Brazil didn't even qualify. They were eliminated in the first round of CONMEBOL qualifiers before the tournament was taken away from Peru.

@mracf1926. It makes their victory even greater and sweeter. *Brazil WON all its matches, fair and square. Including France, Mexico, Italy and Chile.* Even the Mexican press recognized the dominance in the game by Brazilians. Remember Mexico lost with Italy, could not even score with Paraguay in a draw and passed in penalties to the final ... Numbers don´t lie. So ... eat your heart out, dude.

@Just This No opinions, just facts. Fact: Brazil didn't even qualify for this world cup. Fact: they finished fourth out of five in the FIRST round of CONMEBOL qualifying. FACT: they finished seventh out of ten in South American qualifying.

*Mexico es un gran contendiente en ésta categoría.* *Y comparte con brasil y nigeria las tres mejores posiciones (sin obviar a Ghana).* Pero, en ésta copa, la vasta mayoría de su prensa deportiva y expertos mejicanos coinciden no tuvieron el equipo, ni estadística para llevarse copa. Perdieron con Italia, empataron a cero con Paraguay, pasaron en penales y en la final Mexico apenas 12 intentos, y sólo 2 a marco. Contra 24 intentos brasileños y 12 a marco. Menor posesión% de México y más tarjetas amarillas. Además, esa barrida de Alejandro Gómez en área de gol fue demaisado imprudente para no ser penal. Y luego, recibieron un segundo gol por más errores de su defensa. Esa es la realidad cruda, avalada y reconocida con la "cabeza fría". Ahora bien, el VAR seguirá siendo controversia mientra no se regule y norme CUÁNDO y cuántas veces se revise por juego, en TODOS los torneos. Sobretodo, en equidad para ambas partes. En mi parecer y simple opinión, coincido con analistas, *SÍ fue penal y le faltó a México un poco más para campeonizar.* Sin duda, volverá en PERÚ 2021 a buscar su Tri-campeonato.

LOL... a under 17 World Cup in Brazil. What you expect? That penalty acting on the part of the Brazilian was an 'Oscar' winning performance in behalf of the referee But oh well had they gone to penalty shots would have been 50/50. I am sure they were happy for payback in Peru in 2005.
