Figure painting tutorial 1/35 scale - German Paratroopers step-by-step guide

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

With my first figure painting video I want to show you how I built and painted these Dragon Models German Fallschirmjäger. Painting splinter pattern camouflage is also part of this step-by-step guide, if you want to see it as that.
Although it was fun recording this process, I was in a constant fight with focus and light, until I found a setup that worked for me. So please have mercy, it's not perfect, but it would be great if it's helpfull for one or two guys out there. I always try to learn from the best and combine what I think could be the most helpful. And all that came together in this video.
Please let me know what you think about it, was it worth the effort?! I would love to read your feedback and cronstuctive criticism. And if you liked what you saw, please consider subscribing.

Nice work, the painting looks great. Too bad the figures themselves are not up to today's standards as far as sculpting and proportions but you turned a sows ear into a silk purse! I see you used the old tea candle trick for the CA glue as well. As far as filming goes I guess you know now how hard it is to stay in focus and in frame but overall you did a fine job. Congrats m8!

Thank you so much, means a lot to me with that coming from you🙏 yes the figures weren't the easiest base to work with, but on the other hand I was very curious how they would turn out and what result I could reach with them. So even better if they turned out nice😊 filming this was very challenging too, it looks so easy and smooth when looking at your bust painting videos, but it really is hard work. I guess the crucial tip for me was using a cellphone, so thanks again for that.🙏😊 using a tea candle is still working, so no need to find new solutions 😉😁

@@836dmar it's to put super glue on wax, somehow it doesn't dry out fast there and stays workable longer. Like this you can take smaller amounts of glue from it for longer time.

For the rain effect, depending on how strong you want the effect to be, I would try it with coats of glossy varnish, building up in several layers until you are happy with it. As long as they are all 1/35 there shouldn't be a problem. They can be slightly different, but that is okay as not all humans have the same size, so it should be fine in general.

Thanks a lot, happy to hear🙏 well, 1/72 is even too small for my taste and hands too, maybe just give 1/35 a try, maybe you can have more fun and better results here.

Good job. Only thing, I think the guy carrying the MP-40 has it facing the wrong way. I think it should be muzzle forward or it's too hard to get it into action fast. Also, upper part of the MP-40 folding stock butt plate is missing. I'm just getting started on figure painting. Last one I did was in 1975 with testors bottle paint. Shading? Washes? Blending? Never heard of them. 😄

Somehow my reply wasn't posted at first🤔 so again.. Yes the stock butt had an accident while building and the part got lost never to be seen again. So this is a new version😉😂 and maybe you are right with him handling the weapon, but I think this is similar to wearing it over the shoulder and he has a grenade in his hand, so I guess he wouldn't be ready fast anyway. So yes, technically I think you are right, but life has many ways of doing things😉 thank you for your thoughts🙏

What size wire was used to connect the figure to the cork?

0,5mm, but every size would work as long as it is not wider than the foot.👌

Well it might be easier to paint, but gluing painted parts to a figure with super glue can be messy, and using plastic glue on unpainted parts is always better adhering. Also, it is no real problem painting the glued on parts, more a good opportunity to practice and train the brush hand, as far as I see it.👌😊
