FightLite SCR , 50 State Compliant AR ?
The Fightlite SCR , from Fightlite Industries. I have wanted to get my hands on one of these for quite some time. I figured I'd take advantage, and do a full review of the Fightlite SCR.

You can get either a complete rifle, or a complete lower receiver that comes with the proprietary Fightlite Stock. The Remington 870 style stock houses the buffer spring, weight etc. The recoil system. Knowing that it is compatible with AR15 upper receivers I wanted to get a good feel for it, and also see If I could use my 300 blackout upper receiver on it. Then I thought about it, and decided I should also bring a 350 legend upper receiver to see if it works as well. While the Fightlite SCR Lower accepts standard mil-spec AR15 upper receivers it uses a unique fire control group, and a button style safety selector rather than a traditional AR style safety. However this rifle is not only California Compliant its 50 State Compliant!

California Compliant rifles are confusing. It has to do with physical appearance of the parts somewhat. Anyways to keep this rifle California Legal you can't use a flash hider type muzzle device , and must keep in mind to either run it with the included thread protector, or when selecting a muzzle device make sure its a compensator, or muzzle brake not a flash hider!.
We took it out with 500 rounds of 556/223 ammo, 80 rounds of 300 blackout ammo, 40 rounds of 350 legend ammo, and a Vortex Optics Venom 1-6 x 24 thanks to Vortex Optics. After finding a decent zero I went to town ringing steel over, and over. its lighter than I expected, and the Fightlite SCR Stock is surprisingly comfortable. The grip angle is good for shooting while standing, but offers a nice angle for bench shooting.

After burning through most of my ammo I was impressed this thing is accurate. It didn't make much of a difference in terms of ammo they all shot extremely well, and to me that's important. I had no malfunctions of any sort. I chose to use a Hera Arms Magazine for this video, and it worked well for the 556/223, and the 300 blackout. I shot the remaining 556/223, and got right to swapping upper receivers.

First I decided to try out the 300 blackout. I brought 4 different types of ammo out with me. 3 were Supersonic ammo, and 1 was Subsonic ammo. The Fightlite SCR lower did really well with all the Super sonic ammo, but the subsonic had issues. I decided I needed to try the ammo out with the 300 blackout upper back on the original AR15 lower receiver, and so I did. It had the same style malfunction as I experienced with the Fightlite SCR Lower & 300 Blackout upper combo. So I drew the conclusion that it was ammo related. Not that the ammo is bad, its just a thing when it comes to some cartridges you have to find what runs reliably in your setup. when it comes to 300 blackout it can be tricky to build one that runs both subsonic ammo, and supersonic ammo well unless you have an adjustable gas block etc. which this upper doesn't have.

I finished up running the 300 blackout, and swapped a 350 legend upper receiver onto the Fightlite SCR Lower Receiver. I only brought 2 types of ammo with me, and 1 of them I know from experience doesn't feed well in my 350 legend AR normally. That said I experienced the same thing when using the 350 legend upper receiver on the Fightlite SCR Lower Receiver.

All in all I think its a very innovative design, and I would love to see some aftermarket support in terms of buffer weights, spring strengths etc. The AR style rifles have the best after market support with so many manufactures producing parts. We have cool uppers chambered in things like 450 Bushmaster, 458 Socom, 50 Beowulf. While most of these run on the same style platform they can each require tuning. This is something we will perhaps have to revisit.

@freakerhunter8857 unfortunately living in CT means you'd be paying out the ass for one if you could even find one at all.
I've owned my SCR for a while now and very happy with it, shoots soft, and accurate. It was easy for me to pick up and shoot since I was used to shotguns, so the stock wasn't a problem getting use to. I bought it kind of where I live and wanted a semi auto other then the mini 14. I love the AR 15 but my only other alternative is a pump, or bolt action AR style, which I already have. Outside the city you can own an AR but with somewhat similar lame rules as CA. So the SCR was perfect for me. Great review, very detailed explanation.

Dang sounds about like California. I was impressed with how comfortable it is to shoot. After running 500 rounds I got a pretty good feel for it. . Definitely agree that it’s soft shooting, and the stock is comfortable in my opinion as well. Thanks for watching. We appreciate you!
Is it ny state compatible too since no detachable mags r allowed over there?
Probably one of the better videos showcasing this lower. Mine should be coming in today or tomorrow. It's been a long wait, but Fightlite has been great to deal with so far. I've put together a side charging 5.56 upper and I'm excited to see how it runs

Isn’t the fact it has no pistol grip that you could use the 300 BO upper with a flash hider?

Na sadly the flash hider by itself is considered an evil feature in CA. If you want to use a flash hider here it has to be a fixed mag gun. Thanks for watching
I have mine and I love it. The lower is 50 state legal, but you have to be careful about the upper in places like Illinois and Washington State. You don't want to use an upper with a free-floating handguard like the one listed in the video. It could be considered a barrel shroud. Instead use an upper with a traditional non free-floating handguard the just covers the gas tube. Illinois State Police is already stated that they don't consider that a barrel shroud. This is why the Ruger PC carbine with the extended free-floating handguard is not legal in Illinois.

@@dirtybirdusa Illinois & Washington have an AWB that makes NY and Cali look permissive… bans pretty much all but like 6 or 7 semi autos, huge banned by name list & the addition of barrel shroud as a feature also some very vague parts ban language.. MA might be #3 soon followed by Colorado if this new bill actually passes.. these new bills are absolutely disgusting, coming to a state near you

@@jonathanbardunias1889 for Illinois the rifle becomes a client as long as you use an upper without the free-floated handguard. Using a handguard that just covers the gas to, like a standard carbine handguard is fine. Illinois State Police have already said that those are not considered barrel shrouds. This is why a standard Ruger PC carbine is legal, but the PC carbine with the barrel shroud is not.

@@jonathanbardunias1889 Technically still possible to get the SCR lower and assemble the entire rifle as long as it's under 10 rounds and doesn't include the "AW features," which would mean a totally featureless rifle without a hand guard/shroud. Edit someone already said this

I currently have mine being worked on by a gunsmith to make it a left handed side charger. Im not sure how they did it, but they did and im still waiting for it to be complete.

Nice. That’s what’s great about the Fightlite SCR all you have to do is pop a left handed upper on, and its good to go!

@@dirtybirdusa not so easy bc you have to use their pigtail bolt. You would have to get that bolt drilled and tapped for a handle and then put that in your left charging upper
