Super awesome video. I will say that they're a little egotistical claiming he's like the new Jackie Chan. I think they're missing the point that he didn't just do awesome stunts, but that he has an amazing sense of humour and is an all around charismatic guy. Not to mention that Jackie is a master of far more martial arts than Iko. Not to dismiss his talent, I couldn't do that. But that line did rub me the wrong way. Lol

Jackie had always been about comedy.. I watched his old Hong Kong movies.. Drunken Master, Snake in Eagle Shadow etc, they all have comic elements.. It was just Jackie's style..

Big up Iko and Sam. I have a ton of respect for the work these two do.

I am so incredibly jealous of you guys. I've been a huge fan of Iko since The Raid and I've been following him ever since. I'd love to meet him. I'd especially love to have him teach me to be even a millionth of the badass he is. You guys have been living my dream since the start of this channel, but especially now.

U visit Jakarta, and i will show you where Iko grew up, young iko's home, the padepokan where he been trained, etc..

Whoah Iko!!! That's quite a score, good job team.

They explained things so much better than I would of expected. Usually these kinds of things are just famous faces rambling or promoting their movie but these guys did a great job.

Wasn't expecting to see so much love for Uwais, really pleased to see him getting the credit he deserves. Also liked that they explained how movie fights are nowhere near a proper representation of a real fight, in terms of how everything is jazzed up to make it "look" better, that's a tid-bit you don't hear too often.

Two kids at my school faked an entire fight at school during lunch. The whole thing was choreographed and looked awesome but everyone (including the teachers) thought it was real. To this day I consider them to be absolute legends.

I love the fact that they kept going through the movements over and over perfecting the details with you guys instead of just saying oh yeah you guys got it on the second try

The magic of cinematic fight choreography is the combination of practice, discipline, timing, and camera work. I'm glad you got people who knew what they were doing and I enjoyed this video a lot. Imagine using everything you learned here and combine that with prosthetics and the fake blood from way back. That'd be hella awesome.

Why is it so easy for me to see Brian's true last words being "you're a piece of work, Murphy."

I'm proud of you Iko Uwais... you make indonesia more famous in the world

Imagine if action heroes actually say things like that when they take their subdued opponent's weapon: "Hey, free knife!" Also, the end result felt so real and Brian flipping over reminded me of that Scam School episode where he learned wrestling and how to fall properly.

As part of my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Acting I had to take a stage combat course. Watching this I am reminded of my course and the fun that I had there. Stage combat is so much fun.

hello i'm from indonesia thanks for the video, a little story. silat much of its history in the colonial era in Indonesia, we lived under pressure at the time, to fight the invaders, many silat styles but basically taught humility, training in martial arts used to be more difficult, more extreme when practicing, using original weapons, beating and kicking seriously. if exposed is a risk ", my parents practiced every day legs and hands beaten with bamboo sticks, and kicked us not using samsak but wood or bamboo trees, and when warming up push-ups, hands were clenched on rocks, I also learned Silat and shorinji kempo from Japan, I pray that we all learn to live from humility, it will produce positive energy for us, greetings from Indonesia, the spirit continues.💪👍

From making homemade gas masks, now learning choreography WHILE being sponsored by movie. who knew two men could entertain with stupidity? amazing! keep up the good work!

omg iko ... damn man, what a show and the final result is LIT

It's great seeing this kind of in depth analysis of fight choreography, because you can see the difference in tempo in some fight scenes. like this is a very fast 1234, but then you watch some fights (which I won't name to be kind) where it's a very obvious 1...2...3...4, almost like every action is a pose they have to get into rather than a smooth cause and effect. Great editing on the final fight sequence too!

Yes! This is awesome! You always see films - usually KZread fan films or film festival shorts, but sometimes even big-budget Hollywood stuff - using camera tricks to cover up for bad fight coreography. It sucks to see fast, blurry, edit-heavy action scenes because they can't show the action and reaction in the same shot.

What really makes me kinda angry is when you find out that some movies actually had well choreographed and well acted fight sequences which weren't deemed fast enough by producers or directors so they cut it all up in a jumbled mess for some god forsaken reason.
