Senna vero! a true senna! i remember when his uncle Ayrton tested the Honda nsx almost 2 decades ago wearing white sport socks and loafers!

It has a manual gearbox in that it doesn't have a torque converter that is in automatics. But there is no clutch pedal or shift stick. The only option is the flappy paddle. However, anyone that has tested it says that the computer shift gears faster than a traditional manual could be shifted.

It'll be great to see Bruno in F1 this year. Campos' situation is a bit worrying though, lets hope we see them in Bahrain!

GTR is a beast.. I have seen this car roaring past me in early 2009 in Phoenix. Fair to say that I have seen it 99.9% before anyone else in the USA.

@TangoR34 The first Skylines had 380bhp in racing, and the M3s and Porsches they beat had 210 and 240. Hardly a great feat.

This is when the Nissan GTR set the bar. This was back in 2009. The 2015 Porsche turbo S is now faster than the GTR. The Vette still hasn't caught up. The 2015 Z06 is close but not faster than the Nismo. The GTR defies all other super cars by having four seats, a trunk, more weight, transmission in the rear of a front engine car. It's GODZILLA!!!!!!!!!

CSM1470 Nissan has always targeted the base 911 Turbo, not the Turbo S. The Turbo S isn't quicker than the Nissan GTR Nismo on the Nurburgring, the Porsche's home course. But down the 1/4 mile it certainly is. But the thing with the GTR is it actually is generating alot more lateral G's in comparison to other AWD car's. Even with Porsche they provide momentary pauses to the way the G's are delivered, so that the driver can relax. The GTR has no momentary pauses at all, I'm not sure how Nissan could possibly create a car that is a G generating machine. Plus it's not like the Lateral G's it's doing are bottom of the class, if anything it's very close to the top. So even though it has more weight, delivering constant powerful lateral G's with no momentary pauses is probably the reason it can match & surpass most lighter & more powerful AWD car's. I have to take my hat off to them on such an accomplishment for the price. After the Nismo, things seem to be going in a slightly backward direction; but Motortrend still managed to beat the latest NSX down the 1/4 mile in a later model GTR. So it's still king of the JDM Supercars. Well, until Honda release the NSX Type R.

So he's driving a £100,000 car at a terrifying speed during wet weather, and STILL he talks with his hands, off the wheel. I like the guy.

These GTR engines actually have more than 478bhp. EVO mag (contributor David Yu) has one and it was dyno'd standard at (if remember correctly) around 518bhp.

The big difference between these two cars is that Porsche does everything naturally. They spent months on a track tuning it, making it ligther and that's why it's more expesive. Whereas Nissan didn't, it's heavier and the reason why it performs a tiny little bit better is its rear differential. It basically steers the rear wheels by spliting torque from side to side, eliminating the understeer. GT-R is the first and still the only supercar to feature.

What Nissan also has proved that is that the super cars don't have to be super expensive. Brave performance ..

Well if it could last an entire Rally (an endurance race over [usually] rough roads) long enough to win it (which it did in the Targa West Rally of Austraila in 2008 and 2009) then it ought to be durable.

A good race car drive , never look at speed odometer just feel the speed, every time you look at the odometer gauged you will get scared the speed you drive. Don't let the speed odometer scared the shit out of you.

Nice video. Thanks 4 posting it. I also noticed that at 1:51 of the video there was a spark coming from the rear left tire. What the fuck was that? Maybe the tires were running out? Im curious about that. I think its not an overun cuse it look like coming from the tires and not from the exhaust.

The GTR double clutch made the half second difference in time here. Give him the Porsche with a PDK and watch him make that time back.

I thought of buying a Boxter or BMW z4 .. instead got a HondaS2000.. 2 years ago. now i thought of buying a Porsche Turbo or Lotus Exige instead got myself a GTR. First i drove my Red GTR people few folks started blinking and honking to cheer me up.. i felt real good..

@NunoMag if they were the same price then yeah id totally agree with you, there is no point in getting the slightly less classy nissan gtr. but if you want raw performance then the gtr is much better value

all he needs in f1 is a competitive car and he will be at the front, no doubt.
