If FIFA can’t even drop aside about 500k to make a new World Cup trophy (so that the winner can keep the real one instead of a replica) once every 4 years, I don’t see how they could even come close to competing with EA FC unless they partner with 2k or something

To be honest, I hadn't played an EA Fifa for years until this last one and I'm surprised how little progress has been made in terms of realism in visuals and game flow. A bit of competition might be what's required to get some real progress.

The way this can be succesful is by FIFA partnering with Visual Concepts and use NBA 2Ks technology to develop the game.

We need a football game with a proper deep career mode and match AI that is actually realistic. Playing FC24 has been frustrating because it doesn’t resemble the kind of football you see in real life, there’s no player movement and no defensive coordination at all. Can someone please compete with EA on this! This is a real opportunity to move football games forward, we’ve been playing the same rereleased version of FIFA for years now!
