I don’t think one is necessarily better than the other. I loved he story mode in champion. Control wise I liked round 4 better. Either way we need a new fight night like yesterday

I may be late on this...but I honestly don't get the love for Champion... Round 4 is FAR superior. The controls, the visuals, the strategy...Champion felt like it was made for someone new and JUST getting into the series (boxing overall at that)... On top off all that, it was WAY easier; Champion felt like the arcade counterpart to Round 4's simulation style. I was seriously let down when Champion released and immediately went back to Round 4

I feel like fight night round four looks better as well. The colors are more vibrant, and you can see the details like sweats much better.

One thing both games didn’t get right was the knockout/knockdown animations. They were always so exaggerated. If anything, Fight Night 2004/Fight Night Round 2 got them right, RAGDOLL PHYSICS. You drop where you stand or wherever your momentum was taking you at the time of the punch. If Fight Night Champion got the animations right, like a perfect mix between realism and pure ragdoll, then it would’ve been the PERFECT boxing game. Mike Tyson shouldn’t be flying halfway across the ring from a jab. Nor should Foreman get knocked from corner to corner then fall stiff as a mummy.

LOL fight night champion = button mash & fnr4 = strategy.. IF they had fn champion graphics in fnr4 then that would be the best boxing game ever.

Stevie smith couldn't agree more I've had ps4 since it came out and I've been waiting for fight night to come out and ncaa football to come out and neither one has and it pisses me off I don't play games alot but when I get off work I like to game a little bit and when I had my ps3 the fight night series and the ncaa football series were my favorite to play

The minigame isn't that hard. It's possible to get up 4 times. After practice, it becomes a piece of cake. If the minigame wasn't at least slightly hard, everyone would be able to get up from every knockdown, and that would be no fun. Agree on the framerate though. I've also noticed that either my xbox is getting slower, or the game as glitched, and now whenever I play the game, my ring movement is delayed and sluggish (like 0.5 seconds after I press the analog stick to move).

actually i like FNR4 visuals... they're like more colorful

Have you noticed that every one says specificly that champion LOOK'S BETTER that's just what I noticed

in FN Champion body physics is insane! Aech boxer have his own style, and movements looks just linke real. Graphiks is normal but physics 100year before other games

I like Fight Night Champion more because it is more fast paced

I am commencing from 2021 because there has been no fight night released since this one. As a result I had to go back to my PS3 to fulfill my urge to play a good boxing game.

Round 4, over time and going back was a superior game. I actually lobbied for the "one button" block. But I think that is the reason Champion wasn't as fun to play. The low and high block just made it more fun and also more difficult. I wish we could make a boxing game were exploits weren't as easy.

Years back I had this fight night the first one loved it then I bought round 3 years later went straight to Champion I skipped four all together now buying another PlayStation I bought Round 4 thinking it was newer game of course I was wrong yes it is more technical but it lacks the boxers that champion has not sure which one is better I will say that patience and skill come into play in round four much more

The assisted blocking is what turned me off from the game

Games are like Jordans ..they the same thing you got years ago just with a different name and later release date.. And we still buying it lol

why isn't adamek or golota in fight night champion

This game just seemed lacking ALOT compared to Fight Night Round 4. It's WAY to easy! I've never made it passed a 5th or 6th round in any mode of the game before winning and just barley trying. Even with Tweeked Settings, Difficulty G.O.A.T all that...It's not as good to me as Fight Night Round 4. It looks better graphically and the punching animations are 10xs better but there is no way to have a good, challenging boxing match on here. The End round automatic recovery system is horrible along with the automatic blocking system also. On Fight Night Round 4 I'll actually win or lose by a decision, going 12 rounds while Strategically Calculating what to spend my End round points on ect. The fighters are tougher and at times pose a real challenge. Fight Night Champion is just not a good boxing game to me.

Idk man, I was playing FNC the other day.. and it was hard facing Gervonta Davis in my legacy mode.. I would always lose the fight by a KO.

Fight not champion looks a bit better and the gameplay is way smoother

and still no new fight night almost a decade later smh can't even give us roster updates with dlc of new fighters smh

stamina goes faster and theres not a proper health bar aswel.

Loved Round 3 at the time but in retrospect it lacked fluidity. The career mode was much better than champion and in general the gameplay was more challenging. FNC even on GOAT was simply too easy. For some reason the judges on FNC champion always gave me every single round (even when the cpu landed more statistically). In short I want a game with the fluidity and controls of fnc but the challenge and intensity of round 3. I wonder if round 4 has got that right balance (haven't played it yet).

I was just playing FNC today and it's not as great as I remember. We really need a fresh boxing game. Stupid UFC makes EA drops FN series.

the thing about champion is its actually not as realistic as round 4..round 4 you could trhow yoour jab and stay on the outside but on champion if you try doing that you'll just lose all your stamina by round 5 then get knocked out.

Champion was a major failure. I just recently bought it finally. For only $25 for the full game. If they had charged that when it was released i probably would have bought it. But $60 for pretty much the same game? There was nothing new about champion except the made up story which wasn't very good. The fact Young George will forever be locked is what REALLY pissed people off about this game. Loyal fans pre ordered it and got screwed.

Champion's stamina, and cuts and swelling corner stuff is BAD. But everything else is good.

It does when in champion just let's you hold down the block button and your fighter just auto blocks for you

tried today ... uhmmm ... i passed from ps2 to 3 few days ago. First gameplay impression is not very good, surely nice graph but seems that fight night round 2 was the best one ... you decided where to block in fn2 , here it decide where to block ... uhm, first impression, no good enough

Fight Night Champion is shit, only thing better about it is the graphics. They fucked up the blocking system in Champion, which is enough to ruin the entire game if you ask me. It would have been much better if it was like Round 4 where you can guard the body and head manually and there is a block strength meter.

its true fight night champion looks alot better but the gameplay is what counts and thats worse.

Funny what they were trying to do was show how the "new" Champion game looked better than Round 4 and this does the exact opposite. It further validates that Round 4 was a better game than Champion. The punches and lighting are terrible in Champion.
