10k)

No, channel balance is perfect. The K3 is great for sensitive IEM's. I know the Tin T2 aren't particularly sensitive but I don't listen very loud and haven't heard any balance issues at any volume.

Have you tried not plugging the PortaPros in all the way? That plug is T.R.R.S, i.e “tip, ring, ring, sleeve”. The ground is usually the third band down from the top and the last band is for the microphone, so not pushing it in that last click sometimes works.

Ive never had problems plugging a trrs into the trs headphone in of a dac or computer tho

Thinking to buy the k3, my ideia is to listening directly from my s10 + k3 + hd58x jubilee. What vou think about that? And while working use on a notebook.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I'd recommend a balanced cable (2.5mm TRRS) for your 58X too while you're at it.

No, it only works with the headphone output.

LG G6 has 3.1, transfer data version will this work theoritically for most smart phones with Type C? (Just wondering if it will work on my Pocophone because that is a much more ideal solution for me than the Q1 MKII)

Good question! I would like to know as well. Just bought the K3 and and it didn't work out of the box with my Galaxy s8, so not sure if it requires DP or not. So far a bit of a bummer for me...

I recently got a k3 and some dt 770 pro headphones to use at my desk and have been trying to find a way to connect this to my hauwei mate 20 pro without the need for an otg adapter. Thanks for confirming my hunch that all usb c to usb c cables are otg.

Do you have the 250 ohms version of the Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro? If so, is the K3 powerful enough? I wanna get the DT 990 pro, but I don't know if the unbalanced port of the K3 provides enough power.

@@sanderr2002 year they are 250. I use then without the gain boost at between 1/2 and 3/4 volume. They can push them to just on the verge of unbearable/painful at full. They are my first good headphones and amp so I don't have anything to really compare them to except in ear cheep phone headphones, which they are definitely louder than.

does it kill the phone baterie??

Can you use 2 outputs at the same time? I.e. I use optical to power speakers, and the 3.5mm Line out for a subwoofer?

Im using k3 to drive my iem tin auduo t2 i adjust volume to around 2/3 o'clock on low gain is it normal?? I think the power of k3 is bit lower than my old e10k or i got defect unit??

Cloud flight. More convenient and closed back. I prefer to play competitive games with closed headphones.

@@Adirxcore I bought apogee groove + hd650 . It is really improve the sound quality of m50x but price is twice from k3 . In my opinion and read a lot of review , k3 balance output is good and powerful but 3.5 mm out put is poor . I send e mail to fiio and they said to me 3.5mm out put just good until 80 ohm headphone . m50x is good enough with e10k or similar dac/amp .

Hows Monks? Are they much better than iphone xs stock earphones?

I knew it. The Takstar Pro 82 is balanced.

So I bought an USB-C to USB-C (3.1) cable and when I connect it (the DAC) to my OnePlus 7 Pro, the phone registers it as an audio device and it doesn't work. Do you have any idea if some Android phones need to enable any specific setting for this to work?

@moth that depends on the phone you have. If your phone has a USB-C charging port, and is powerful enough, you should be good to go

I picked up one of these, I also have a SMSL M2, The M2 is much better quality, And sound.

If you want to use it mainly with your phone get the Q1 MKII. If you want to use it mainly with your desktop or laptop get the K3

@@liam_7017 The K3 is has no battery and only has a usb input plus it's a little bit thicker than the Q1 MKII. The Q1 MKII on the other hand has a built-in battery, works more reliably and safely with phones (it's Apple MFi certified btw) and has a 3.5mm input for use with an MP3 player so it makes more sense as a pocketable device

2.0 only runs with Windows based PCs.

That means no native DSD support :( Confirmed with oneplus 6 even though K3 turns green but only hear loud white noise.

No since you need to download a driver that's compatible only with pc

You need to research the 1.0-2.0 switch. It doesn't do what you seem to think it does. Just saying.
