Figure skaters personal experience with Pic Skates. How it feels to go from ice to pavement!

Hello everyone! I know a lot of you are trying in-line skating recently with rinks being closed on and off again. I wanted to share what I’ve learned from trying to Pic Skates.
I started Pic skating in April of this year and have come a long way since I started. This video is to show what I’ve learn about equipment, surfaces and individual elements. This isn’t a teaching video. If there is something you want a teaching video on let me know. :)
Intro about me: 0:00-1:55
Equipment differences and what I use: 1:56-9:15
Surfaces how it feels: 9:16-13:52
Spins on blades and wheels videos: 13:53-15:42
Jumps on blades and wheels videos: 15:43-17:18
Differences that I like about each: 17:18-end
Sorry this video is so long! I had a lot to say. lol
Tell me about your journey!

Thank you! I found your video helpful. I started skating on regular in-line skates, transitioned to ice-skating, and now I am considering put off ice skates like yours. It’s crazy how many pairs of skates I have now. It’s getting out of control. 😮 I loved your Couples dance with a chair. That’s a classic! 😂

What do you think about Roll Line Linea? I bought a pair because if the ability to move the rocker and the look. I don‘t see many reviews on it.

Would i be correct in assuming that softer wheels would be closer to ice edges than harder wheels (but more expensive due to needing to be replaced all the time?)

Would also be good to get peoples experiences and opinions of the different tyoes of wheel material, pros and cons, not just how long 5ey last but how they feel and what things are better and worse, ie which type of wheel is grippier and will make you feel more like the certainty of an edge on ice, which type of wheel is faster, which is better for jumps, for spins, for learners, for more advanced, or something someone might progress to after doing off ice for a while, etc etc. i feel like this video is giving me a lot of stuff to think about and you have captured some of the things that other ppl haven't which I feel like if I buy some, these will all be things i will be noticing and thinking about. And where i live the off ice frames are not cheap and neither are wheels and other stuff, and its also ages to get it shipped so it would be great to learn as much as possible about the type of frames, wheels, wheel material, and so on for different skaters. Even though i am an absolute beginner now, trying to relearn basics like a 1 ft spin, and simple jumps and footwork on ice, i know I am someone who is quite fussy and really notices the difference between different equipment (ie when i was learning to ski i was told intermediate skiers would be happier in a softer carving ski, and i hated them and knew i wanted a firmer one for more advanced skiers, so brought a firmer ski and I loved them (still do 10 yrs later). I think it makes a big difference having the right thing for you, and thats different for everyone. And decent skates and frames are not cheap, so videos like this are really helpful to people like me who are wanting to invest in some off ice frames but not sure what to get. It also looks like i need to get some cheap second hand boots as I had planned to switch them out with the blades on my brand new jackson skates, but it looks like thats not something i should be doing while I continue ice skating on those boots. (i had wondered if anyone has tried plugging the screw holes in the boots from off ice frames when using blades. Ie would something like filing off and shaping and pushing up some candle wax or something similar into the holes made for the off ice frames keep the underneath of the boot waterproof? But also wouod all those extra screw holes actually weaken the integrity of the boot? Someone told me they knew of a few ppl who were swapping inline and ice blades out regularly on the same boots as if it was no problem at all but now i am not so sure and as well as researching frames i need to research that too.

Hi, your video was really helpful. I've watched a lot of them and go the most out of yours. I have a question, hopefully you'll see this. Do you know the difference between four-wheel and three-wheel? I too have a figure skating background and want the closest feel to the feel of a blade. I would like to know how the four-wheel compares to the three-wheel, if you know.

Aww thanks. :) It all depends on the person but for me I won't less weight so 3 is better for that. I also have small feet so it works. If you have size 10+ you almost have to have 4 wheels or you get big gaps.

@@figureskatingfarmgirl9947 Thanks so much! The boots I'm thinking of putting them on had 91/2 inch blades, so I suppose I'm at the end of the three-wheel recommendation. Thanks for the information; it did give me the questions to look up.

Why did you like those boots on inline/off ice and not like them on the ice?
