I swapped my Shure SM57 with this and I think it sounds better. No one NEEDS an SM7B to B honest.

I think the audio is good, but I think you should definitely sit there and tweak your sm7b because while it sounds whole and your present, the on complete opposite sides of the spectrum on audio EQ wise, even if you plugged it in with the same settings. But it also depends on what you’re going for. I believe the sm7b can do it all, vs this is a great start out streaming/podcast mic. Maybe I’m wrong however Dale Jrs podcast Dirty Moe media you can hear a significant EQ difference.

how did you get the mic to turn on without the plug in the back

I'm confused between the Fifine K688 and the Maono Pd400x. Any suggestions?

Sm7b kills this thing. First off the sm7b is about 3db quieter in this video. It also has all kinds of weird peaks that are very noticable on the S SH and H sounds, also noticeably strange artifacts at the end of words. Not bad at all for the money, but not close to the SM7B in quality.
