Regarding burnout... I used to have a rubber stamp that said: "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." I did some research ions ago on the benefit of being creative and found out some interesting things. The brain uses a different lobe to do art and music, than it does to think, reason, ponder and learn. So getting into an artsy project metaphorically "sweeps" the brain of the cares, giving rest to our other lobes, and helps us rejuvenate enough to face another day of tasks. Thank you for spending your minutes helping build up the Body of Christ. You've been so helpful to me, by just sharing your faith and knowledge of the Word.

I just love your stuff, Faith ❤ And I know what you mean about getting scrappy with stuff! Since I started Bible journaling and getting more crafty with things I told my husband, "you know, I always thought it was solely for aesthetics, but actually I find myself pondering this more deeply because.. .so I need a big note? Is this a big thought? How does this apply? Where am I going to write this?" It actually has taken me deeper in my. . . Digestion of the Word? Haha does that make sense? Like it sticks with me longer. Maybe that fits into the meditative aspect that David talks about it the Psalms, looking at things from all angles. Also, I had a Professor in Bible college who encouraged us to think about and plan our prayers before we prayed them. Not that we always have to do that, but I TOTALLY get you. Sometimes it is really helpful to think about it before you come to Him. ❤️ Again, thanks for the encouragement!

Hi Faith, a real nice motivating video. I have saved carefully, and I have bought throughout the year all of studies you have plus the reading plan and videos. I recently had to drop from the top-tier due to finances, that's how hard I've been hit. I just use crayons and colored pencils in my bible. I have a couple good pens as well. I'm not looking for sympathy here. I was wondering if you could do a video how to decorate journals with really cheap things. construction paper, kids' watercolors, markers, crayons (not the twistable kind) I buy things twice a year just before starts and January when school supplies are super cheap. I've come up with some things like leaf rubbings on paper, and different textures, bits of dried flowers. I'd love any suggestions from you or anyone else in the group. God Bless!

Happy Birthday. Jesus give me grace and endurance this Christmas. As a single mother my number one priority, are my sons. Both of them are autistic so they require a lot from me. God give me strength as I struggle to provide for them. My faith in you is still strong! Even as I struggle to pay rent every month and I struggle to buy groceries for my children, I KEEP FAITH in you LORD. Jesus hear my prayers I’m so overwhelmed and discouraged because I’m also battling lupus and have heart issues. Lord give me strength because I want to give up.

Thank you for this video, Faith. Burnout is real. I went from studying about 5-8 hrs a day (Bible and reading Christianity books), but stopped in late September as stress came. I’ve been feeling guilty lately, so I prayed and it helped me feel better, but I still couldn’t study. What I did then was continue reading Mere Christianity by CS Lewis a couple of days ago and I’ve started to come around again, which has lifted my spirits. Good luck everyone!

For me, I had a lot of Bibles and a lot of them weren’t right. I couldn’t stick with one. Right before Christmas, I found my Unicorn Bible. This was the one my list that I wanted in a Bible: soft cover, red letter, double columns with cross references, fantastic study notes, archeological sections, introduction to books. This isn’t the CSB Everyday Study Bible, but the Holman CSB Study Bible. This has gotten me really excited about Bible study again.

I was so encouraged by this video! I have felt so so so guilty for "using" if you will, crafty things to motivate me. I feel like I'm relying on things to get me excited when God's Word alone should get me excited. Does that make sense? But I do this too and when you said "it was worth fighting for" to make a habit of reading God's Word, that made sense. I have to admit...I saw your "O Holy Night" paper from a Short the other day...recognized the price font 😂 called 3 hobby lobbys in my area and ONE of them had just two left for 50% off! It's also sold out online 😂 I think it's the cutest Christian Christmas paper I've EVER seen! Ok. Now off to Bible study with a hot (reheated) cup of coffee while my kids nap ☺️ thank you!

Hey Faith I just discovered your videos about a month or so ago and I enjoy them so much. They have really got me thinking about looking into commentaries and studying Bibles. This question is a little off topic but I was wondering if you have ever heard of John Cunningham Geikie he wrote a series called “Hours with the Bible” “The Scriptures in the Light of Modern Discovery and Knowledge” I found volume 4 a few days ago going through some boxes that had belong to my aunt. If you’ve heard of this author I was wanting to know your opinion because you seem to know so much about Bible commentaries. And secondly would you recommend “Life Application Study Bible” it is by Tyndale. I thought you mentioned that name before in your videos. Any way so glad I found your channel 😊

I'm dying to start them, but I'm also afraid I'll read a couple of pages, find they are too difficult for me and never touch them again. That would be so sad! Any tips for me, please?

Girl…. I can literally tell in your video how disappointed you are in yourself for feeling burnt out with Bible Study specifically and how hard it was for you to admit it out loud. I swear a few times I saw your eyes turn red and well up with tears. And as hard as I know this was for you, I want to say thank you for even being real and raw with us because I truly believe that not only helps us grow as a community, but helps us understand better why grace is needed within the community and it helps us appreciate more, I think, the grace that God shows us. Anyway, I have a 12 year old. I know your kids aren’t as old yet, but I’ve been searching for a kids Bible reading plan. It doesn’t have to be a whole Bible reading plan, because let’s be honest, some things in the Bible she isn’t ready for 😳… ya know… as I’m writing this I’m thinking maybe it should be a Matthew-Jude reading plan and then psalms and proverbs. That’s kind of how I encourage new believers because I feel like since we are on the NT side of the cross, it’s easier for us to understand… and once we understand God’s character and plan, the OT is easier to read. Anyway… I’m rambling. I guess I could work on making my own reading plan for her, but was curious if you had any resources or know of a plan already for kids around her age. Thanks! ❤️

I'm glad you were able to push through and study the scriptures, but sometimes you ... just ... can't. You just don't have the time or the energy or the emotional bandwidth. That's OK. There's no command to study the Bible every day. Honestly, there's not even a command to read the Bible every day. What's most important is to maintain your habit of daily time in the Bible. It's OK to back off a little. You can just read the scriptures if you don't have the energy to study. Maybe you just need to read the next book in the Bible, or maybe you need to revisit a favorite passage. Maybe you need to be reminded of God's love (several Psalms or passages in the gospels are great for that) or that God is bigger than your problems (I like the last couple of chapters of Job or Isaiah 40-45 for that). Maybe you need to be reminded it'll all work out -- the last couple of chapters of Revelation will do that. Maybe you even need to just listen to an audio Bible while you take a walk or sit in your rocking chair. Sometimes it's OK to just eat cereal for dinner. And sometimes it's OK to just let the scriptures wash over you.
